I have no idea what I'm supposed to do…

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with the 4 plastic thingy and 4 screws and the red and green wires labeled L and N sticking out of the lamp to make it work. No instructions were included. I unfortunately didn't check out the reviews first. There's no place to put a battery or lightbulb. No electric plug.

Poor scam of a company

Poor scam of a company!

I ordered my item on the 16th February, it is now the 2nd March and there is no sign of it. The royal mail tracking number is fake and I have waiting for the customer service chat to respond for over 30 minutes. The item hasnt left their premises and I would like my money back!

Wish I had read the reviews!

Not a UK based company as advertised

Not a UK based company as advertised. Returns are at your cost to China. I emailed Lamps modern and told them to that I wanted to return my items (no problem with the actual items - they just weren’t right for us) and that’s when they gave me an address in China. This isn’t disclosed in their returns policy or at check out - and it is supposed to be. I asked for a refund without return or a UK returns address and they offered me various percentages of refund (eventually up to 50%) and to keep the item, but I wanted my money back. I paid through PayPal so opened a dispute with them - Lampsmodern immediately offered me a full refund if I closed the case. I refused to close the case and they continued to string me along with promises of a refund through the open case. I gave up and escalated the case to PayPal and have had a full refund without having to return the items. Hugely disappointed with the whole experience.

Really poor quality.

Bought two ceiling lamps which were absolutely rubbish. We didn't even use them. Poor build and material quality (and faulty). Not even worth 1/3 of what they cost.
Also customer service was good at first, but when you ask for a refund, they seem to go all shy.
We've provided photos to them but, as yet, no reply.

Please do not buy from this company. Buyers Beware!!

Buyers beware! This is not a UK based Company and the product I received was nothing more than a box full of parts that I was expected to assemble - and I'm not comparing it to an IKEA flatpack, or an item that you simply bolt together the main parts together then fit to the ceiling (which might be reasonable). This 'ceiling light' required EVERY part to be assembled, including the wiring, every single screw etc as if it were intended for a factory assembly line! The instructions are entirely useless; for example 'step one' and 'step four' are incomprehensible and identical. Even if I did have the skill set to build an entire light fitting from scratch like some weird, high stakes, meccano project, I have zero confidence that this item meets safety standards and would not dare to attempt to connect it to the electricty for fear of it being a fire hazard. I wish I had done appropriate due diligence and not relied on their website / their own website reviews. I don't believe any are genuine based on the box of rubbish I received today :-(

Wanted to return my item

Possibly the only time I ordered…

Possibly the only time I ordered without looking at reviews!! I was fooled into thinking this was a UK company...it is not!

After waiting a considerably long time for our light to arrive, we were hugely disappointed to say the least.

The light fitting was like something we had never seen before! The wiring was beyond unsafe.

First contact with the company I was told I could receive 20 percent off if kept the item or I could send back abroad at my own cost.

I refused and stated I would be reporting the business, they then offer 50 percent before providing a full refund.

Do not buy from this company but if it's too late, keep persisting!!

Warning to all the UK customer

Warning to all the UK customers.Do not purchase from this site. In case you need to return your unwanted purchase there is no UK address to send it.
The return address is in China (kind of dodgy address) which will cost you minimum £40 to send them back( you as a buyer need to pay for the return cost).
Seriously it is not worth it to do business with them. They are not in the UK.
I spent a good part of last four months to claim my money back from PayPal after countless telephone conversations.

Lampsmodern doesn’t even deserve this star. Absolutely horrendous company to deal which is based in China - not the UK which gives the illusion it is. Do not order anything from this company. I ordered two lights on the 18 November. 3 weeks later one arrived, the other one I was told is still in transit? Doesn’t it make sense to put two lights in one box? I’ve been chasing time and time again. Refused to give my money back and have been told to wait for my 2nd light to be delivered. WHEN??? Awful customer service and shouldn’t be allowed to trade. You have been warned.

Overall not a good experience buying…

Overall not a good experience buying lights from Lampsmodern.
I ordered 2 lights costing £179 only 1 arrived after weeks of waiting.
There were no updates on when the light guts were arriving, then when half of what I ordered did turn up the quality was really poor, I wouldn’t put it up in my house.

Would have had far better quality and service had I gone to Dunelm or B&Q.

Looks like I will just be writing off the £49 for the light that never arrived 🤬.

They mislead consumers …

In my opinion they’re misleading consumers as it looks that you are buying from a company in the UK, but it’s actually Chinese. First of all, I don’t have any problem buying Chinese things as most of things nowadays come from China, some good quality and some really bad. But, Lampsmodern UK should be more transparent before consumers make a purchase, because once you buy something forget you will not be able to return it, if you try it’ll cost you a ridiculous amount of money without guarantee that they’ll refund the money paid for the item. The item I purchased, a mounted ceiling lamp costs £180 and it took 3 weeks to arrive, they did reply to my emails with a bit of delay, but no much explanation of the item journey and the tracking number did not work. Finally the item was delivered, the structure is not too bad, but the plastic that works as shade is very poor and bad quality. Also, once the lighting is on you can see the marks of cables and metal through the shade. I would have returned if purchased from a reliable source where I could return and be refunded, which is not the case. A lesson to be learnt, but in the future I need to make sure I ready the review and done a bit of more research about the company, therefore, I do not recommend buying stuff that comes directly from
China (including this company) unless they have a representative in the UK/EU. Also, the lighting has no UK/EU label of safety and etc.
