Jarrolds refused to help me return a…
My sofa arrived from JARROLDS with no packaging, no covering, no paperwork. Is this strange? Who is to say that this item has not been sent out and returned many times, such is my mistrust in the way my complaint has been dealt with and the huge difference from online website photos and the actual item. I took several close up photographs that showed the colour and texture in detail. I was confident that these would prove that my request for it to be removed with no charges incurred, would be a simple procedure..this being JARROLDS OF NORWICH. Not so. I was toldmy photographs were different from the websites, because of light changes, showroom glare and the like. In other words, my photographs were not valid even though they were requested. No, not valid.
Jarrolds refused to help me return the sofa that was purchased after I viewed on their website. The sofa was from Barker and Stonehouse. The sofa that arrived was an entirely different apearance rhan the image on Jarrolds website. It was supposed be a tawny tan colour, with even colouring with a soft leather appearance. What arrived was a dirty brown mottled colour with sad attempts to try to make it look aged and worn. Instead it was a patchework of different leathers sewn together with no attempt at cohesion, in short an ugly mess that looked more like cheap PVC than so called aged leather. Within half an hour of receiving it, I contacted JARROLDS to request a refund and for them to collect the sofa asap. I met with a wall of excuses. Not one of which addressed the starkly obvious issue of the sofa appearing nothing like the one on the online website.I paid 1200 for this two seater. I have had 200 pounds deducted for the delivery and for collection. So I have lost 200 pounds and dont have a sofa. I have received no apologies from JARROLDS ,no acknowledement of their responsibility or ownership of misrepresenting an inferior item and most certainly no help in my futile persistent attempts to recoup my losses and have an acknowledgement of my well justified complaint. I have been treated very badly, a pensioner of limited means who has been unheard during this whole sorry two day period. I am to blame apparently for not reading umpteen pages of disclaimers attached to the purchase of this range of settees sold by JARROLDS. Pages and pages of small print on my mobile phone! I am at fault for trusting the online images on JARROLDS website to be true. I have been treated appallingly, why would I put myelf through endless emails, messages and phone calls, photographs of the sofa in my home etc if I were not extemely unhappy. I was told that the images ARE TRUE and i have the sofa not one foot from my own eyes that tell me this is not the same, not by any stretch. Y So I am also presumeably colour blind and an imbecile for seeing what is clearly not there..i e. A resemblance to the sofa I ordered online from photographs on JARROLDS website. I suggest a course in customer awareness, honest marketing, paying due respect to legitimate complaints and not taking pensioners hard earned cash. I am and my family will no longer be supporters of JARROLDS of Norwich.
