I had a wonderful experience with Sonia Kanda, who was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process of securing my flat.

Sonia helped me move into my new flat within just 9 days, and she was always available whenever I had questions or needed assistance. She consistently picked up my calls, took the time to explain each step clearly, and made what could have been a stressful process feel straightforward and easy.

I really appreciate how supportive, patient, and professional Sonia was from start to finish. Her help made a huge difference, and I’m very grateful for everything she did to make the whole process so smooth.

I have dealt with the property manager Christina T, and I have after a long time experienced a good service. She keeps me updated and has considered my requests on how I would like to be approached. A very professional and kind protein.

Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience with James Laurence. I took time off work for a viewing, submitted all the requested documents within 30 minutes afterwards, at the asking price without even negotiating, and clearly explained that I needed to secure a place urgently.

Despite this, I was later told the property had already been let agreed. This happened to me repeatedly, wasting my time and even my annual leave. My credit history and background are good, and I had no issues with the checks.

They clearly do not value prospective tenants’ time. If you want a smooth and professional experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Very poor service.

Unfortunately, my recent experience with James Laurence has been extremely disappointing.

I am the landlord of a property they manage, and on 28 August I received confirmation that the property check-out would be completed on 2 September. Based on that confirmation, I arranged for my new tenants to move into the property on 3 September.

Despite the date having been agreed and confirmed, I was then informed at the last minute that the check-out may be postponed. This left me in a very difficult position, as the incoming tenants had already arranged their move based on the agreed date.

What makes the situation particularly frustrating is the lack of communication. When I tried to contact the relevant members of staff to resolve the issue urgently, neither was available.

As a landlord paying for a professional letting and property management service, I expect agreed dates to be honoured or, at the very least, any potential problems to be communicated well in advance. A last-minute change to something as important as a check-out can have significant consequences, including delaying a new tenancy and causing a loss of rental income.

Mistakes and scheduling problems can happen, but good property management is about communication, reliability and taking responsibility when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, on this occasion I don't feel the service I received met that standard.

I have raised the matter directly with James Laurence and asked them to resolve it urgently. I will update this review depending on how they handle the situation and whether they take responsibility for any losses caused by the delay.

James Laurence found me a replacement tenant very quickly & Sonia kept me informed & upto date at every stage of the process.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this estate agency and would strongly encourage anyone considering renting, buying or selling through them to think carefully.
After progressing through the rental application process, our application was withdrawn at the very last minute with little communication or explanation. We were then told that the landlord wanted to increase the rent. Despite agreeing to the higher rent to avoid losing the property, the agency failed to keep us informed of the outcome or provide any meaningful updates.
The lack of communication and consideration caused an incredible amount of unnecessary stress. We have two young children and had spent the weekend preparing for our move. We were around 90% packed and ready to leave, only to be left in limbo with no answers.
To make matters worse, I submitted a formal complaint about how the situation was handled, but no proper complaints procedure has been followed and no genuine attempt has been made to address or resolve my concerns.
I understand that landlords can change their minds and that not every tenancy proceeds as planned. However, the way this agency handled the situation was unprofessional, inconsiderate and lacking in basic communication. A simple update or honest explanation would have made a significant difference.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this agency. If you're looking to rent, buy or sell through them, be aware that communication and customer care may fall well below what you would reasonably expect.

Used James Laurence fully managed letting service. Initially received great service, however since then having lots of issues including lack of inspections, one member of staff conducting a rent review and another then saying the increase cannot be applied and not receiving a copy of contract. Numerous messages and emails go unanswered. Complaint now escalted to partner Henry Crane and awaiting response
