Not a good enough service!!
A card (post) plus token for daughter-in-law birthday. Ordered on 19th, delayed notice from Royal Mail on 24th.....didn't even arrive by 26th (the day in question). It has taken me two lengthy phone calls plus online chat and in the end - despite a small acknowledgement by way of compensation.....I have to cancel the card and then buy an ecard instead. This wasn't what I planned and the refund could take a number of days before arriving.....
The call handlers were helpful (although the guarantees from the first person just weren't fulfilled). We will see if the current offers actually materialise. Used to be such a good service. Will not use again.

M&S is a great place to shop, but M&S Caramel Egg 2026. After eating one egg, had a terrible headache, so had to have a Paracetamol. Looked at the ingredients. Ingredients in your Caramel Egg: Sugar, Dried Whole Milk, Cocoa butter, Glucose Sryup, Water, Sweetened Condensed Skimmed Milk, (Skimmed Milk Sugar) Cocoa Mass, Coconut Oil, Humerctant: Sorbital, Glycerol, Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil, Rapeseed Oil, Butter (Milk), Dried Skimmed Milk, Butter Oil, (Milk), Dextrose, Emulsifier: Lecithins (Soya), Salt, Natural Flavourings, Caramelised Sugar Syrup, Preservative: Sorbic Acid, Vanilla Bean Seeds, MilkChocolate contains Cocoa Solids 33% minimum, Milk Solids 20% minimum. Surely M&S can do better than this?

I thought I'd give M&S a go for a few groceries. After—all, they are touted to be a cut above the rest so and thought I'd be getting something special. I bought a stalk of Celery, a pack of 6 Beef Sausages, a pack of 6 Soft wholemeal Rolls and a pack of 4 Fruit Scones.
The celery came into the country from Spain, as does the rest of the major supermarkets. The Beef Sausages were pan fried and produced so much fat which I've never seen the likes of. The wholemeal rolls were described as being light but were very dense, damp-ish and heavy. I pinched a little from one roll, and it was a sticky dough so I took the remainder of the roll and rolled it on the palm of my hands and it returned to dough and the Fruit Scones were absolutely tasteless.
I threw everything in the bin except the celery and will avoid M&S Groceries at all cost in future.

Expensive and short lived flowers!
I was sent a two beautiful bouquets and chocolates from a friend overseas. After only four days the roses failed to open and died, and the tulips were gone the next day. I am so annoyed as I know this must have been very expensive and I'm embarrassed to tell my friend how short lived they were. I personally will never send them to
friends and family. Very poor service.
A waste of £30, poor quality plants, and awful customer service
I received a £30 potted plant (in a distinctive M&S green china pot) as a Valentine's gift on February 14th. Within just a week, it started turning brown and the flowers completely fell off. Since it was a gift, my partner didn't have the receipt, but he contacted customer service to see how this could be resolved.
The representative asked us to send photos via a live link to prove it was an M&S product, which we did. After making us go through the effort of uploading the images while on the line, she immediately turned around and said there was absolutely nothing she could do to help. Why waste our time asking for photo evidence if you have no intention of offering a solution?
When my partner asked to escalate the issue to a manager, she claimed she was the manager—which I find very hard to believe given the unhelpful attitude. I've had M&S plants die quickly in the past, whereas plants from Tesco and Waitrose seem to last and last. A complete waste of £30 and a very poor experience overall.
Material has changed
The boys skinny school trouser material has changed from a sleek look to a cheap thicker material and is not a skinny fit either. The ones i bought in 2024 were more classy looking.

Unremittingly dull
I went to a so-called new 'flagship store' in the West Rose shopping centre, Leeds, yesterday and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Absolutely enormous, yes, easy to walk around and well-lit, yes, but the merchandise seemed so dull and was displayed so unattractively. Colours (presently fashionable browns, fauns and greys) combined with often shapeless garments just weren't tempting. I do understand this is a personal reaction but the merchandise just seemed so unattractive. In the past M&S has always found its own unique way to retain style exclusivity whilst still accommodating aspects of fashionable design and trends. Sad to say I wasn't slightly tempted by anything except a beautiful green Jaeger trouser suit! The Per Una range which used to appeal and to be purchased by all ages with its colourful and trendy shapes was none of those things!
And the good service, which for M&S staff was always non-negotiable: a philosophy passed on directly from its founders, an important and fundamental part of staff training, was hard to discover. Whilst self service tills are common in many shops of all denominations, the willing help of well-trained and helpful staff is what distinguishes them from one another.
Finally we decided to have coffee but were subjected to the worst possible discourtesy by finding that we had to use self-service order screens such as those found in MacDonalds - more than disappointing!
As to the decor - walking into the place was like walking into a factory or penitentiary centre, with no protection from the glare of unprotected lighting and muzak playing.
And, from these comments you will doubtless have worked out that I am part of an older peer group, but no less enthusiastic about M&S products and designs; more so in fact, as it is our generation who have always been your staunchest customers and for whom M&S is always the first destination!
Poor quality of flowers
The last twice I bought flowers from M&S for delivery, the recipients were very disappointed in the condition of the flowers, with leaves and petals all over the bottom of the box. I was asked by M&S to submit a review. I did this, outlining my concerns about the quality of the flowers delivered, only to be told that the review did not meet M&S criteria for the reviews, and was requested to edit the review. Does this mean M&S only publishes favourable reviews.

