I have tried a few other meal services since my husband's heart surgery last May and Marley Spoon is clearly the best. We are in our 6th week and have loved or liked all of our meals. Delivery and service have been excellent. My son, who has been ordering from Sunbasket for at least 10 years is also impressed. He is trying a trial basket and is likely to switch.

I gave only 4 stars based on price. We have run out of the promotional discounts and are now feeling the full price of meals. I order 3 meals a week for 2 people and never order the upgraded meals because they are pricey. Even though I try to make frugal choices, MS is seeming to be out of our budget. I see a 'hero's discount' listed but can't find information about it. As a veteran family, a reduction in costs could make a big difference.
To summarize, love the meals but feeling a financial crunch.

I like the variety of cuisines offered and the imaginative recipes for holiday WOW (like the pumpkin maple French toast bake). However the box doesn’t consistently provide the recipe cards. I collect the recipes I enjoy and this feature is an important aspect of why I use Marley Spoon as I am a visual learner and with video or online recipes I can’t mark up the recipes with my own suggestions. Also some ingredients are missing from the box, especially when I order similar recipes. (1 small garlic bulb is supposed to provide 3 tablespoons of minced garlic?)

I’ve tried three other similar companies and I dumped them all in favor of Marley. Generally more creative and daring, some of these recipes are so simple, yet they come up with combos I’d never have thought of. Portions very fair, I’m super happy with Marley 4x per week!

We really like the quality of the meat and vegetables etc. much better than hello fresh and blue apron. But, the products are just thrown in the box without any protection or organization. This most recent shipment had a leaking package of chicken, leaving everything a mess and others have had crushed tomatoes etc. Hello Fresh packages the ingredients for each meal in its own bag minus the meat. Which makes unpacking the box much easier and protects from damage.

I'm disappointed with the lack of variety of prepared meals that go by Balance. I switched from Nutre for similar reasons.

While I generally like the meals and their pledge for healthy prepared meals, you can't see full macros and you can't see ingredients on the Balance Prepared Meals nor get a good description of what's in each meal and you are forced to buy 2 of them so that's the main reason I'm leaving. I love the marketplace especially the great tamales croissants bagels and so many other items. Delivery is fine but order checkers consistently make mistakes and they issue a credit but often even the credits issued are wrong. A cascade of issues week after week. I'm leaving credits behind as I don't want to deal with this anymore. If MarleySpoon aka Dinnerly would pay attention to customer comments they could be great as I liked the few recipes I have prepared but its a collasal disaster with Balance Prepared Meals...

The food/recipes have been 3/5 overall. The real problem is not just that they don't deliver to the correct location (though very annoying), but that they don't then send out another box for that week. They only give you a refund on a future box. This has happened to me twice and I've had to suddenly come up with other meals for those weeks. Also, they have not sent all the ingredients, for which I am to receive $11 off on a future order.

Almost every recipe I've tried has been exceptional. A few were not great, but still good. Most of the really good recipes, however, do require more time to prepare, but the extra prep time is worth it. My only issue has been with the packaging. Sometimes containers of liquid ingredients, such as salad dressing, will get crushed under the weight of the other items, and leak all over everything making a huge mess, but this has only happened twice so I've dealt with it.

Maple syrup leaked all over everything. Whole box was a mess to clean up. Carrots split and had to discard. Pork loin was in two very unequal sizes making even cooking difficult. Worst box I have gotten out of the 100s over recipes I have tried.

The recipes we choose are very good. But there are usually only 5 or 6 that we like from the offerings. Also, they automatically send you meals if you don’t edit your choices early enough. We’ve had to throw a few of those away.

Every meal is so delicious....there is prep work and clean up but worth it to eat meals as good as or better than we would get at a restaurant.

The learning has been wonderful. The results in making very tasteful heathy food has been a very good experience. My shopping habits have changed. Cooking is now enjoyable

I was disappointed in pork meal- no pork. Red pepper looked old and wrinkled, same with arugula and spinach. Tomato smashed by can of beans. This box not usual quality.

Ingredients are fresh, portion sizes are very good in my opinion. When something went wrong the team was quick to fix it. I love how easy it is to have a variety of meals without the effort of researching or finding ingredients

Very expensive service and bad customer service. You’d think for such an expensive product they’d have better customer service. Other meal kit companies are wayyy above Marley Spoon from a customer service stand point.

...have been 4-5 stars in my book! The flavors are terrific, and the vegetables are NOT overcooked like so many other meal delivery services, which means they reheat very well.

I have experienced a couple of bumps along the way, but I'm very happy with the response time from customer service, and I feel like I've been fairly compensated.

I'm a happy camper thus far!

I love Marley Spoon. I recommend it all the time. Lots of tomevit is word of mouth because I work retail and I dont want people know personal stuff about me. These people come back and thank me...5 stars

Recipes are more complicated and less flavorful than other meal services we've used, quality of ingredients is Inconsistent and customer service is poor.

I love Marley Spoon. It's been a game changer for us. It feels like we are taking a cooking class each night. The meals are delicious and the ingredients are very fresh and high quality.

Good recipes but recently the veg has been very small. Red onions smaller than a shallot. Stuff like that.

The menus are typically very good but the packaging and production line seem to have some problems.The quality of fruit/vegetables is sometimes questionable-wilted, brown spots, mushy. The frozen gel packs have failed leaving the cold items room temperature and everything else covered in gel. And the timely deliveries is an ongoing issue. Sometimes 1 day late, occasionally 2 days late But This week No delivery. The delivery company says “item not received”. Marley Spoon says nada.
