MINTAPPLE. Arvostelua 

So I ordered a leather watch band from Mintapple years ago for my Series 1 iWatch I was very happy with the leather watch band then from Mintapple and when I received a new iWatch Series 7 watch I immediately went back to Mintapple for a new leather watch band to match my new Series 7 watch.

I ordered the Series 7 “gold” leather watch band on December 27, 2021 from Mintapple. After 15 days, on January 12, 2022, I received my leather band and immediately noticed that the metal parts of the leather band were not “gold” but rose gold.

I sent an email to Mintapple as well as pictures showing the complete difference between the “gold” band they sent me and the gold iWatch itself, to include pictures of my Series 1 rose gold iWatch and their Series 7 “gold” band and how identical it was. I even sent a picture of my old rose gold Mintapple leather band, one of others I have purchased over the years, to show that Mintapple’s old rose gold was more in line with the Series 7 iWatch of today.

I received a response from Mintapple saying that I had screwed up and I ordered the aluminum “gold” and not the stainless steal “gold” and had I ordered it correctly it would match perfectly. I suppose I’ll take responsibility for that and I will blame that on the lack of picture correctness when I placed my order. What I mean by that is, when I apply the aluminum gold the picture should show aluminum gold, when I apply gray it should show a picture of gray, if I apply red it should show a picture of red, the picture should reflect my selection on choice of color, kinda like Amazon does when you order a multi-color item, the picture changes to the color you select.

In the email Mintapple sent me, Mintapple said “We can certainly help resolve this issue for you however we will require you to withdraw your review on Trustpilot.” So I deleted my review of Mintapple and requested them to send me the new watch band as soon as was practical and a postage paid label to ship the watch band back to them.

Mintapple’s response to me was that they would not ship the new band until they had the incorrect band (which I understood), they also added they would not cover the shipping charges to return the incorrect band.

Well, I guess I was hoping for to much that Mintapple would pay the couple bucks it would cost them to have the incorrect band shipped back to them. I have purchased many watch bands from Mintapple and I have recommend Mintapple to many of my friends who like my Series 1 leather band and ask me where I got it.

MY POINT IS THAT MINTAPPLE SHOULD HAVE THE DECENCY TO COVER THE COUPLE BUCKS TO SHIP THE BAND BACK AS A THANK YOU FOR BEING A LOYAL, LONG TERM REPEAT CUSTOMER. THERE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING SHOWS THEIR LACK OF RESPECT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND TRYING TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER HAPPY.

I wasn’t asking to keep the incorrect band and have them ship me a new band, just to simply cover the coupe bucks for shipping. I’m sure Mintapple makes a ton of money where they could have at least tried and make me as a repeat and loyal customer happy.

In my opinion this clearly shows their total lack of customer support, total lack of customer satisfaction and total lack of understanding.

As for me, I am done not only purchasing from Mintapple but also recommending Mintapple to any of my friends who repeatedly ask me where did you get that band. HENCE MY COMMENT ON HOW MINTAPPLE IS BEING PENNY WISE AND DOLLAR STUPID. In my opinion, Mintapple is so concerned with making their money now, that Mintapple are losing sight of the long term loyal return customer who will repeatedly return to purchase additional bands in addition to recommending to others Mintapple as a good place to do business, as I am and have done in the past.

So ya Mintapple, you got my money this time, but NEVER AGAIN!! I plan on giving my young daughter my Series 1 iWatch so I’ll just keep the band because it matches the Series 1 iWatch pretty closely. I will purchase my new Series 7 leather watch band from another company here in the United States, and give my hard earn money and business to someone more deserving. Mintapple you need me as a customer, I don’t need you, customers are what make you who you are, for without customers, your not a business.

SO AGAIN MINTAPPLE, CONGRATS ON BEING PENNY WISE AND DOLLAR STUPID!!

Ref web pics, they have all the watch colors but the band clasp pics never change when I/U choose an adapter or clasp color option. Those pics always and only shows the rose gold or silver coloring when you pick/change options. Try it for yourself. It does show the watch colors, but I know what my watch color looks like, I wanted to see how their metal clasps match the color of my watch.

This is the second watch strap I’ve bought from Mintapple over the last few years and It’s so nice to see a company who produces quality products with a fantastic customer service, it’s rare these days!
I find the prices reasonable so if you want a quality product and don’t mind paying a little extra, I’d recommend buying from them, it’s value for money that you want at the end of the day.

