Formal Complaint Regarding Medical Service and Request for Refund
On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 01:20 PM, I attended a scheduled examination with Prof. Dr. *** at the Urology Department of Koşuyolu Medipolitan Hospital. Following the initial consultation, the doctor requested several tests. Since the hospital staff informed me that blood samples must be collected before 10:00 AM, I completed all requested procedures—including blood work, urinalysis, ultrasound, and other tests—on the morning of April 15, 2026. I paid a total of 29,206 TL for the examination and diagnostic tests.The hospital reception scheduled a follow-up appointment for the evaluation of these results on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM. When I attended the follow-up, I was deeply saddened by the unprofessional and condescending attitude of Prof. Dr. ***. He addressed me in a dismissive manner, as if I were pleading for a favor, asking, “When were these tests done? Why did it take you so long to get the results?” despite the fact that I followed the hospital's own scheduling. Furthermore, he claimed one test was collected incorrectly and demanded it be repeated. To avoid further delays, I remained patient, had the test redone, and submitted the result to him immediately.When I asked specific questions regarding my diagnosis and test results, his responses were far from medical or professional. He used dismissive phrases such as, “This can happen to anyone,” and “One night, lightning will strike in your head and you will get better,” which I find completely incompatible with medical ethics and the standard of care expected from a professor. The session ended abruptly with him prescribing a single 30-capsule medication, without even a basic professional courtesy or a "get well soon."Despite paying a premium fee and undergoing all requested tests, I received neither a satisfactory medical explanation nor the respect due to a patient. I request a detailed investigation into this negative experience regarding both service quality and patient satisfaction. The doctor’s communication style and his scientifically inadequate remarks do not align with the professional and ethical standards of a private healthcare institution.Due to the lack of adequate medical counseling, the unsatisfactory nature of the evaluation, and the overall professional misconduct I experienced, I hereby demand a full refund of the 29,206 TL paid. Furthermore, I request that the necessary administrative actions be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring.
