Maui Motorhome Rentals - Christchurch Arvostelua 

It took over four hours to pick up the motorhome. There were problems with the sensors, and then a problem with the engine light. They changed motorhomes, which took time, and there were differences in the buttons and other features compared to the previous one, which they refused to explain, only giving us a leaflet. This gave a terrible impression of customer service. On top of that, they were indignant that we had informed them about the problems with the sensors and the engine itself, especially since it was our first time renting a motorhome. We barely complained, and they were rude. Later, we had problems during the drive, but the roadside assistance was very attentive and willing to help.

The handle on the gas spike didn’t work and I called in to the 24/7 hotline but the customer service officer wasn’t very understanding and seem to be quite impatient about my issue and told me to just wait next morning to call in again when the usual working hours opens at 8am.

This is our first time patronizing them , overall vehicle condition was mediocre, there were pre existing issues with the vehicle outer conditions , which it’s prone to easily damage and it’s vulnerable to fail , which you will hold full liability, even if you damaged it , you would have to pay for the full price . We saw dishonesty as the last damage from the last customer was not even repaired , believed payment had been made by the last customer . We paid for some damages and requested that we have the proof of photo evidence to show that they have really replaced the damaged part , but the staff mentioned that this is the first time they received such request! I have to know what I am paying for ! Either they will leave the damage as it is , or simply lazy ! The hotline is always not available when we want to seek assistance. Luckily , we didn’t breakdown on the road . Would appreciate if the staff could just have the courtesy to say a simple thank you to their customer but we did not even experience it from the staff that served our check out .

The staff were very nice and helpful. Our van worked great. It was clean and made for the perfect travel option for us.

Request to have a Mercedes vehicle, but didn't change for me. That Inveco vehicle was no Apple carplay, the build in map was too lousy.

We had a great experience travelling around New Zealand in the Maui motorhome rented from Christchurch. It was comfortable, convenient, and made exploring different parts of the country very enjoyable. Staying at the campsites and waking up to beautiful scenery was definitely a memorable part of the trip.

During the trip, we experienced a few hiccups with the campervan, but the service staff at the Queenstown branch were very helpful and resolved the issues for us promptly, which really helped make the rest of our journey much smoother and more enjoyable.

We booked the motorhome for 11 days, and while it was an amazing experience overall, we felt that a mix of campervan stays and Airbnb accommodation with a normal car might have been more comfortable and flexible for a longer trip. Still, it was a wonderful way to experience New Zealand and we are glad we did it.

The vehicle was in immaculate condition, There were issues at pickup in Christchurch but then the journey went on smooth after almost 1.5 hour wait. The queenstown team was amazing during drop off. Overall the experience was good

The motorhome was in great condition, clean, and had everything we needed. We had a fantastic trip! The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the pickup and drop-off process was super easy. They also stored our luggage for us.

We picked up our Motorhome in Christchurch NZ to do a 2-week trip around the South Island.
The wait & handover time for pickup was very efficient (I think we were out in ~ 30 or so minutes) - as opposed to our friends picking up a van next door at a competitor, who took about 2 hours!!
Similarly, the drop off & check out was minimal. The staff were all professional and delightful; they were well-staffed so could move customers through properly & promptly.
There is also a bit of an RV retail area too where you can pick up some additional equipment you might need. We bought some cheap for mats to help with keeping the amount of dirt, autumn leaves, etc, coming into the vans down.
We had no real problems with the van (little bits of wear & tear are to be expected) & did not have to call for help. Though, The USB C & 12V chargers on the dash sometimes worked, sometimes not. You need to take your own phone holders for the dashboard.
NZ is fabulous for free camping & we used a few camp sites for power & water top-ups &managing waste.
Overall, a great/positive experience this time, compared to a traumatic time with disasters we had from the same company in Perth WA last year, with multiple vehicle failures, poor emergency support, extensive delays in drop-offs & pickups, etc. THL appropriately gave us a credit voucher that we used for this trip; we were obviously a bit tentative about it going well. It did! Thanks THL!!

Pickup and return were both pain free and van was in excellent shape and performed perfectly. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

We had an amazing experience, driving up to kaiteriteri (abel tasman). The campervan was super comfortable, super smoothly to srive and very well equipped. Everything worked perfectly.
The entire staff from THL (Christchurch) were super nice, helpful and kind with us.

Great experience with Maui. The only thing needs to improved is the Grey water test light. It seems that the test is not so accurate.

I couldn't give my Qantas membership number for the Qantas points at the time of the booking and after returning car was told I can't have the points. Im sure the Maui admin can add them as other services providers do.

Superb van , Mercedes 3 berth . Very light on fuel for a large vehicle 9.5L per 100kms! Customer service 5 star with friendly knowledgeable staff. A fantastic experience!

Pick up and drop off was very quick and effective. really appreciated as timing was very tight on both ends. The Motorhome was great for the trip. driving was a breeze once you get the hang of such a large vehicle. Drove very well. Would recommend trying to stay at powered sites most days to keep the battery charged. overall was perfect for the trip we wanted to have.

The vehicle was in pristine condition and performed flawlessly throughout my 12-day journey across New Zealand. The breathtaking scenery, combined with the reliability of Maui Campervans, made for an exceptional experience. I highly recommend their services to anyone planning a similar trip.

the motorhome itself was excellent, clean, linen was clean, van drove well etc. pick up however took over 2 hours in Christchurch. We had checked in online as requested but it did not seem to speed up the process

Smooth pick-up & drop off. Very clean and good condition of the vehicle.

The motor home was in almost new condition, very clean.
The staff were very efficient and friendly in both the pickup and return.
We had it for 2 weeks and didn't have one problem.
