Tickets are now £25 but because we truly care about making Kew inclusive, we've introduced £10 tickets on Tuesdays for a few months. Ridiculous. The Palm House is undergoing construction so there's not much to see there. Many areas were cordoned off in the gardens for maintenance. So basically - if you can't afford £25 tickets, come for £10 at a time when the gardens are under renovation. Definitely not what I expected from such a respectable institution. The Henry Moore art exhibition is also an absolute joke. Putting on an abstract art exhibition that clearly caters to a certain audience, rather than uplifting art that truly educates at a time we are experiencing climate catastrophes, feels so out of touch.

Hi Tate, thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Our Palm House is currently being decanted to prepare for a renovation in 2027. However, with our other glasshouses, galleries and attractions like the Treetop Walkway and the Hive still available, we think that our tickets, particularly the £10 Tuesday ticket, are still good value for money. We will pass on your feedback about the tickets, as well the the Henry Moore exhibition, to the gardens management team for consideration! -Adara

The play areas are great but the food is terrible. I paid £31.50 for three children’s lunch boxes. A manky old sandwich with liquid pig ham in it. The sandwich my friend paid for had little to no filling. Do better Kew! If you go take your own food.

Our main priority is ensuring our trees and ecosystems continue to thrive for years to come, so our team manage animal populations in a variety of ways. Please Boycott due to animal cruelty
I find the fact that Kew Gardens have culled 400 adult squirrels during baby season absolutely disgusting. They have left babies still in the nest to die from starvation and that is truelly unforgivable. I've always wanted to visit Kew as I am an avid gardener, I will never visit them now. What the hell were they thinking. Hang your heads in shame Kew and remember those tiny babies dying slowly!!

I sent an email 4 days ago to cancel my membership after trying unsuccessfully to call them as advised on their website. This states you can call or email but after trying to phone on 10 occasions at diffent times and days each time I get the same message about experiencing a high volume of calls and to try later or email. I realise now there is no one manning the call centre and this an automated message. I also have not had a response to my email. This is not what I would have expected from an organisation of such high calibre and having been a member for many years.

Cream Tea
We went and loved walking round the estaste. Suffering badly from the heat which is understandable. We had a cream tea which was nice but the scones were the size of dough balls. Do t think i have ever seen such small scones so that was dissapointing. Service was good though. The cost of items in the shop where crazy prices. Totally out of our reach. £10 for a tiny clover in a pot much smaller than an egg cup. Im Sure it would be more benificial to sell a lot cheaper than fewer more expensive. Just a shame

Disappointed Kew Gardens
Giving Kew Gardens a One Star review is a compliment. I've wanted to go there for so long. So, so disappointed with the Estate. They should be ashamed of themselves at the non welcome that they gave to the late Princess of Wales (Diana) House. All the plants at the Entrance were be-draggled. The Rose Gardens appalling & dry. The Noddy train pick up's Non Existent, Signage - Not Good. Brasserie & toilets (especially toilets) filthy. Only cream teas served in Brasserie 2-5pm !!
The main House & Kitchen were nice to see & the staff were very helpful & informative.

Unnecessary killing of 400 squirrels in April and May 2026
It used to be my favourite park (and I was considering buying a membership) until I found out from the charity "Urban Squirrels " that "Kew Gardens killed 400 grey squirrels in April and May 2026. They stopped in June. For now. Our Freedom of Information response reveals there was no numerical squirrel population estimate, no target population, and no quantified damage record behind the decision.".
I'm sorry, but I will boycott Kew Gardens from now on.

I have been a few times over the years and it is always lovely to visit. My favourite time to visit is in the spring but pretty much any time of the year is great. The light show in the winter is great too, would highly recommend.

Disappointed
We had a virgin experience day given to us by our granddaughter entrance and cream tea for 2 . We were looking forward for the cream tea but what a disappointment. A scone a pot of jam literally thrown on the plate as was the cream . I know it’s London but for the price and what you get and how it’s served disappointing is an understatement. The gardens themselves were ok but it’s not a place we would want to visit in the future as it’s to expensive for what it is

An amazing place to visit so many plants, flowers and wonderful trees. I had a fantastic day. The one disappointment was the underwhelming full cream tea served in the Botanical Brasserie. We had the (vegetarian) option for 2 of us which came to £80 and it was frankly awful. Poor quality and served 2 tiny wraps one filled with mashed sweet potato, one with an onion bhaji and a finger sandwich with lettuce and tomato. It was the worst cream tea I have ever eaten.

My membership has not renewed on expiry…
My membership has not renewed on expiry - last direct debit was taken in May 2025. I have emailed customer services but received standard reply … busy etc as is phone line. I tried renewing online but the system does not take you to the next step when you click on ‘continue’. Last year I did not receive my automatically renewed membership card until around 5 weeks after the renewal date. What is going on?

Voucher didn't work
Visited on 1st May. Was told my Virgin experience voucher should not have been activated by me, and that the ticket office staff at Kew are the ones that should have activated it, ( even though I followed the prompts on the webpage ). Was told I had to pay and get a refund from Virgin when I got home .Still no refund or explanation !

Kew Gardens are to use 'kill' boxes to eradicate grey squirrels in the area. There is no indication on other methods being attempted, or whether these boxes are indeed ethical/painless or whether they are left in there to starve to death. Shameful way to treat any animal, but cheap, I'd assume. Disgusting attitude to wildlife.

Impossible to contact on the phone, just cuts off, not even a queue . I have a ticketing issue and could not get in touch. Emails are not answered. Bear in mind that in the event you need to contact them it is not possible

Poor customer services
We bought joint membership online 2 weeks ago. My partner got the email confirmation and updates, but I didn’t get any. I tried to email the membership division twice, no response. I tried to call their number couple of times in the last few days. No one picked up the call. Is their any other way to contact Kew other than writing in trustpilot?
