I was disappointed with my experience

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST PRIME HEALTH

I am updated on my experience as it has gotten much worse. :

My experience with Prime Health’s compounded tirzepatide program was (and still is? a nightmare and I’m sharing this so others don’t waste their money or risk their health.

1. Underdosed from the Start
They started me at 2.1mg (lower than the standard 2.5mg) and capped me at 4.2mg without lab work. Many providers START higher than that, yet Prime Health still charges full market rates. Over 8 weeks, I only lost 3 pounds, because my dose was never high enough to be effective (and I now believe my medication was not what it claimed to be)

2. Missing Medication, and No Real Resolution
My second shipment was missing a dose. I didn’t notice until week 3 since it’s all in one vial. I was told they’d “add it to my next order,” but that would have forced me to stay at a too-low dose for 5 more weeks. Their policies make it almost impossible to fix mistakes without disrupting treatment.

3. New Safety Concerns with Second Month’s Vial
The short filled vial from my second month caused reactions I never experienced from my first vial. Raised, inflamed patches at each injection site that itched and flared up week after week, despite rotating injection locations. This had never happened with my first shipment, even though both supposedly came from the same pharmacy and had the same formula. That inconsistency is a serious red flag.

4. Lab Work Bottleneck
To increase beyond 4.2mg, you must do lab work through their partners, but appointments were unavailable for weeks. My only options: skip doses or keep paying for ineffective treatment.

5. Shady Pharmacy Practices
When I asked for a refund for the missing dose, I was told they could only replace it c except that pharmacy no longer even offers GLP-1s. I would have to “rejoin” and be reassessed. This is deeply concerning for any patient’s safety.

6. I Switched, and the Difference Is Night and Day
I left Prime Health for Ro, which partners directly with Lilly Direct for Zepbound, FDA approved and no stress about what I might be injecting in myself. It’s about $150 more per month more, but I now get a new vial each week which feels more sanitary m, have zero injection, site issues and after explaining my ordeal they started me at 5mg for the treatment and I feel confident I’m getting exactly what I’m paying for.

My Advice:
• Research the pharmacy — Ask your provider for the exact pharmacy name, then check it against your state’s Board of Pharmacy license database.
• Look up complaints — Search “[pharmacy name] + reviews” and “[pharmacy name] + complaints” to see if others have reported issues.
• Verify manufacturing standards — A legitimate compounding pharmacy should be PCAB-accredited and compliant with USP 797 standards for sterile medications.
• Watch for red flags — Sudden changes in side effects, inconsistent medication quality, or evasive answers about sourcing are warning signs.
• Insist on transparency — If a provider won’t share which pharmacy they use, walk away.

I’m still waiting for my refund as I will never take any medication through prime health again.

Dosing Protocols:
Our compounded tirzepatide is prescribed in alignment with clinical guidelines, and initial doses are often customized based on individual response and safety protocols. Starting doses may vary slightly depending on your provider’s assessment, with gradual titration to support tolerability and minimize side effects. That said, your concern about feeling “stuck” on a lower dose is completely valid— and we’re actively working to improve communication around dose escalation timelines and requirements like lab work.

Shipping Experience:
We sincerely apologize for the missing dose in your shipment and the delay in addressing it. That’s not the level of service we strive to provide. If there is ever a concern about your medication, our support line is available to help escalate concerns to our live CMA's.

Lab Work:
We recognize that limited appointment availability in regard to scheduling labs caused delays in your care. While we partner with labs across the country, we’re always aiming to better streamline our services so that patients don’t feel stuck waiting for next steps.

We never want any patient to feel like their time or money was wasted. Your feedback is important and is already being used to guide improvements in how we communicate, dose, and support our members throughout treatment.

Worst customer service and quality…

Worst customer service and quality service. Received medication shipped 2 day air in 90+ heat with 1 freezer pack. Freezer pack was melted and warm to touch. Contacted customer service immediately and provided pictures and information. Was told the medication was still good according to pharmacy. I told them there was no way of knowing the amount of excessive heat it was exposed to and therefore I would not risk using a product that was either degraded, of worst contaminated. Requested either a replacement or money back. Over a week later and nothing but excuses. I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute and canceled account. Update 06/25/2025. An associate named Gracie contacted me and asked how they could make it right. I told them to replace the defective medication and we could continue to do business. She said she talked to her boss and offered to replace the medication and credit me $75 for my trouble. 3 hours later I received a nasty email stating they have further reviewed the issue and changed their mind. I will be reporting these scammers to every agency in New Jersey and posting as many reviews on every social media avenue to inform potential customers not to do business with them

Switched platforms GLP-1

I have been taking Tirezapide compounded since June of 2024 and the company that I have been getting it through recently went downhill and have been charging customers and not shipping out their medication and leaving them desperate. So I searched another company out and I decided to try them. I was able to get a same-day appointment and they already sent it to the pharmacy and said I will receive my medication within 3 to 5 days. The cost is a little bit higher than what I was paying before but everything is included and that means if you need Labs it's also included. I was able to provide the labs that I already had to go on a higher dose than what they wanted to provide to me. Although they did not start me on the dose that I was already on. I was previously taking 11 mg and they put me on 8.5 but they said that the next dose would be 10. It was easy to speak with a doctor and I'm happy that I'm going to finally be receiving my medication that I was desperate to get. Each month you have to see the doctor in order to get your prescription, but so far it's been pretty seamless and I am paying more but at least I'll actually be receiving my medication. I'll update you once I receive it.