My gift cards are expired and was not aware of deadline to spend them. On the website there is no way to contact them to ask for assistance with this matter. I am their customer for 20 years of history. It’s disappointing
Dog Unfriendly - unlike John Lewis!
Another shopping trip where Marks and Spencer is left off the list being out of touch again - the only shop on my planned trip that doesn't allow dogs that aren't assistance dogs.
What special factor does Marks and Spencer believe its non-food areas possess that John Lewis doesn't? Why does it turn away dog owners' custom like this whereas John Lewis embraces us?
Will Marks and Spencer run and hide or actually respond with a coherent answer to these two questions?
Half dead roses delivered by DPD on time
Roses delivered by DPD on time. On opening the box the roses looked dried out. After soaking in a vase some of them perked up but they were all dead within days. An email with photo to customer service received a quick reply offering a refund. So far so good. I had paid with my PayPal account but put my wife's name on the address. That seemed pretty normal to me? However c.s. insisted that the person on the address had to contact them before they would issue the refund (citing data protection). This is despite arguing that it was paid for by me. It was all driving me crazy! In the end I got my wife to phone them and the refund was made. There should have been two boxes on the website- one for my address and one for the recipient, but there wasn't.
I understand that M&S have recently collaborated with massive flower enterprise MM Flowers, which was set up by Phil Whelan, a former buyer at M&S.
YET ANOTHER APPALLING DELIVERY EXPERIENCE!!
Yet again, appalling delivery service by Evri, who M&S keep employing, presumably just to annoy customers and waste their time. This time, the M&S warehouse didn't put my flat number on the label, even though the delivery instructions on my account include the flat number. I have complained about this countless times before, but does M&S do anything about it? Answer = No. So the Evri driver couldn't find my flat. Result = I didn't get the parcel, I had to ring M&S Customer Service AGAIN (this has been going on for YEARS), they had to sort it out. I probably won't get my parcel for another week.
MARKS AND SPENCER CUSTOMER SERVICE: ARE YOU STILL ASLEEP??!! FOR GOODNESS SAKE, GET YOUR DELIVERY SORTED OUT ASAP (AND DON'T USE EVRI).

I just wanted to say thanks to Yuton in the cafe at the White Rose centre near Leeds. He helped me use my sparks offer for a free drink & also made the oat latte which was great! He was polite, patient & friendly when I was having an old lady moment 😊

I'm beyond frustration with Marks and Spencer as a company in general! What the hell is going on with the qaulity and fit with most of their clothes, especially their underwear and nightwear, I've bought my underwear and nightwear from Marks, for more years than I care to can remember, Now I can't find 1 pair of knickers worth buying, the sizing for their knickers is absolutely wild!!!
I'm a size 8 yet even their size 12 is too small for me, and the quality is shocking. Thin material, no coverage, and poor designs, Their bras aren't much better, Marks and Spencer used to be the gold standard for underwear, now I'd say they're closer to primark, if not worse especially for the price of such poor qaulity.
The nightwear has gone the same way, again, poor qaulity and fit,
I know they're trying to appeal to a younger market, but if they believe anyone.... is going to pay Marks and Spencer prices for Primark qaulity they're deluded.
It also saddens me tha older generations are simply not wanted in Marks and Spencer anymore. They longer catered for any of their needs, I know a number of older people that wont even go for a a cup of coffee,

Honestly I'm not sure why I'm bothering with this review: clearly M &S don't give a hoot about all the previous awful comments.
Mill Hill Broadway branch - a small food only store.
Some smashing long serving associates - but they don't work at weekends . And the weekenders are - if I'm being kind - hopeless.
Shelves are devoid of stock -but they leave the empty packaging there.
The only exist door (automatic one)has been broken for weeks and weeks - with a sign saying - push the door: not easy - if you've actually managed to buy anything
and your hands are full and the door is heavy.
Food offering is abysmal! You're ok if you want - crisps and snacks and cakes and chocolates and alcohol (lots of that!) but food - nope.
Store is dirty.
M &S you very nearly failed before - you will unless you get your act together! Very sad.
Newcastle store has introduced tech…
Newcastle store has introduced tech menu to order food. What a nightmare. Scrolling through a menu to identify what you want to eat and drink. No way to indicate that you like your coffee extra hot. Went to see a person near the service point to request hot coffee. Again they had to scroll through another screen to find our order without success. Leave it with me was the final response. Coffee arrived lukewarm. Went to complain to another person. Told to leave with them and would replace. Sat and waited for new coffees which were hotter when they arrived. I have no problem with the staff who are trying their hardest with this system and were pleasant and polite. However M and S you have lost my custom. If I wanted this type of tech menu I would go to McDonald’s! They say that the high street is dying well one of it’s strengths is customer experience which is poor in M and S cafe.
