I have been student at Mandarin Zone for 11 months. I arrived with 0 knowledge of Chinese and right now I am able to have basic conversation with Chinese people!! With our teacher we have practiced lots of speaking and character reading, which is really helpful for daily life in China. I totally recommend it!!

My daughter and I visited Beijing during the October holiday, and we found the Mandarin program at Mandarin Zone to be exactly what we were looking for. It was a perfect one-week experience — mornings filled with Mandarin lessons, and afternoons exploring the city’s rich culture as our teacher guided us through the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Temple of Heaven.

From the very beginning, the teachers and admin staff were kind, patient, and accommodating. Margaret LaoShi was especially thoughtful and polite. I was touched by the way she respectfully addressed me using 您 throughout our entire time there. One day, she even went above and beyond by helping me order rain gear when I mentioned I was worried about possible rain during our last day trip to Universal Studios. Margaret LaoShi truly 用心 — she puts great care and heart into everything she does. Her dedication and thoughtfulness really reflect the spirit of Mandarin Zone. Thank you so much Margaret LaoShi.

All the teachers we met were warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about teaching Mandarin. Their enthusiasm made learning both enjoyable and inspiring. It was a beautiful and memorable way to connect with the language and experience the heart of Beijing.

I appreciated the one on one lessons which I took for over one year. The lessons progressed at my pace and focused on my own needs and interests. As I gained ability I was able to venture out independently and navigate my way on errands, sightseeing, shopping and dining. My teacher used a variety of methods to assist me with committing words, pronunciation, and phrasing to memory and was infinitely patient. I especially enjoyed the conversational portions of lessons when I would be prompted to describe my weekend, what I was intending to do after class or travel past and future. Interesting as well is how the way in which Mandarin is spoken increased my awareness as to Chinese culture and way of thinking.
I’m currently taking a break from lessons as my travel schedule has me away more than home. I intend to return to Mandarin Zone in future and continue my studies. Great experience! Thank you!

I really enjoyed how my teacher helped me increase my mandarin level. At first we did a free trial lesson and then a free level assessment one.
During lessons we tried to do as much conversation as possible, in order to use the newly learned words and grammar in real life scenarios.
That really adds great value to the lessons in my opinion.

A small thing worth mentioning: the classroom is at the 12th floor and to get up you need to get the help of a guard to let you use the elevator

My daughter Alice attended Mandarin Zone's four-week summer camp in Beijing in July 2024, and it exceeded all our expectations! The program schedule was thoughtfully designed: Mandarin classes in the morning, followed by Chinese cultural activities and city exploration in the afternoon.

The teaching quality was impressive. All instructors are native Chinese speakers with excellent standard Mandarin and rich teaching experience. I was amazed to see my daughter progress from knowing just a few basic Chinese words to being able to have simple conversations with local Chinese children!

This practical improvement in language ability was exactly what we hoped for when choosing this program.

The cultural experience was incredibly comprehensive. Students visited traditional landmarks like the Forbidden City, Great Wall, and Tiananmen Square, as well as modern art districts and tech parks, experiencing both ancient and contemporary Beijing. The afternoon cultural classes included traditional arts like calligraphy and crafts, allowing kids to gain deeper insights into Chinese culture through hands-on activities.

As for the living experience, Beijing as an international metropolis was a pleasant surprise. The city offers not only diverse Chinese cuisines from different regions but also familiar Western restaurants, so my daughter had no issues adjusting to the food. The city's safety level is impressive - we felt completely secure even during late evening activities.

I highly recommend this program to parents who want their children to truly improve their Mandarin skills! This summer camp isn't just a language program; it's a valuable cultural immersion experience. I suggest booking early as high-quality programs like this tend to fill up quickly. If time allows, I recommend the full four-week program for optimal learning outcomes.

Chinese teachers here are incredibly friendly, and give enough chance to me to speak Chinese.
