Utterly senseless customer service. Bought a gift on click and collect but as I live overseas arranged for a courier to collect it as knew their service would deliver in time (if at all). While their website states if you have someone to collect on your behalf they have to have a copy of the confirmation email with the reference number and ID. Naturally, in 2023 courier companies booked online as they require don't have a 'send us your email confirmation which we will print out and call in our driver to collect so he can pick your gift from Mecca- or any store for that matter!! - service!! So while the driver did have the booking reference number the store manager not only didn't ask for it, or his ID - she simply turned him away!! It then cost me over £100 in phone calls to the manager, courier company and Mecca customer service to then get the gift collected and delivered for the Valentines Day surprise.
What I would like to know MECCA is... HOW MANY COURIER COMPANIES DO YOU KNOW OF THAT INTERCEPT PEOPLE'S ONLINE BOOKINGS TO KNOW WHEN AND WHAT TO COLLECT ON OTHER PEOPLE'S BEHALF.
To improve your customer service why not hire some people who 1. have a brain and can think strategically and logically 2.understand all types of logical customer journey's. #itsnotrocketscience !

I use to love Mecca, their products and in store customer service. Now I don’t feel the same way. Last couple of times I entered the store to purchase something, staff aren’t as friendly or helpful. Over a week ago I applied for their Talent Acquisition Manager role and was rejected with an email stating
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have put recruitment for this role on hold for now” meaning no thanks we don’t need you. Looking at their website just now and the role is still available. Why can’t you just be honest and state you weren’t going further with my application like any other organisation. No thanks. Won’t bother with the entire company ever again.

Ordered face scrub on the 8 Feb and was worried about receiving it as I read the reviews after I payed.
I recieve it in the mail today 16 Feb. I didn't get any e-mail from them after I'd ordered the produce so I thought I'd list my money. Thank you MECCA. I haven tried the scrub yet.

Can’t contact their Customer Service ever!
Their phone messages prompts you to do everything but speak to anyone and that’s if they answer the phone. Won’t be shopping here again. They just don’t care!

Soooo hard to contact and resolve any problems eg an egiftcard that has not been delivered and contacting them near impossible

Product turned up and when I opened the packaging i discovered it had been used! Reported this to Mecca and had no response. Like many others have reported, their customer service is very poor. They can’t even be bothered to respond to complaints on this site.

Gutted to walk in the Commercial Bay shop today and have zero customer service. One of the staff mumbled a hello and continued to gossip with someone else... the rest, and there were a heap of staff all doing nothing, as I smelt and tried on different products didn't even acknowledge me. I was actually so keen to spend my money too but not when a shop has all these staff on hand who don't care. On the other hand, the Dior girls just down from Mecca were more than willing to be awesome at their jobs!

Totally depends on the staff - experience can really go one way or the other! When a staff member cares you really know about it!

Although mecca is mostly great it has flaws. Their products are good but on the PRICEY side, also they NEVA EVA have SALES like Sephora &/or all beauty companies do!! They can afford to have a sale smh as for their beauty loop it only lasts 1yr unlike most companies its a lifetime. To get to each level you have to spend hundreds of dollars to get only a little bit of samples, mecca pls listen to us customers!!

Mecca's customer service is terrible! They are "unavailable" on their online chat, they take days to respond to emails and I've been on hold for an hour trying to get through on the phone!
They also promote products as "cruelty free" when the head company DOES test on animals. I wish they'd be truthful so I didn't have to do my own research every time I looked at something in their store. If it's not cruelty free then don't promote that it is! I will be avoiding Mecca in future.

Package never arrived, had an email from Australia Post saying package was delayed (read lost). I got in touch with Mecca using their live chat and was told I'd hear back within two business days. Didn't hear anything, now on the phone on hold - been waiting for 40 minutes and still listening to terrible hold music. This is the worst customer service I have experienced.

Purchased a tom ford sample pack. Delivery was via Aramex however, the item was apparently left ATL- Mecca never provoked any photo yet asked me to send photos of my door, and then said it was delivered and too bad so sad. I did not give any authority to leave my item, so now am out of pocket and need to arrange a chargeback

Have tried to call Mecca customer service keep u on hold for 70 mins 2 attempts to speak to them they never call back worst customer support I have ever experienced never using them for make up or products again !! Unacceptable

A girl gave me the wrong colour foundation after trying it on my face. I should have known when she said "if it's too light you can put some bronzer on". Luckily I had a sample of the concealer that I tried before opening the foundation. The girls were super nice when I came in to exchange it!

So surprised to see all the low rated feedback on here, personally I’ve never had any issues and I’ve been a loyal customer for years. I do online orders very regularly and I really love how they do overnight shipping. And the times that I’ve gone in to the store they’ve always been really nice and helpful!

Such back customer service. I brought an $89 room spray which broke after 1/4 was used. They refused to accept a return or exchange. I've had an account and ave been a loyal customer for years. Let's just say you buy it and you keep it no returns. Sucks because this was a BIG splurge for me :(

I wish I could give 0 star. I lost the trust from Mecca nz today.time after time worst experience. I been to mecca store queen street for click and collect and staff was very rude to me and she said stop in very rude way and then she went to inside to get my parcel and she put it in the table in rider manner . I could not see my parcel. I asked her where is my parcel.she said can’t you see it and see was laughing on me but one the other side she was treating other customers so nicely. I felt embarrassed and upset and I came home.
Then I send mecca to email and no reply and call the customer service she said I will receive call from regional manager. But no one call . Today again I lost my parcel and it is showing delivered when checked on Courior post website . But checked everywhere I couldn’t find my parcel when I called mecca customer service they said it can take up to 5 business days. Anyways I was already waiting from last 3 weeks for parcel.I was long term customer but it seems like their customer team is not interested listening me as customer as this issue was keep happening from the past and. Before this it was my $1400 value parcel which driver put to neighbours house and neighbour said she did not received my parcel . After 2 days they returned my parcel with open box and my item was missing from Mecca today the 7 time.
Honestly customer service was asking if checked properly and they don’t improve their service . But asking me things seriously can’t believe this .

Their online customer service is a JOKE!!! I placed order 2 weeks ago and was flagged that I need to provide my ID's which I provided very same day. 10 days, I have send several email and no response. Take your funds into their account and earn interest for days whilst we wait for order. Be very careful! Upon chat service I have been advised they will come back to me when they can. When we place order they deduct money straight away from account but when it comes to servicing then we have to wait for weeks.

this will be the last time i shop at Mecca, their online customers service is a joke, helpless and very unprofessional, 3 weeks delivery and my order is not even delivered yet. I know its Covid-19 situation but Adore Beauty& Lookfanstatic can still do better delivery than Mecca . Mecca is seriously such a mess in dealing with customers services, they need to realize they are no longer "exclusive" since now Sephora has entered Australia and many other online retailer that perform better than them. Just still live in their own "bubble" and treat their custumers poorly. Never shop there again and I've been their customers for 5 years.
