Napierparking Arvostelua 

Paid for 2 hours and parked at Wolesley car park in Ipswich. We returned well within the two hours, but my daughter was unwell so had to use the loo at the last minute so my wife and her returned late with us leaving 22min after the ticket expired. I was however sat in the car with my son waiting, and the car park was more than half empty at the time. A week later I received a parking fine of £100, reduced to £60 if paid early. I appealed and even asked them to check the cameras for evidence and to reconsider quashing the fine on compassionate grounds. But they had no compromise and said the PCN still stood. Really poor customer service, I would have been happy to have been charged for the extra hour retrospectively. Feel like this sort of practice should be highlighted to the consumer ombudsman. Id think twice of using Napier car parks again, but then they have a monopoly on certain areas....

How are companies like this allowed to operate? They are thieves, charging insanely high fines for breathing near one of their car parks.

I parked in Ilkeston . I payed the fined . Then got another fined for 60 I wrote to them that I had paid but said they had not received it then I ended up paying over two hundred pounds . First off the on line payment does not work robbing folks

DO NOT USE NAPIER PARKING. Disgusting behaviour! Paid for 2hrs parking with cash and displayed ticket. A week later parking fine appears on my doorstep! Thankfully I still have the ticket so appealed with this. After having physical proof of paying to park they are still insisting I pay £20 within 2 wks or this will then increase again! Will never park with NAPIER again and will be spreading the word in the local area to avoid there car parks at all costs.

I purchased a ticket to park for 2 hours at Roomes store Upminster, car park run by this shocking company. On return to my vehicle, which was within the 2 hour time frame, I had a medical episode which meant I could not drive my car from the car park straightaway. My car was removed 17 minutes after my ticket had expired, A week later I received a PCN for £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days, obviously I appealed and explained my situation, today I received a letter to say that the PCN still stood and I am to pay. I am appalled at the lack of compassion from this company, you are a disgrace and ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Do Not park in this car park or any others run by Napier!!

Unbelievable, I paid the fine. 4 weeks later I’m being chased by BW Legal for the outstanding fine. I provide the evidence of payment. This ignorant, incompetent parking company are so rude they cannot apologise. I parked at Camp Hopson Newbury. Avoid.

Do not use any carpark run by napier parking. They are one big rip off company and you cant even contact them by phone to speak to someone. Their parking officers are aggressive and become very nasty when challenged ..I repeat DO NOT USE ANY CARPARK RUN BY THIS RIPP OFF OUTFIT

I have today just received another fine for £100 for parking in Southport West Street car park. I have already paid the £60 fine for that date, when phoning them I was told prove it which I can as it is on my bank statement. What can we all do about this criminal robbing company. It's got to stop, surely the police can do something about it,or the council. They can't keep getting away with this criminal behavior.

Minus stars - Do not use Mill End Car Park near Hambleden, machine would only give us 1 hour fined £60 for 15 mins disgusting.

Recently parked in Bridport Tannery Car park , I paid for parking, got my ticket, which annoyingly I binned, only to receive a parking fine this week for allegedly not entering my registration correctly on the machine. I appealed, Despite having lost my ticket, my banking app confirmed payment, which according to them is mitigating circumstances, so the fine was reduced to £20 , however they refused to check the machine to see if they could see my correct registration, pay up or else, apparently NAPIER PARKING and the ANPR system are 2 separate companies, NP act on the ANPR but do not liaise with them, only fine on behalf of them !!

My husband and I chose to park in the Napier car park on Sowter Road in Derby to attend a performance at the cathedral. There is no facility to make cash or contacless card payment, only online payments. Unfortunaley the payment site would not work and both my husband and I made several attempts to make payment of £4.50 using our phones. We also called the helpline but this was also not working. We had to leave the car park to secure parking elsewhere after around 20 minutes of failed attempts to pay. We received a parking fine notice within 2 weeks which we appealed along with supporting evidence of screen shots of our failed attempts to pay. Our appeal was declined within 24 hours.
On the Napier Parking website they describe their service as 'reliable, efficient and cost effective'. Their service delivers nothing from this pledge. I have contacted the City Council and am seeking advice from the Citizens Advice Beaureau as well as raising the issue with the Derby Telegragh. This car park is not fit for purpose.

