Unilateral Contract Breach & Forced 800% Price Hike Mid-Term – Stay Away!
I am writing this review to warn anyone considering hosting services with iON Cloud / Krypt by VPLS. They do not honor active, pre-paid annual contracts and will unilaterally force massive price hikes on existing customers mid-term.
The Situation:
I had an active, fully pre-paid annual VPS contract valid from December 10, 2025, through December 09, 2026 (Specifications: 1 vCPU / 2GB RAM / 40GB Storage / 1TB Bandwidth).
On July 31, 2026—with over 4 months still remaining on my fully paid contract—they unilaterally notified me that starting August 1, 2026, my service would be forcefully upgraded to a $40.00/month plan.
The Response from Billing:
When I formally objected and requested them to honor the remainder of my paid billing term through December 2026, their billing representative explicitly refused, stating they will not maintain legacy pricing and gave an ultimatum: either accept the massive monthly price increase or cancel the service.
Why You Should Avoid iON Cloud / Krypt:
Zero Contract Integrity: A pre-paid agreement means nothing to them. They will breach active contracts and change terms whenever it suits their financial motives.
Bait-and-Switch Tactics: Forcefully pushing an unrequested 8x price hike ($40/month) on existing customers mid-contract is standard practice for them.
Uncompromising Support: Customer support offers zero reasonable lower-tier alternatives, refusing to honor paid terms.
If you value business ethics, contract integrity, and transparent billing, DO NOT host your infrastructure with iON Cloud or Krypt by VPLS. They will alter your paid service without consent and force you off their network.
