Not for holiday !
I purchased Miracle Knots for myself and my daughter specifically before going on holiday. Initially, we were very happy with them — they looked lovely, were easy to install and we wore them successfully for a few weeks.
However, after swimming on holiday, both mine and my daughter's hair became severely tangled and completely unmanageable. We had no choice but to remove both sets and arrange alternative hairstyles while abroad, costing us additional time and money.
I contacted LockBraids and was then informed that Miracle Knots are not recommended for swimming, particularly in seawater or chlorine, because they can become severely tangled. This information was not made clear on the product page when I purchased them.
What is particularly disappointing is that LockBraids actually acknowledged this in writing, stating that they "wish we had made this clearer on our product page" and confirming that they have now taken steps to update their product descriptions as a result of my experience.
Despite acknowledging that this important information was missing, they refused a refund, replacement or store credit because the hair had been installed and used. Initially, another reason given for refusing compensation was that I had purchased the hair using their maximum discount coupon. I was eventually offered a VIP20 discount — essentially requiring me to spend more money with the company in order to receive any form of goodwill.
I find this extremely disappointing. Of course the hair had been installed — that is how we discovered the problem. Had the swimming restriction been clearly disclosed before purchase, I would simply have chosen a different product for our holiday.
I gave LockBraids several opportunities to resolve this amicably and even made clear that I wasn't insisting on a cash refund; replacement bundles or store credit would have been acceptable. They still refused.
The most frustrating part is that they have accepted that the information wasn't clear enough and are changing it for future customers, yet the customers whose experience actually highlighted the problem are left bearing the full cost.
Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of the company. Customers shouldn't have to discover an important limitation only after their purchase has become unusable.
