I cannot speak for other peoples experiences, but for me so far, I've had a very solidly good experience.

I've found that my plan manager is diligent about paying my invoices on time, I can always ask her questions about it, and sometimes she'll even call in and check in on me to confirm funding and make sure I'm going okay.

The only time I've had an issue is when she went on break and no one told me, so for a bit there were some invoices that went unchecked and did cause some small issues, but once I reached out they sorted it immediately. I think it would've been fine if I had been updated or an email had been sent saying to contact X person while they fill the role for my main. But once it was figured out it was fixed up quickly and no issues since then and I defiantly get emails for when people are out of office on break.

On the carers side it has been nice and super helpful so far. Be it from the coordinator to the individual support workers. They've all taken my requests with no issue such as helping me do grocery shopping, meal prep/cooking, transport to appointments (even very far appointments). You've just got to tell the coordinator your general needs/wants especially with time for me and she checks in beforehand to which I give a yes or no and we go from there. They've all been quite nice so far and to me seemingly quite understanding.

The only thing I really wish AFEA had was an app to check in on funds on the plan manager side and an app to check in/help coordinator with support workers. Like maybe you could put in your times/general needs and the coordinator can work from that and help assign the appropriate carer, but then you could also see who was coming that day.

Having said all that not having an app isn't a huge issue, it would just be a nice ease. The more important factor is the people behind it and how they manage the plans or treat the people who need the carers. At least for me, it's been a pretty positive experience.

It's on time with coming or if not they ring, they are helpful, the service is not like any other.

Plus the professional communication from AFEA’s administration staff, who constantly inform me of any changes to schedules, as well as inviting regular updates as to the services provided. Great work!
