Kayaking the lofoten island Norway has been something I’ve wanted to do for ages

Finally I’ve completed the adventure

This was my second Kandoo adventures tour.

The whole experience is absolutely amazing and far exceeded my expectations

My guide met me at Bodo airport. We talked through my expectations and the program, including Any Dietary requirements

A 3 hour ferry journey to Moskenes starts the journey

We paddled every day in up to 2 hour blocks. Conditions were spectacular and mostly sunny but program changed slightly when weather not so good. The scenery even more special than any footage I’d watched.

Camping by the waters edge. Some camp sites more challenging than others to land at and set up. I became proficient in setting up and taking down my tent, washing the dishes after meals and packing the kayak for the day.

My guide at every step was expert in keeping me safe, entertained and fed. The food at every meal was fun and delicious camping food.

We had 2 magical hikes. Nicely challenging

All equipment supplied worked as expected

At the end of the journey. Time is spent cleaning all borrowed equipment at their base hut

Then the journey back to moskenes ready for the ferry back to Bodo

Sadly the orcas always seemed to be where I was yesterday

I managed a little kayak fishing to top off the whole experience

This Lofoten Island kayak journey is one I can highly recommend.

My husband and I went to Tanzania with Kandoo in August, and they did a great job with providing thorough information and quick communication leading up to our trip, and we had a great experience while there. We'd love to travel with Kandoo again in the future!

Our Kilimanjaro trek (Machame route) exceeded my expectation. It was tough but the Kandoo team of guides, porters and chefs made it memorable. I am a 70-year-old who never believed I would reach the summit, but they did everything they could to help me realise my dream. I could not have expected anything more from them.

I took the Markha Valley and Kang Yatse II Trek with Kandoo Adventures in July 2025. The trip was incredibly well organized and excellent at every step. My guide, Norboo, met me at the airport with the driver that was with us until the trek started. The vehicle was modern and in great condition, and the driver was skilled and safe. The trip started with monastery and museum tours, some of which were very off the beaten path and infrequently visited by tourists. The guide was incredibly informative about the culture, traditions, and history of the monasteries, the region, and the religion. Once on the trek, we were joined by the cook and ponyman, who were both very skilled and professional. Meals throughout the trip were tasty and food was plentiful. On later days of the trek, it was beneficial to have my own protein bars, as protein was limited in meals. Breakfast, lunch, tea with snacks, and dinner were all prepared and provided. The scenery along the trek was beautiful and like nothing I'd ever seen before. Wildlife was plentiful and very diverse. Expect a lot of down time in the afternoons and evenings, but relaxation will be necessary after the high altitude trekking. The summit was difficult but not technically challenging. Required skills are limited to walking with a rope team and glacier walking on crampons, but coming into the trip with experience on a training peak would add to comfort when suddenly combining these skills with 6000m of elevation. The summit is not a very common addition to the trek, so you can expect a much more peaceful summit attempt compared to other peaks of similar difficulty. The guide, Norboo, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I took this trip solo and the other people scheduled for the tour canceled, so I was fully solo on this trek. Norboo was incredibly friendly throughout and was very proactive in making sure I never felt lonely. There was excellent communication between all drivers, guides, and Kandoo staff, and every step of the trips went exactly according to plan even with the incredibly remote off-grid location and heavy rains. This trip was an incredible experience coordinated by an excellent team that I strongly recommend.

From the minute i arrived in Tanzania i was taken care of by Kandoo and their guides with special thanks to Raymond as i was older (75) and he took that into account and protected me. they were punctual at all times.
their advice along the way was correct.
The food was a lot better than i expected.
The guides and porters were friendly and happy and even sang along with us.
The toilet facilities were excellent considering.
The accommodation arranged by them at all the places was more than adequate.
Over all I was very satisfied with the trip even though it was a bit tougher than i expected.

Excellent experience, friendly crew and porters. Everything from the airport pick up to climb Kilimanjaro was well planned and done flawlessly will definitely be looking at using Kandoo again!

My trip to Tanzania was a wonderful lifetime experience. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was one of the most difficult, but also one of the most amazing, wonderful, great and simply the best experience in my life. Our team was fantastic! Thanks from the bottom of my heart to all porters, chef, waiter and guides, they were amazing. They were like a family for me for all time during our journey, very kind, supportive, always happy, helpful and I felt very safe and in great hands all the time. Also our safari trip was so great! Great company, easy to contact, always helpful. The team in Tanzania were also amazing, they were so reassuring when my luggage was delayed and also when I had to descend early due to altitude sickness. All in all a great experience, felt very well looked after by the team on my trip.

Where do I even begin? This truly was a trip of a lifetime. Firstly the communication I received from the office was fantastic. I had originally planned to travel with friends in March but due to unforeseen circumstances had to delay my journey and travel alone in June. They were so helpful in changing my trip and talking me through everything, it didn't cost a penny more and genuinely was seamless! I would absolutely travel with Kandoo again and have already planned possible trips for the future. In terms of the team out in Tanzania I'd firstly like to say our guides (Robert, Ambrosi, Jo, Marro) they where hands down part of the biggest reason I'd be going back to do it all over again in the click of a finger. Robert's expertise was second to none! He was so patient and calm even when those who fell ill from altitude couldn't make it, he knew exactly what to do and dealt with it so professionally. His knowledge brought so much ease and trust to the group and we genuinely wouldn't have done so well without him! we had a mixed bag of capabilities and he did everything within his power to cater to each and every one of us, encouraging those who struggled and congratulating those who thrived, truly we where so grateful and enjoyed the climb so much more knowing he was with us. We had many other guides with us and each of them were fantastic in their own right being a massive part of getting us safely to the top but also in taking care of those who needed to descend! the support from them was phenomenal. I'd also like to thank our safari guide I believe his name was Aidano. He went above and beyond to make it as special as possible, spotting animals in the distance and assisting us with finding those rare sightings of Rhino and Leopard. He was wonderful and every day came with a fantastic positive energy and ample amounts of knowledge about the animals and the locations we visited.

