Lingoculture’s (LC) main two plans (discussed below) give one-on-one lessons with teachers.
The plans have three curriculums that a student can select: (1) “LingoCulture Method”, a semi-academic program, (2) “Edito Program”, an academic and structured program, and (3) “DELF”, with intensive grammar for exams.

I would consider most teachers to be “semi-professional”. They have some teaching experience and some have certifications in teaching languages. But almost none have a college degree or a master’s degree in Education. But, they all have some type of bachelors or masters degree or are studying in them.

All their teachers speak English from the upper intermediate level to native level. So they can communicate with students in English when necessary. They even ask students what percentage of French or English they should use to explain things during lessons.

LC is flexible in allowing the student to study any three of their programs or any other content in any way he/she prefers. A student can do the sequence of lessons in any of the three programs mentioned above. Or he/she can sometimes practice conversation with teachers, or do any other activity he/she prefers.
The available lesson hours are, in UTC time, from 7am to 1am, every day. Considering that UTC time is 5 hours ahead of my Eastern USA time, lesson hours for me would be 2am to 8pm.

The student can study in advance the lesson contents and even download them onto their hard drive to keep even after he/she no longer subscribes to LC. Of course, the teacher gives better or in-depth explanations during the lesson. In addition, the solutions to exercises are not in the lesson contents. Only the teacher can confirm if the student came up with the correct answers to the exercises or provide the answers if the student does not know them.

LC is modeled on Baselang Spanish. So any student who previously enrolled in Baselang would know how Lingoculture operates. In addition, both LC and Baselang select teachers from countries with a low cost of living which allows them to charge reasonable prices to students.

The majority of teachers are from Algeria, which used to be a French colony. The curriculums teach standard Parisian French and Algerian teachers speak a similar variety of French.

I am taking the plan called “Lite” which allows 8 lessons per month and
currently charges $99 per month. This comes out to $12.38 per lesson of 45 minutes each. Their other plan, "Unlimited" allows unlimited lessons for $197 per month, which I am not taking.
Their third plan option called “King’s French” claims to take a student from zero to conversational in a month! This is an 80-hour intensive program priced at $2,600.
I assume most students take the Lite Plan or Unlimited Plan.
LC offers a 7-day free trial period with 3 free lessons, which include 1 introduction/ consultation (classified as a free lesson).

For these “semi-professional” levels of teachers for one-on-one lessons, the price per lesson is okay.
The language learning website, Lingoda, charges over twice the price for one-on-one lessons, but their prices for group lessons are similar to those of LC's one-on-one lessons.
For less qualified teachers, for one-on-one lessons, one can find lower prices in other learning websites, such as iTalki and Preply.
Let me clarify that teachers on iTalki and Preply charge a wide range of prices from $3 per lesson to $80 per lesson. However, most of the teachers from these websites who charge the lower prices are what I classify as “casual” teachers, those that do not have much certifications or experience in teaching foreign languages. If you are already at an intermediate level or higher and mostly want to practice conversation in foreign languages, then iTalki and Preply are lower cost options.

Customer Service is via chat and email. They always reply to chat questions quickly, but once in a while they do not reply to my email questions during certain hours of the day.

Few negatives:
Each lesson is only 45 minutes, not the full hour. I understand that teachers need time to write the student’s progress report after each lesson. But this should not take 15 minutes.
They use Zoom for lessons, which does not save messages for the students (guests) of meetings. So many students lose their lesson notes (chat content) unless they copy and paste them before the lesson ends.

Some teacher’s hours are always fully booked. They allow students to book up to five days in advance. Students can choose three favorite teachers, which allows students to book such teachers up to seven days in advance. In fact the only way to book some popular teachers is to select them as favorites and book them 7 days in advance.

My teacher is really fantastic. She is so patient with such a slow student such as I. I recommend this place to everyone who is taking the french language very seriously in their language learning endeavors.

I've had a great experience on LingoCulture working with my French teacher Sofiane. LingoCulture lets me book daily lessons so I have developed a great rapport with him over the past few months. I signed up for this service because I recently moved to France and didn't know any French. I started working with my teacher for a few hours each morning, six days per week, and I have seen my French level improve drastically since I started. My friends and family have been complimenting me on how fast I am learning the language which really boosts my confidence and makes me want to keep learning.

Since I get to work with the same teacher everyday we have developed a friendship, which makes the lessons more fun and engaging for me. This is the first time in my life I have successfully been able to learn a new language, and I couldn't have done it without the expertise and dedication of my teacher Sofiane.

This is an excellent platform for learning French. I believe that getting as much practice actually as possible actually speaking is critical to learning a language. The unlimited format has helped me a lot in this goal. I have found that there is a good availability of tutors that fit my schedule and that the teachers have good audio quality. Another aspect I have really enjoyed is the cultural exchange and getting to know the tutors and learning about their culture/daily life/etc.

After using multiple language apps and classes for years, I’ve made more progress with the one on one sessions with LingoCulture in one month than in a year with any app. The price is reasonable and, with the choice of teachers, I can work with several to focus on specific areas—grammar, conversation, pronunciation.

I always look forward to my classes on Lingoculture. The teachers are great and we cover diverse and interesting material. I just finished a class with Hayat, she is truly a fantastic teacher! I am able to have such a fun and natural conversation with her. When I make a grammatical error, she corrects me in a gentle and helpful manner that keeps the conversation flowing all while teaching me important points of grammar.

Great way to get unlimited practice with French conversations. I purchased a month during the Black Friday sale and was able to set up frequent lessons. The tutors were all very nice and helpful. They’re all native speakers of French and I received a lot of great pointers regarding my accent/pronunciation of words. Lessons were easy to log into via Zoom and though there was a period of time where there were technical difficulties due to the Zoom contract renewal, I believe that has all been resolved. I liked being able to set up lessons a few days in advance and there were typically teachers available even when I booked a lesson same-day. Being on the West Coast, the scheduling availability was less limited so I would recommend that you either be an early bird or plan to take your lessons on the weekends.

I always enjoy my classes with Hayat. I schedule classes with her regularly. I enjoy the diverse conversations that allow me to gain knowledge across a wide variety of topics and to broaden my vocabulary. I particularly appreciate her heavy focus on grammar as one of my key goals is to address my small grammatical errors during conversations.

My schedule varies week to week and the flexibility offered by LingoCulture has been a game changer for me to improve my French! Great platform to learn French: achieved C1 level amd could not have done it without them.

Worst ever platform. too costly for a student. No teachers available at your time. Few faculties were about to sleep in between lecture. Some faculties have worst audio video quality. one faculty was laughing at my mistake. Also they will charge you automatically for next month subscription. And if you want refund of that you will need to wait one or half hour in chat. And even after that request they forgot to refund me. i again waited so long to chat with them. And then i got the refund but i lost 20$ in refund. because when they automatically deducted from my account. But my account is Canadian. So i lost my money in currency change. and to remove my credit card from my account i will need to chat with them. So, they can deduct your money till you remember to cancel it. Worst Worst service. I wasted my time a lot in this platform not to learn anything just to cancel my subscription. And without learning or using their platform i lost my money.

You can book lessons at any time and take as many classes as you want. The teachers adapt to your needs and your level of French and the lessons are fun.
