With over 20 years clinical experience, Professor O’Donnell delivers expert consultant-led assessment and treatment plans for patients presenting with arterial, venous and lymphatic disease. Clear and concise patient communication remains paramount combined with innovative techniques to deliver the highest quality of clinical care for varicose veins. His one-stop varicose vein clinic in a relaxed atmosphere affords an opportunity to complete a thorough assessment including a lower limb venous duplex ultrasound scan prior to patient centred discussion of available treatment modalities including minimally invasive keyhole radiofrequency ablation and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy procedures for all types of varicose veins including thread and spider veins. Professor O’Donnell performs office consultations for all aspects of primary and complex arterial, venous and lymphatic disease at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast; Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West; and the Ulster Independent Clinic. At both Kingsbridge Private Hospital sites, he provides the full remit of varicose vein procedural treatment including endovenous keyhole radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy and microsclerotherapy as well as open surgery for complex or recurrent veins including phlebectomy / avulsions, ligation and stripping. Professor O'Donnell's precision-led minimally invasive varicose vein procedures are provided to all patients in Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland ensuring fast recovery permitting patients to feel confident in their legs and walk pain-free again.

Starting at my first consultation regarding vascular veins, Professor Mark O'Donnell was so good at explaining everything that he was going to do during the procedure. His explanations were very thorough and delivered with great care. When we got to the next stage and the day of the procedure in theatre he was great. He kept me informed at every stage, explaining when he was moving to a new area and advising the pain sensitivity as we proceeded. As a result of his care I remained relaxed throughout the procedure. I fully recommend Professor Mark and the procedure to anyone suffering with vascular veins.
