Would give 0 or negative rating but unfortunately 1 is the lowest I can give. The flat was given to us without any in person viewing ( I had to accept it because I was relocating from another city). It was dirty and seems like they put little effort in cleaning the flat before handing over.

All the lights are flickering and when asked to change, they refused saying its our problem.

Terrible service and response. The agent Julie Houghton was always very rude and disrespectful.

Zak at the Huddersfield branch is such an asset to the company. He spent a lot of time assisting me with properties to let on a Saturday afternoon, close to closing time (sorry, Zak!). Sadly, I decided not to move to Huddersfield, but would definitely recommend using Martin & Co based on his professional and helpful advice.

I'm only leaving one star because I can't leave no stars! Contacted the Saltaire office trying to book a rental viewing for my mother, bearing in mind she is 78 and a non-driver. I was told that I couldn't book a viewing after 4pm or on a weekend! When I explained that I travel to the US frequently and would find it hard to take my mother to a viewing under these circumstances, was told that I should book time off work! What a shocking way to run a business and teh person on the other end of the phone couldn't have been less inerested if she tried.

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the way my application for the property at 26 Heron Street has been handled by Martin & Co and Letting Hub.

Throughout this process, I have experienced significant stress and frustration due to poor communication, lack of support, and repeated failures to respond to my requests. Despite providing all required information and doing everything asked of me promptly, I feel that my application has not been managed fairly or efficiently.

On multiple occasions, I have requested call-backs, yet I have not received a single returned call. Instead, I have repeatedly been forced to contact your teams myself, only to be directed from one person to another and asked to resend information that I have already provided. This has created unnecessary delays and distress, and it is simply not acceptable.

I believe I have fulfilled every requirement asked of me, and there is nothing further I can offer to support my application. The lack of proactive communication, accountability, and customer care has left me feeling ignored and unsupported during what is already a stressful time.

I kindly request that this complaint is acknowledged in writing and that my case is reviewed urgently. I also expect clear communication and prompt updates going forward, including a resolution regarding my application for 26 Heron Street.

As a landlady for over 20 years this is comfortably my worst experience. The letting agent at the Leicester office was rude and patronising at times. Incorrect AML checks for which there was an expectation the landlord would cover the costs. Slow replies to email and requests often not actioned. Questionable GDPR compliance with attempted validation through loose loopholes. Overall a stressful experience which is concerning when you pay for a service to take away the stress!

Blocked car across disabled stair/ walkway stopping disabled children & vulnerable people gaining access to there homes easily & also blocking access to family car even though there was plenty of space to move forward.

My senior and unwell mother suffered a flood after a leak in the flat above. The tenant warned the landlady via the estate agent that a pipe was about to burst but nothing was done. Martin and co staff were extremely rude . One member went over my request to leave my mum alone that day as she was distraught and is unwell but she then telephoned her! NO consideration for a senior citizen or a request to not visit her that day. She still hung around outside her flat and involved others to intimate my mum to give her access.

Some great members of staff, sadly was served a no fault eviction by the landlord so onto new pastures.

I went to view a property today in Bingley and was greeted by a very friendly polite and helpful woman called Jodie. She was very informative and pleasant. I would defiantly use these guys again

Worst company to deal with. The agent thinks they own Birmingham and so rude and not professional at all. Be aware before dealing with these people. I think they need more professional staff or people who knows how to treat people. They will waste your time in Birmingham branch. There’s so many other good agencies out there. You’re not the only one mate.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Simran at Martin & Co Birmingham City. Communication was virtually non-existent—she took 3-4 days to respond to emails, if she replied at all, and was unreachable by phone, insisting on email-only contact. As a landlord, I found her uninformative and unsupportive, particularly when dealing with tenant vacating processes. She provided minimal effort in securing damage deposits, even when damages clearly exceeded the deposit amount. Overall, her service was inadequate, and I strongly advise landlords to avoid working with her to save time and frustration.

You’re customer service is very poor and one of your colick is mashud Ahmad he’s very Inattentive man he offers a 2 bedroom apartment and he said it’s available and also he wasted my time to go and view the property and we accepted everything he said and now when we saw this property let agree with someone else and he didn’t say anything to us and we try to contact him but he’s Irresponsible person

I deeply regret not reading reviews before dealing with Martin & Co Croydon.
I paid a £335 holding deposit and withdrew only two days later, offering £140 as a fair compensation—more than 35 days before the agreed move-in date. Despite acting in good faith, the agent ignored my emails, refused transparency, and unfairly kept my deposit.

They falsely claimed the property was “held for us,” while it had been on the market all along—a clear attempt to mislead and pressure tenants. Their repeated delays, dishonesty, and disregard for evidence show a complete lack of professionalism.

I acted generously and reasonably, yet I was treated unfairly. Avoid this agency—they are unprofessional, deceptive, and disrespectful.

Rented a property which they managed in Stoke on Trent, the house had numerous problems kept reporting them they don’t listen staff are rude disgusting company will not ever deal with them again

Morrisons Village Square Runcorn has rapidly gone to the ruins, fridges are empty most of the time, limited stock on the shelves, there has been no sugar on the Costa Machine for 3 weeks now, I asked can you not use a bag of sugar for the coffee? The reply was, we are not allowed, i usually spend £30+ in there everyday before work only to find i need to go to another shop to get what Morrisons dont have in stock, its absolutely degrading by management from Morrisons to limit the stock availability, I must refrain from using that store again

My review is in relation to the Westbury office. I used the two years ago to sell my late Mum’s house and again now to agree a sale on my own home. They have all been wonderful. Kerri had dealt with the lion’s share of viewings. Unfortunately we had two buyers who lost their buyers. Kerri has been so helpful. Tanya, Kieran and Kim have also all been amazing in providing support during what has been an interesting journey.
I particularly like the fact that they answer their phone within 3 rings, unlike other agents in Warminster. I also love their videos.
I have had the pleasure of meeting David too, who is an absolute gent and an integral part of their lovely team. Lewis the office manager has also been in contact of late and provided detailed updates.
Thanks guys for everything. Keep being fantastic! I’d have no hesitation in recommending you at all.

Awful experience. The staff is a pest and very nasty. Completely different when they were in Kirkcaldy. That company in Cupar will go to hell soon. It’s a pity how Martin&Co changed. Once they moved to Cupar. In Kirkcaldy they were extremely efficient and friendly. Now they are going from bad to worse.
