Amazing website, couldn't have done TMUA without it, helped so much to have new papers which were more difficult and so useful to be able to track progress and see corrections.

Hi, I’m Joe Zhou, a maths tutor with over 20 years of experience and the person behind JZMaths, an online TMUA preparation platform. I built JZMaths to share more widely what I do with my own students: help them understand maths, think clearly, and approach unfamiliar problems with greater confidence. The platform focuses on preparation for the Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA). I’m working with fellow maths tutor Jackie Tyler to develop and carefully review the resources. We both contribute original papers and work together on checking questions and solutions, with an emphasis on clear explanations and suitability for the TMUA. You’ll find free practice questions, original mock papers, worked solutions, a logic course and an online exam simulator. Students can practise individual topics, sit timed papers, revisit mistakes and follow their progress. Optional paid PLUS resources provide additional original exam papers, with free access available to eligible students receiving free school meals. Our approach centres on understanding why things work: exploring ideas that make difficult questions simpler, and the misconceptions that can trip us up. Alongside the website, I share free teaching videos on the JZMaths YouTube channel. Since launching this summer, I’ve been very grateful for the support and encouragement from students. Their questions, suggestions and willingness to point out things we could do better have helped shape JZMaths, and continue to make the resources clearer and more useful. Whether you use the free resources or PLUS, I hope JZMaths makes your preparation a little easier—and perhaps helps you enjoy the maths along the way.

JZMath for the TMUA
JZMath was a site I came across after I saw a video by popular creator R2Drew2 in preparation for my TMUA November sitting in 2026.
Initially I just used it for the exam simulator which was nice since I was writing down all my answers on a piece of paper and marking afterwards, however once I got into it, it was quite helpful for tracking what I was doing and where I was going with my practice.
Eventually I came across his logic notes and from there my performance on paper 2 greatly improved, mostly because of his really nice worksheets which gave a lot of ample practice for logic questions.
Come TMUA day, I'm still quite nervous, and paper 1 doesn't go fully to plan, however paper 2 went really smoothly, very much in part due to the help that the logic notes gave me in boosting my performance in that aspect.
Overall, great simulator, good statistics and tracking, great notes.

Thanks for taking the time to write this. It’s good to hear the logic notes and worksheets made a real difference on Paper 2. That section rewards practice more than people expect, and it sounds like you put the practice in. Sorry Paper 1 didn’t go fully to plan; that happens to plenty of strong candidates on the day. Fingers crossed for your results.

I've used the JZmaths website for around a month now in preparing for my TMUA. The Mock Sets and Exam Sets are excellent but can be quite challenging! Working through these will definitely prepare you extremely well for the actual TMUA.

A lot of people
A lot of people, especially this year r just looking for a cash grab with Tmua being officially introduced to oxbridge maths and other courses. and the lack of recent past papers. JZ is by far the best in the new industry for ethics and quality, which is a great combination.

Our aim has always been to make high-quality TMUA preparation accessible and affordable, and to put students' interests first. I'm really pleased that this has come across.
Great experience
Great experience, up to date and quite accurate. Whilst other TMUA resources tend to invoke a sort of "fear mongering" with off-spec topics and questions that are unlikely to come up, JZ Maths does the opposite and provides plenty of resources that are free or at a readily available price. His papers encourage thinking and problem solving that are great not only for TMUA but good for anyone looking to study math-adjacent topics at a higher level, and the site also provides direct feedback and highlights weak points in your knowledge. Without naming other people working in a similar field, the prices charged are entirely reasonable AND accessible for his paid resources, and he continues to be entirely transparent, be it with calibration or the difficulty of his papers. I'm grateful that I was able to use JZ Maths for my TMUA revision, and hopeful that my exams go well thanks to it.

The quality of the materials is excellent—carefully put together by experienced tutors. They are much better than most of the far more expensive resources I’ve tried. I wish I’d discovered JZMaths sooner! I especially love the mock-test feature, which gives a realistic feel for the exam under timed conditions. Highly recommended!
