Thank you for raising your concern.
We’d like to clarify that the change in our charity registration number is due to a change in legal structure—not a change in organisation. Islamic Aid was originally registered as a charitable trust, but as the organisation has grown significantly, our professional advisors recommended we transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
This transformation was carried out with the full approval of the Charity Commission, and was done to enhance accountability, governance, and legal protection. A CIO structure allows a charity to enter contracts, employ staff, and hold assets in its own name—offering a more modern and robust legal framework for operations and long-term sustainability.
As this is the first year of the new legal entity, financial accounts have not yet appeared on the Charity Commission website. This is standard for all newly registered CIOs and will be updated in line with statutory reporting deadlines.
Please rest assured that Islamic Aid continues to operate under full UK charity regulations, with a commitment to transparency and ethical governance. If you would like more details about this transition or access to our past financial reports, we’d be happy to provide them—just email us at mail@islamicaid.com.
Thank you again for your concern and for holding charities to high standards. We welcome transparency and accountability in everything we do.
