They literally give you about 50% of what you invest. Something they do not calrify or explain to you at the commencement of your investment. Have invested £600 so far but im given only £300 worth of gold in my account. They further reduced it on an attempt to withdraw my money.

Please read carefully before investing through this application, as you may end up losing a significant amount of money.

This application allows you to buy fractions of a gold coin or gold bar based on the current gold price. On the surface, the concept sounds appealing, especially for people who cannot currently afford to buy a full coin or bar outright.

However, what is not immediately apparent is that if the market price of gold is, for example, £100 per gram, you would reasonably expect a £100 purchase to give you approximately 1 gram of gold. In reality, you may receive only around 0.5 grams. The difference is not clearly explained during the purchase process.

It is only after making enquiries or submitting a complaint that the automated chat system explains that additional costs and charges have been applied.

To put this into perspective, a gold coin containing almost 8 grams of gold would cost around £1,600 through this application. The same coin could be purchased directly elsewhere for approximately £800. In other words, you could end up paying nearly double the market value.

Another major concern is that you cannot simply withdraw or refund your money. The only way to take delivery is to accumulate enough gold to obtain a full coin or bar, effectively forcing you to continue purchasing until you reach that threshold.

The alternative is to “scrap” the gold, which is their term for cashing out. However, doing so results in a substantial loss, often around 50% of the amount you have paid.

Please read other reviews before investing. You will find many experiences similar to mine. I only wish I had read those reviews before investing, as this has resulted in a significant financial loss.

Not Even Worth One Star

As a long-term investor in precious metals, I have purchased gold from a number of established dealers over the years. Unfortunately, my experience with Metfolio was one of the most disappointing I have encountered.

At the time of writing, the market price of 1g of gold was approximately £108. Metfolio charged a similar amount while providing only 0.5g of gold, meaning I was effectively paying close to double the market value. The company appears to justify this pricing through mining, storage, and operational costs, but this premium seems excessive when compared with other bullion providers.

For comparison, established dealers such as BullionByPost typically sell gold at or only slightly above the spot price. The difference between their pricing and Metfolio’s is significant and difficult to justify from a value perspective.

What concerned me even more was the sell-back valuation. After purchasing £200 worth of gold, I checked the amount I would receive if I sold it back and was quoted only £64. An immediate loss of almost 70% raises serious concerns about value for money and pricing transparency.

My experience with customer support was equally disappointing. Messages sent through the app appeared to receive automated responses, emails resulted in postmaster bounce-back errors, and the listed telephone number went unanswered. For a company handling customers’ investments, this level of communication is unacceptable.

Overall, the combination of high pricing, poor sell-back valuations, and inaccessible customer support has left me with very little confidence in this business. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Metfolio to anyone considering gold investment.

Further to add if you try going to your bank they will also not assist you in getting a refund and you will not meet the criteria as the gold will have not been delivered( depends if you have or have not received. )

Get you to buy gold at a massively inflated rate and cash you out at a minimum. For example bought at £50. Cashed me out at £18. Be very careful with this business.

The worst company to buy gold in .They don’t want to give your money back when you sell your gold .No contact numbers they don’t reply to there emails.sold my gold on the 8th of April still haven’t refunded me all of my money.only received some .Would not recommend even to biggest enemy

Apparently the app is easy to use . I’ve been with them for over a year . Recently I tried to scrap my gold which was valued at 426 and they didn’t refund me the scraped amount . I got 100 bucks from these lot . And I’m still waiting for my refund . Apparantely they said it’s gon take 10 workin days but it still not processed . Absolute scumbags