I fit high end bathroom products - Hansgrohe, Duravit, Villeroy&Boch etc and I know quality when I feel it.

I now have two Mintapple straps; a top grain leather strap purchased in April 2021 and a grey suede one I was bought as a gift in October 2021 because I wouldn’t shut up about the first one.

I was after a good quality leather strap with a deployment buckle fastening. The same feature is present on a number of Tag Heuer models and I’m a sucker for it. I also wanted the option to colour-match hardware (lugs and buckle) to the case of my watch. It’s an admittedly specific set of requirements, which left Mintapple as my only real choice. I was put off buying for an embarrassingly long time by the patchy Trustpilot reviews - I needn’t have been, and I’m writing this review in the hope of saving someone else the wasted time. I’ve left it as long as I have so I can comment having worn the products for some time.

While these straps aren’t cheap they do have a premium feel (and reasonably frequent promotions can help soften the blow). The leathers are soft, and the sealed edging and stitching feel well-finished (particularly on my suede one, which is definitely my favourite of the two I own). If I was being picky I’d say the leathers could stand to be a little thicker but that’s really neither here nor there.

Delivery was reasonably swift, and while the first strap was shipped in an attractively branded but unsealed fabric pouch which opened in transit and left the strap rattling around the shipping box, the second came in a well put together, nicely branded drawer-closure box, which the fabric pouch sat within. These guys are clearly building a premium offering, and investing in branding and packaging to match.

Many of the negative reviews seem to complain that the strap can’t be tried on without removing the security tag, after which time it can’t be returned. I didn’t find this to be the case. The security tag is a simple string hang-tag; the kind you’d see on a shirt, and I didn’t find it at all obtrusive when trying the strap on.

I’ve only ever bought straps, so can’t speak to their other product lines. Fortunately I’ve also had no cause to return either of mine, so I can’t speak to aftersales service. What I can say is that before my first purchase I contacted customer services with a query about the returns policy, and got a swift and comprehensive response from an actual human based in the UK, which gave me some measure of confidence, as did the fact that Selfridges carry a limited range of Mintapple’s products. Mintapple categorise the selection of colour-matched hardware on the watch straps as personalisation, which limits your right to a no-fault return. While not ideal, they’re entitled to this policy, and I can’t knock the explanation I was given.

Overall I really wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mintapple’s watch straps as a way of really smartening up your Apple Watch.

Mintapple has such a range of fantastic products, with fantastic and superb products. They are all well built to the highest quality and they offer the products in a range of leathers ( and most importantly not just Cow leather). It offered a range of textures and grains, which makes for fantastic designs and pattered. The colour choices are so wide and fantastic. Products are well packaged and shipped promptly as well as securely.

The only feedback I would give is that they should offer 2 or 3 sizes for their watch bands. Even though their watch bands allow for adjustment for all wrist sizes, it does mean you get significant over lap of the belt if you have a smaller wrist size (like me) other than this I hav managed to adjust it and overlap my watch strap to fit.

STAY AWAY! Disgraceful company.

Ordered a strap for my new Apple Watch. Packaged well but the product was of an inferior quality and felt (and sounded) like tin. On the same day as receipt I stated I wished to return it. However, the product was returned to me because I removed the piece of paper held on by a thread of cotton. My advice, if you have money to spare - flush it down the toilet rather than line the pockets of this lot.

Update - so many unhappy customers and the same template responses. I’m guessing they won’t be in business much longer with reviews seen on trustpilot

Worst customer service I have EVER received! My husband bought me a watch strap for my birthday I wore the strap for one day whilst out and it opened 6 times randomly. I have had numerous emails from the company and they are not willing to do anything - without video evidence - how do you get video evidence when this happens randomly whilst wearing it?
Have been refused a refund as the item is ‘not fit for purpose’ as they deem everything you choose in a size ‘made to order’ - when I requested a replacement the response was I could send it back to them - they don’t offer free returns! What a surprise that would involve some level of customer service.
You cannot make a complaint apparently they don’t have a complaints procedure. They CEO doesn’t deal with customers. They have no phone number - I can totally see why because they don’t offer any customer service.
I am unsure how retailers like Selfridges would stock such poor quality products with such a poor customer service.