Hi I’ve just read the reviews about Napier Parking and completely agree with the comments. I entered their car park not knowing they were bullies and thugs. I lost my credit card to pay for parking down the side of the car seat and couldn’t retrieve it so it took 20 mins before I could pay. The machine also wouldn’t take my credit card so I had to walk back to the car to get cash and it took a long time to walk as I am recovering from a serious non fault car crash so I currently need a stick and walk very slowly. I appealed via the internet and they rejected my explanation in less than 24 hours - I’ll never use them again and I hope anyone who reads this review will do the same. Linda - Newbury

Aggressive attendant. Used this car park in Derby town centre. My NHS business meeting ran over time by an hour. Received fixed charge notice of £90 in the post. Parking on the street elsewhere would have been only a £50 penalty! When leaving car park in asking attendant questions, he was highly aggressive and gave no answers. Signage is poor. I will never park here again. It’s unlikely anyone I know will ever park here. Complaint to council incoming.

This is a scam company they have an appeals process clearly to get people to pay when not at fault. How do we let these companies exist.

Why does English Heritage out source car parking (e.g. at Burgh Castle) to Napier Car Parking? This company is a disgrace. They use every opportunity to extract money from car park users for minor infringements of their draconian small print rules and refuse to accept explanatory evidence. They are bullies. Avoid at all costs.

Disgusting bunch of thieves. Have received a Parking Charge Notice when I wasn't even able to park in their car park due to it being full. I never even turned the engine off, I was waiting/slowly driving around for 12 minutes hoping a space would become vacant. I then gave up and left, and had to park elsewhere. This was Tabernacle Street car park in Truro on Saturday 20/07/24.
How this can be legal is beyond me!!!

UPDATE:
I appealed against the above fine because I was really angry at the unfairness of it, but had no expectation of them listening to me. Amazingly, I have today received a response that says they will cancel the charge on this occasion after reviewing their camera footage and records. This is a huge relief, but they should never have tried to fine me in the first place. The whole episode has been very stressful and unnecessary!

This company is being allowed by the law to mug & rob people when there had been NO INTENTION to park without payment, this is not a penalty it is highway robbery & the sooner the government put a stop to it the better!!
Burgh Castle Fort Norfolk a £1.50 for 2hrs & £2.00 for 4hrs carparking @ a Norfolk Archaeological Trust / National Trust site, great prices) paid for 2hr ticket (plenty of time) after parking at the other end of park realising payment was by card & no money taken had to walk back to car to get a credit card to pay and before paying helped a disabled person to get through the ill thought out swing gates giving access to the historic site.
After walking around the historic site and the surrounding area (no shops or anything else here but fields) left the car park 5MIN 1SEC BEFORE the expiry of the 2HR ticket AS CONFIRMED BY NAPIERPARKING FINE APPEAL REJECTION NOTICE against the £100 fine for being over the £1.50 2hr as they had taken my parking start time from when my car was caught on camera entering the carpark NOT from the TICKET START TIME = 2hr ticket final cost £101.50!!!
I still have the ticket to prove payment.
I appealed and then was told my appeal had been turned down "We are unable to cancel the Fixed Charge Notice as it was issued correctly" this SHOULD read "We are UNWILLING to cancel the Fixed Charge Notice as it was in our opinion issued correctly and we do NOT use DISCRETION AND JUDGEMENT in any circumstance" & also BECAUSE WE ARE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH IT!!!
Is this what the law that allows this Highway Robbery to go on meant to achieve?
I am 78 & my wife 76yrs old going out to a National Trust property for a trip out & got a £100 fine for a technical short overstay.
Shame on Norfolk Archaeological Trust / English Heritage for employing companies like this to run their car parks and give them a licence to print money, we will never again use an English Heritage site that uses third party parking companies like this despised company!!
