Very disappointing. I was trying to buy local, but I would have gotten cheaper and better quality from Ikea. I live in Quebec and it took 6 weeks to receive the bed and mattress and to this day (8 weeks) I still have not received my complete order. In addition, the wood of the bed was curved, difficult to assemble the different pieces.

Matress as described. Very good client service. Would recommand.

Great customer service. The floor bed is such a useful design and it really shows the possibilities of both fun and down time. Do feel the developmental milestones of children coincide nicely with the design, well thought out. Will be returning in the future.

We love the design; we chose a double bed and we don't regret it; the door is practical for our daughter but a little less for us; during assembly we had to review some holes because the pieces were difficult to insert but nothing major

A Beautiful Bed, Built with Care (and Some Growing Pains)

Before ordering from Mimibeds, I came across a few negative reviews—mostly centered around communication issues and processing delays. That gave me pause, but I also noticed the company was responding and clearly making efforts to improve. That mattered to me. And I can confidently say: this is a company that genuinely cares and is striving to grow.

Communication with customer service was easy and responsive, which is a big win. However, what was supposed to be a 2–3 business day processing window turned into closer to seven full business days—almost two weeks in real time. And listen, I’m not here to hold a company accountable for weekends—we’re all human. But the delay seemed to come down to some internal communication hiccups. After the shipping label was created, the package just sat… and sat. At one point, I swear it was growing roots—I’m a dad, after all, I notice these things. I reached out to Mimibeds and was told—on three separate occasions—that they needed to contact the carrier.

Eventually, I reached out to the carrier myself and—within five minutes—got a response that the package hadn’t even been picked up yet. I passed that information along to Mimibeds, and that’s when the package finally began its journey. This doesn’t shape my opinion of the company itself, but it is a bit of a warning flag that maybe a different shipping partner is needed. Purolator delayed things further because of the package weight, which they labeled as “special”—and that would’ve been fine, but their lack of communication only added to the confusion.

Now, for the product itself: the bed is beautiful. Strong construction, great materials, and a design that looks and feels high quality. This will absolutely be a centrepiece in my daughter’s room as she grows into her “big kid” bed. I have no regrets about choosing Mimibeds when it comes to the actual product. That said, assembly was no joke.

Some of the pieces were finicky—especially attaching the main siding. The slats didn’t align quite right and took several tries to get in place. It took me about 4.5 hours to fully assemble the bed. The instructions called for screws in spots that weren’t pre-drilled (including the slats and latch system), so I had to make it work with some creative problem-solving. Not a deal-breaker, just something to know going in.

Despite the hiccups, I’m still giving Mimibeds a strong review. Why? Because this is a company in motion. They’re clearly listening, evolving, and taking steps in the right direction. You can support a massive global brand that won’t even notice your order—or you can support a Canadian company that’s growing and learning with integrity. I’m picking Canadian.

So, would I recommend Mimibeds? Absolutely—with some cautionary tales:
• Build in extra time for assembly
• Expect the delivery to take longer than expected
• Maybe keep a screwdriver, some patience, and a sense of humor nearby

In the end, my daughter is safe, sound, and smiling in a bed I trust, and that’s what matters most.

And if you’re a fellow parent reading this—don’t worry, it gets built eventually… unlike the mystery drawer in my house filled with socks, screws, and good intentions. 😅

Ordered this for our 1.5 year old so the new baby can have her crib. Came really quickly and though it took a bit of time, setup was really clear and easy.
Quality seems great, wood looks really nice.

Love the bed frame ordered from Mimi beds! Exactly what I wanted, it’s nice to be able to lay down with my little one and read a story in bed before sleep. It’s quite sturdy as well. It did have a strong smell when we opened the box but after airing it out for a few days it was gone

Ordered the little dreamer bed and organic mattress combo. Overall happy with purchase and nice to have toddler safe on floorbed without worrying about getting out of bed. All items arrived within a reasonable amount of time. Bed was easy to build. Bed does creak a bit with adult on it and overall bed seems a little less sturdy than would ideally like.

Purchased the baby gate.
Not the sturdiest, but does the job.
Easy to put together, although the instructions werent very clear.

A little expensive but overall very good. The mattress is a little too soft for my taste. Customer service is good, but I don't understand the delivery protection if it is not honored.

Great transition ! Our toddler love his new bed. It’s sturdy easy to setup. I’ve done it alone.

The bed arrived quickly and is exactly what we expected, our 14 month old loves it! We purchased this one because it had higher railings than all the others so it actually felt secure enough for our kiddo. The only negative thing in our experience is the latch and the rails make a lot of sound, so when he rolls and hits the edge, there’s a lot of jingle / rattling that sometimes is enough to wake him up. We still love the bed overall though and are happy we got it, just wish those elements were a little more secure.

Bed is great, needed a lot of assembly but that’s ok.

We ordered the little dreamer floor bed and mattress to go with it for our 9 month old as he hates the crib. The mattress came within a week of ordering. The bed was set to come at the end of May and actually ended up coming a week earlier than expected which was a bonus. Overall we like the bed, my only complaint is it’s not the sturdiest thing ever, my 9 month old stands and holds the rails and they wiggle a bit so I’m a little bit worried about how it’ll actually hold up when he’s a toddler.. other than that it’s a pretty bed & has helped us with his sleeping.

Would give 0 stars if I could. They have horrible customer service. They kept saying they would get back to me by a certain date but never do. I will never purchase anything from them.

Overall our daughter loves her bed we had some issues setting it up and still pending some answers from customer service. The hardest part to build is the roof so more instructions and explanation on that would be good

Edit: Despite a rocky start (original review below), customer support was very quick this time around. They corrected the mixup quickly, sending us the correct sized frame and arranging a home pickup for the incorrectly sized frame. They appear to have made changes to their customer service department and, at least for us, it was much better.

The frame itself was easy to assemble and looks great. Our daughter loves it!

New experience is 5/5, but ultimately 4/5 given the previous experience.

We ordered a twin sized bed frame and mattress from them in mid December. The mattress finally arrived in early February. The frame was still yet to be seen. When we contacted them to get an ETA on the frame we were told there was a production delay for the frame. After a month or so we contacted them again and didn't hear back for weeks, and even then it was just generic, "We will let you know as soon as it's in stock." After contacting them several times they eventually gave a nominal partial refund for the delay and, after 5 months, in late April, we finally got a frame shipped to us.

At this point, the frame was clearly no longer an Christmas present, as we had planned, so instead we decided it was to be our daughter's birthday present, which was another month away. Imagine our shock and disappointment when we went to set it up today and realized the frame they sent was the wrong size. We now have to wait now for their unresponsive customer service to sort this all out. Not holding our breath for a quick resolution, if we get one at all. We were hoping to support a Canadian company, but honestly should have just bought something from IKEA.

I ordered a double size bed frame for my special needs daughter and she loves it and I don’t have to worry about her falling out of bed. Only reason for 3 stars is because delivery took longer than the date than my email said and customer service never got back to me about why ups wasn’t picking it up or what was going on with it.