This is NOT a one off! Guess I will go to my credit card company and make a claim through then for a faulty product.

The response is not true at all! No replacement has been offered! A free return hasn’t been either I have to pay for postage and once you have looked at the product then if you decide it’s faulty then you refund postage - that’s not a FREE return! All of your policies are subject to your opinion. Like where it says on the website about a refund if faulty being at your discretion.
There is zero customer service!!!
I will take this matter up with my credit card company as that seems the only way forward.

Excellent Product.I would recommend both that is for the Apple Smartwatch and also the iPhone which I recently purchased.Also fast delivery to my home address in UK.

I was excited when I upgraded my Apple Watch series 1 to a new series 6… but I was beyond excited when my bespoke leather watch straps arrived! They are beautifully designed with the deployment clasp and array of leather finishes.
I can see my collection of two expanding!

Great customer service, I ordered the wrong colour hardware which Mintapple swap with no trouble at all. The strap itself is very high quality and get lots of attention and positive comments when I wear it. I’ve even ordered a second strap.

Absolutely amazing service! Fast response to any enquiry and even at the weekend. I own a Milanese band and I had this for the past 3 years. I had no issues with the band over the past 3 years.
Since I had an upgrade on my Apple Watch I just purchased two more bands with Mintapple. One band had a slightly loose link so I returned it. The service was amazing from Minapple. They had no issue with the return. I was kept in the loop about my returned item and now they sent me a new band. The full process took less than two weeks.
I could not recommend enough Mintapple.

Poor quality

I ordered a stainless steel wristband for my Apple Watch - it is expensive but looks similar to the Apple Watch one. I ordered this in August 2020 and have worn it about a quarter of the time as I have 4 other straps. In June 2021 I took the watch off and the metal on one of the links had given way. I had not caught or otherwise subjected the strap to any heavy duty wear and tear. The metal is just not up to the job of being used as a watch strap. When i contacted Mintapple they just came back and said it was out of warranty. Seriously disappointed with the quality and length of warranty as i had previously thought that Mintapple were a quality organisation.

Regardless of your response below - my lifestyle and occupation means I do not and have not inflicted serious stress, damage or abnormal use and I refute your suggestion and response. This remains a poor quality longer term experience.

Love my new black leather case. Needed something that looked smart, was durable and didn’t impact wireless charging so it’s perfect! Also very nice packaging so makes items ideal as gifts. Very fast delivery too!

Avoid at all cost for the love of god - all of their 5 star reviews here were “invited”. Ordered 3 straps from this company, and they are of poor quality and do not fit at all as there is no measurement on their website of length/width/thickness. Asked for a refund and was denied for the reason that these items are “bespoke” or “made to order” when in reality I selected the size and color from a drop down menu like you would do on any other ecommerce site. Reported them to every single authority possible multiple times - Trade Standards, Omnudsman, Shopify, Amex for section 75, UK Gov COVID consumer protection, so would not be surprised if they stopped trading at some point. Eventually the seller agreed to a refund, however I had to chase for another month or so as the transaction was under chargeback and they refused to find any other way to refund me. All of this is in violation of the UK Consumer Act. Eventually issued them a Small Claims Court Letter Before Court Action and received my refund within 12 hours. Customer service is rude and unprofessional, and refuses to take any responsibility, acts like a victim, needless to say.

Great straps for Apple Watch. Best I have purchased so far.

Unbelievably poor. Ordered an item over three weeks ago for delivery within 3-5 working days. Got one update two days later saying item was delayed and would be coming next week and since then I’ve been doing all the chasing up as they weren’t communicating with me. Had three different delivery windows since the start and still haven’t received item. Had to go through the chargeback scheme (recommend this or equivalent you’re having issues and at least credit card companies can see the problems with this company first hand) via my credit card as they refused to respond to my request for a refund. They didn’t even offer to refund the delivery charge! Also no contact number or website so communication made doubly hard!

Don’t waste your money here!

The strap turns out to be too big for me. Requested a refund but was told that the item was custom made and so they offered an exchange instead... A bit of a bummer as I also had to pay for delivery, postage to return the strap and another delivery for the exchanged item! So in total, I ended up paying £12 for delivery with a product that I don't really want but I can't be bothered to pay for another postage to return the product again... The customer service team were responsive and helpful though.
