Not as reliable as they once were
I have been a regular customer of this company since its very earliest days but have just been let down by them very badly - and am appalled by their casual attitude. Despite promises to follow up with the Royal Mail to find out the reasons for delay, and to let me know the outcome, I heard nothing. This is after me making it clear to Merlin that it was imperative that the item I ordered was to be delivered the following day without fail. On the day the item failed to arrive in time, Merlin’s attitude was extremely dismissive. Not having had the follow up from Merlin that they promised, I did all the leg-work with the Royal Mail myself - which has taken hours and hours. It turns out that Merlin don’t understand Royal Mail procedures. Merlin’s response on the phone this morning was very unsatisfactory, despite me telling them again that at the time of my order it was imperative that the item was delivered on time, as promised.
Something has changed at Merlin. For a company that, I would imagine, does most of its business through mail order, to have such an attitude is incredibly hard to understand.
If you’re looking for dependable mail order customer service, look elsewhere. I won’t use Merlin again. When I told them that this morning it was abundantly clear to me that they couldn’t care less.