Amazing trip organised by Kandoo in Tanzania. Pre departure communications were timely and clear. We added a safari package onto our trip and enjoyed the knowledge of Godwin our guide. Kilimanjaro went very smoothly, especially on summit night where the experience of our guides Wendolin and Godfrey really shone through, making the experience a trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend.

My trip in Bhutan was a once in a lifetime experience! The staff and guides were really what made it. Our lead guide was very intelligent and informed us all about the natural plants and animals, the countries history and government, Bhuddism and the religious aspects of the country and its temples, and overall was very helpful and kind. Our cooking staff on the trek always prepared amazing meals and went and above and beyond to make our camps more than comfortable. Our drivers were safe and made a 3 hour drive fun:) (he let me have aux and we sang karaoke songs). The staff at the hotel was so happy to have us and to share their traditional meals, songs. dances, gifts, and even traditional clothes with us (I loved trying on the kira!). So many memories were made thanks to the entire Kandoo staff <3 (also so cool to see yaks and yak people in the mountains and views of the Himalayas at camp)

I have used Kandoo a couple of times and I’ve found them excellent everytime. Our guides have been great, friendly and knowledgeable and the communication and organisation has been perfect.

The Lukla to Everest Base Camp trek is an absolute must for any serious hiker. The breathtaking landscapes, towering mountain peaks, and stunning natural beauty left us in awe.
Every arrangement made by Kandoo was top-notch and professional.
Despite the trek's challenges, our guide Phurpu's expertise, positivity, and motivation kept us driven to reach the end goal.
While the teahouse accommodations were simple, the warmth and hospitality we received were incredible. Special mentions go to the Ama Dablam Lodge in Namche Bazaar and the Himalayan Lodge in Pheriche for their exceptional welcomes.
Phurpu's exceptional guidance was the key to our success and enjoyment on this trek – we couldn't recommend him highly enough!

The arrangement of emergency assistence was impressing which included the transportation and medical follow up.

Kandoo Adventures offers an absolutely outstanding trekking experience in Bhutan because of their professionalism, care, and exceptional service. Their team of guides and porters is knowledgeable, attentive, and incredibly supportive, making this experience deeply rewarding.
My guide, Ugyen, not only provided expert navigation and safety but also brought warmth and positivity, often singing and sharing local culture to uplift my spirit during tough moments. The support crew (horseman, chef, lunch boy, and Sonam the driver) earned special praise for their dedication, with availability, driving skills, delicious meals, and well-prepared campsites that added comfort to the adventure.
The quality of logistics, including well-set camps, delicious and varied meals, and comfortable equipment like high-quality tents and improved bathroom facilities, surpassed my expectations.
My guide had impressive credentials, such as advanced high-elevation first aid, which added a layer of confidence and expertise. The personalized care and responsiveness from the customer service team before and during the trip also contribute to a seamless experience.
The most challenging part of a trek is typically the combination of high altitude, steep ascents and descents, and unpredictable weather conditions. I found that physically demanding sections, like high mountain passes, pushed me to the limit due to thin air, cold temperatures, and the need for sustained effort over difficult terrain.
Acclimatization to altitude is a major challenge, as the reduced oxygen can cause fatigue, headaches, or even altitude sickness, requiring careful pacing and sometimes extra rest days. Navigating steep, rocky paths and long days of hiking can also be tough on the legs and joints, especially on descents. Mentally, the trek was demanding as well. The sheer length of the journey, coupled with physical exhaustion and occasional discomfort from cold, rain, or wind, tested my resolve.
For this reason, and after completing the Kilimanjaro’s Rongai trek (rated 4-challenging) a few years ago, I would suggest that the Chomolhari trek be rated also as 4-challenging.

From start to finish, this trip couldn’t have gone any better. I was well informed from the moment of booking until it was the to go home. Any questions I had on the run up were answered promptly.

I have to say though, a special mention to our Guide and Porters. Chhesang was absolutely top tier. He was so informative and did everything he could to ensure you were comfortable and well looked after. He always made sure we were kept safe, especially for the Black Yak! 😂 Chopaul (forgive my spelling if incorrect) one of our porters was also great. He was a great assist on the tougher bits and always quick to offer a hand! Also have to mention our other porter who’s name escapes me (again, apologies), but he did a bulk of the work too making sure that our bags always made to to where we were staying.

Now to the teahouses - these were all fabulous! In particular the Ama Dablam Lodge and Restaurant in Namche Bazaar and the Himalayan Lodge in Pheriche. These were both stand outs for me. The hospitality and food offered was great and exactly what was needed after a day of hiking.

All in all I would fully advise anyone to take part in a trip with Kandoo and especially with the Guide and Porters we were lucky to have.

Kandoo provided excellent service and support for our recent safari. Tony was an outstanding guide, whose knowledge and insight was invaluable to helping us fully appreciate and understand the amazing ecosystems and wildlife in Tanzania. Tony was engaging, funny, and safety minded, and wowed us with his knowledge of animal behavior.

Kandoo is on top of things! All was taken care of while I was in Peru - airport pickup, hotels, shuttles, tickets, etc. Guides are top notch and are locals who speak several languages and know their way around.

My only complaint was that Kandoo took my deposit for a trek in Peru in February, which is the middle of the rainy season. They did not warn me of this. Fortunately no one else signed up (they were all smarter than me) so my trip was bumped to a different trek in late March was was, it turned out, still the rainy season,
