I completed the Effective Communication course to help build my confidence when communicating in a workplace setting. Before starting the course, I struggled to articulate my ideas and often felt too anxious to speak during large meetings, which would leave me feeling frustrated.

What is excellent about the course is that it doesn't try to mould you into someone that you are not. It teaches you simple tools that you can learn and integrate into everyday life while maintaining your authenticity. It is a gentle but effective approach. I completed 10 sessions, which I found necessary to fully embody the techniques.

Since finishing the course, I feel significantly more confident communicating at work and am much more relaxed when expressing my needs. 

Lola is an excellent coach. I would highly recommend working with her.

I took the Effective Communication to improve my ability to create meaningful impact at work. James Aitken was a brilliant coach. He had a huge amount of knowledge to share and was able to give very specific and practical advice on how to use my voice in different situations.

I completed 10 lessons with Zoe and couldn't be happier with the results. She quickly identified both my weaknesses and strengths, then tailored each session around them. From the very start, she created a comfortable, non-judgmental space where I could be myself and get the most out of every lesson. She also knew exactly when to push me, which showed that my progress was her real priority.

Completing the Effective Communication course with Lola has been a genuine turning point for me. What began as a quest to gain some practical tips, ended in a total transformation of my attitude toward public speaking. Lola didn’t just teach me a curriculum; she empowered me to find - and use - a voice I didn’t believe I had.

My Goals:
My primary objectives were simple but daunting: to be more proactive and confident when speaking up, and to develop the tools to package and communicate my thoughts publicly in a compelling way, without being paralysed by anxiety. Whether it was delivering large-audience presentations, participating in panel discussions, or simply interjecting effectively during high-profile group meetings, I wanted - and needed - to be more central to the conversation and to feel comfortable there.

As a naturally shy introvert, I lacked a "toolkit" for communicating effectively in these scenarios. Before working with Lola, my lack of confidence was a significant professional hurdle. I would often stay silent in meetings even when I had valuable insights, shunning the spotlight. This avoidance was impacting my professional growth and leaving me feeling frustrated and overlooked.

The Lola Experience
The course itself is brilliant—structured with a diverse array of systems and tips that should cater to every learning style. However, it was Lola who truly brought the content to life for me.

- A Tailored Approach: I was particularly assured by how quickly and deeply Lola understood my individual needs. She used that understanding to tailor the programme to me, sometimes pivoting and going "off-script" to address specific hurdles I was facing or to incorporate themes and techniques better suited to me.

- A trusted partnership: Our sessions felt like a real partnership beyond tutor and student. In a one-to-one setting, and when acknowledging and addressing your own shortcomings, trust is everything. Lola cultivated a safe, supportive environment where I felt truly heard, understood and supported.

- Lightbulb Moments: Lola’s effectiveness lies in her focus on the why and the feel. She didn’t just tell me what to do; she helped me understand the mechanics of communication and, more importantly, how to manage my internal state. I lost count of the "lightbulb moments" I had throughout! She also helped me find the genuine fun and enjoyment in communicating, encouraging me to experiment and play with my communication skills.

Facing my Demons:
Under Lola’s guidance, I have faced my public speaking demons head-on. I’ve tackled all the different formats of public speaking (from panels, and large-group presentations, to making business cases to our Executive) that I previously avoided, and I’ve done so with a newfound sense of self-assurance (and now, even enjoying it). As well as now "knowing" the techniques; I feel equipped to use them naturally.

Final Recommendation:
I whole-heartedly recommend this course to anyone, regardless of their experience level. The tools you will learn are invaluable. But it is Lola’s energy, personality, intuition, and coaching style that made the real difference for me. She doesn't just give you the tools; she builds the person using them. I’m already looking forward to continuing our work together in the future.

I joined this course to work on my communication skills and accent softening, and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. From the very start, the process felt welcoming and well-structured.

My coach Hannah Benjamin has been absolutely brilliant. She provides so many practical, useful tools that you can take away and incorporate into your daily practice straight away - it never feels like theory for the sake of it. Everything is grounded and actionable.

I've already noticed a real improvement in how I communicate and carry myself in conversations, and my confidence has grown so much. If you're considering it but aren't quite sure, I'd say go for it - it's genuinely worth it.

I have been doing training online with Abby, one of LSW's senior coaches, to improve my communication skills for just over three months now. The classes have been extremely useful, and I have learned a number of effective methods that I can use to do extra practice on my own. I already feel more confident when talking to people in English, and also I now have a clear roadmap for realizing further improvement. I would definitely recommend Abby, and LSW, to others who are looking to strengthen their ability to communicate effectively in English.

I did the effective communication course with Hannah. I was struggling to understand what I needed to do to portray the 'executive presence' I kept getting feedback about. I've now learnt how to use my voice, words and body to make an impression. I feel truly 'unstuck', and that I have the tools and know how I need to progress my career. And it's not just technicalities, it encompasses mindset, psychology, and it's superbly organised, meaning you get the chance to learn, get feedback, practice and try again. Hannah is a brilliant teacher; she builds a warm and safe learning space and is incredibly inspiring, wise and empathetic.

I was very pleased with my coaching course with Ali, she is a wonderful coach able to understand a client's needs, and work flexibly with them to achieve their goals.

I found Ali's approach to be thoughtful, purposeful and she adapted to get the best out of me. Ali's experience, skillset and approach to coaching really sets her apart as she introduces new ways to think about things, and practical tips to improve my storytelling.

I had such a great experience working with Lola at the London Speech Workshop. From the very first session she created a relaxed and positive atmosphere that made it easy for me to try out new techniques without feeling self conscious. Her coaching style is warm, encouraging and genuinely confidence boosting.

When I first set out to improve my speaking skills, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Then I attended the LSW and met Christine and it quickly became clear that she was exactly the right guide for what I wanted to achieve.

I took a Powerful Storytelling course with Christine Prouty and I learned invaluable lessons about communication and speaking with confidence. I’ve been applying the techniques learned in my day-to-day work, and I feel much more confident expressing my ideas, asking questions, and providing feedback on the projects I’m involved in.

The key lessons I’ve taken away from our 5 sessions are:
- Keywords have superpowers
- Eye contact is important, but it shouldn’t be exaggerated (again, sync it with keywords!)
- Pauses and emphasis on keywords change vocal landscape completely

I signed up to a multi-session programme and had the pleasure of working with Adam (a senior coach) and Gilly (principal coach). Their expertise and passion for their work shone through at the first 30seconds.

Every second of every session was used to achieve the goals set out during the Taster session.

Also, the accompanying course manual and the complementary audio files are PRICELESS. They are packed with practical, easy to follow information/instructions.

On the administration side, everything is very transparent and they are very quick to get back to you.

I found the course worth every penny, and grateful to the team to make art of language/communication available to all.
