Some of the clothing is great. Their customer service is lacking in that they are very strict with returns, no matter how much you’ve spent with them. They want to be seen as “luxe”, but their customer service stinks. You’re better off going to Nordstrom, where there’s more variety, and a more reasonable return policy. Sizing is unpredictable, the cotton “basics” are way too thin/transparent, and they cost too much. If a retailer wants to charge $80 for a cotton camisole, fine, but the quality should follow at that price point.

Don’t even think about reselling on MM LaFleur’s second hand website (Second Act); they say the package is insured with USPS, but that is a dead end. They don’t care if you’re out significant amounts of money due to a USPS delivery issue or there’s a lost package. Great way to inspire women: overcharge for workwear, have a terrible return policy that again punishes overworked women, C-suite gets rich, C-suite sends tone-deaf emails about their luxury vacations, multiple spoiled children, etc. Yawn.

I’ve been shopping this designer for over 5 years and love them. Clothing is high quality and cleverly designed. They are women owned and support women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability. They offer terrific options for professional working women, whether business casual or full blown power suit. I find their returns process easy and fair—except the one time I ordered through Facebook and it was a nightmare to return something.

One advantage I want to highlight and I hope other designers take note. They are more size-inclusive than most others. I got to know them when I was a size 1X and had virtually no good shopping options for professional clothing. Plus sized clothing shopping is the worst—I can’t understand it. I lost weight and now have TONS of shopping options, but I remain loyal to MM LaFleur because they were always there for me with beautiful, well crafted clothing options no matter my size.

Their boutique in Georgetown in DC is spectacular and you get white glove treatment from the amazing women who work there. It helps to go to the boutique because their sizing is not always uniform among pieces so it is good to try on first.

I ordered a total of five items for around $700 with promo code. Two weeks later, nothing, no email- I check with the shipping update and all it says is "label created." I email customer service *twice* in the course of the following week- no one gets back to me. I try calling the customer service number on the website- and get a regular voicemail like one you would get in a house. I text with an online agent who says she doesn't know where the package is. I call the store in DC, and the woman tries to help me but is obviously not in charge of the website. FOUR WEEKS LATER I finally get through to a woman who refunds my purchase. I wanted to love this female-owned and run business, but for the price you are paying for the clothes, the customer service is frankly, unforgivable

The clothes are high quality but for this price point the customer service needs improvement. No pre-addressed return label. No easy way to navigate to return instructions (found it buried in the FAQs). Have to enter order details then pass a “Captcha” challenge to finally get to the necessary page. And then…my order comes up and I’m instructed that I must contact customer service directly to return my (return eligible) items.
Bad enough that I’m not buying from them again.

I love M.M. LaFleur's clothing. It is well-made, stylish, and comfortable. Almost half of my work clothes are from MM LaFleur. Their customer service is excellent and their no pressure virtual stylist appointments are super helpful. In addition, the CEO's periodic email messages (not sales promos) shows the company values its customers. You will pay at bit more for their clothes than average, but to me it is worth it.
