Don’t trust these guys! I invested $8,000 just before noon at 11:58 AM. Everything looked fine until 7:30 PM, when the platform suddenly required another payment before releasing funds. Klum pesters Has been helpful.

This was my first time trying Kickstarter. I backed & paid for 2 projects, I then paid separately for both shipping methods. More money! I've yet to receive anything, my first backed project was July 2025, 8 Months ago 😡 very poor communication, absolute joke. Will never use again, don't go near, shop about.

C’est une plateforme qui profite de la confiance des gens pour détourner des millions d'euros sans scrupules. J'ai moi-même contribué le 30 décembre 2023, avec une livraison prévue pour avril 2024, mais depuis, plus rien. Le créateur du projet s'est enfui avec l'argent et Kickstarter ne prend aucune responsabilité. Il serait grand temps de réfléchir sérieusement à l'interdiction de ce type d'entreprise sur le territoire français, car ce genre de comportement mafieux ne devrait pas être toléré.

I confirm all the comments below. You have less then 50% chance to collect item you pledge. If creator is realiable you will receive what you paid for but if seller is a rat kickstarter won’t help you either. Kickstarter collect its commission and has nothing else to do about frauds that creators do at their site. I’ve pledged 3 projects which reach the goal and then contact with creators cuts off and that’s it.

Simply accomplices in theft. I have funded a project which concluded their fundraising, but never sent the finished product, and does not answer us. Kickstarter simply does not care. They take zero responsability in this. It is revolting. They told me to contact the funds raiser... where?? Who are they?? Is this a joke???

I invested a lot of money with Kickstarter and lost a lot by either not getting my pledges (Kickstarter will not help) or finding the same products for much a cheaper price and already available for delivery.
Several of the projects coming on Kickstarter are already in the market for 1/2 the price. Take for example the newly launched Maker Pro : 17-in-1 Multipurpose Tool Set and which is sold on Kickstarter for 449$ while you can find a larger set on AliExpress for almost 1/2 the price 286.08$ under Oscillating Multi-Tools For Brushless Electric Treasure Multi-purpose Treasure Kit Tool Drill Bit Chainsaw Reciprocating

Kickstarter seems to do very little to vet the companies that it allows on its platform. I backed a vinylsonic record cleaner over a year ago and have heard nothing since April of 2023. Another record cleaner kickstarter (from the same group of people) was suspended last minute by the company. However, those of us that backed the first kickstarter are left without any way to get a refund for our backing. This seems to be an obvious scam but we have received absolutely no response from Kickstarter about any of our complaints about the project. It is sad to see the crowdsourcing idea tarnished by these fraudulent companies.

Never again! Stay as far away as possible.

Kickstater will not reply or even acknowledge when a project fails. According to their terms of use there are safeguards against failed projects but the scams continue without any resistance from Kickstarter

Multiple products to back on the site are fronts for the "creator" to scam investors of their money with no intent on delivering project. Kickstarter doesn't want to take action, as they profit based on a commission earned on the seed funding. Kickstarter is likely aware of this and acts as an accessory to fraud.

Von der Idee selbst ganz gut, aber leider tummeln sich dort inzwischen viele Betrüger und Kickstarter hilft nicht trotz Verstoss der Betrüger gegen die Kickstarter Regeln.
Die Chancen tatsächlich ein brauchbares Produkt zu erhalten sind wie ein Lotterielos.
Kickstarter hat nur Interesse daran viele Projekte ausschreiben zu können.

You intend to help start ups and you feed well organised frauds. kickstarter assumes absolutely no responsability. to be abused, go away.

No regulations against scams, frauds, companies abusing rules and taking advantage of backers.
Probably that is it.
After 30+ backed projects, I am not going to support these anymore.

I ordered a G1 Infrared thermal jacket over one and a half years ago through the Kickstarter concept, nearly £200.00. The Jacket suppliers are a bunch of liars and thieves, promising much and delivering just enough to appear credible and avoid prosecution. There are hundreds of people that are badly out of pocket and Kickstarter couldn't give a fig! All I've had from every query and then complaints is lies and platitudes from the supplier and Kickstarter, we'll get back to you etc... Yeah, like we were born yesterday! I and many friends will never use Kickstarter again until they prove to be honest and have their investor's interests at heart.

This whole experience has been sickening! Use Kickstarter at your risk!

Be very careful with Kickstarter!!
They sell counterfeit, and cheap Chinese products for a lot of money.
