The claims process is so easy and payments are quick. The website is straight forward to Navigate

I’m sorry Irish Life but I do have to say this is the worst Health Insurance you could move to. We are paying a fortune every month and I’ve had two scans done where I had to pay out the full amount at the clinic because my insurance with you didn’t cover (either scans) and to top it off it said I could claim €20 back which was so little to then be told I didn’t get €20 back because I didn’t reach excess? Anyways, I just wanted to add this review for anyone doing their research, we’ll be moving as soon as we can once contract ends, I’d recommend Laya, we moved from them and have strongly regretted that move especially in recent months. Definitely have to agree with many reviews here to say they are scamming people out of hard earned money with their policies.

Bad experience and customer support explanation. I cancelled policy on 13th January 2026.
A payment was still taken off on 28th January. I was then told that cover was only until 13th regardless that I still had to pay for complete month.

I was on a call with Imian, who was actually lovely but I was really annoyed when our call ended abruptly after nearly 30 minutes and he never attempted to call me back (I called back and was waiting for a further 15 minutes so gave up). As my current policy with another provider is due for renewal I was actually going to take the Healthguide 3 with ye as it’s coming in cheaper than my renewal but after no attempt to follow up it’s a massive red flag with your staff. I’d rather go through a broker and give them the commission for a better experience!!! Do better, your first experience with a potential customer should be better!!

A NIGHTMARE organisation to deal with who believe they are above the law - they will confirm coverage and *refuse to pay out* when claims are lodged, introduce new requirements retrospectively as conditions for paying out, *DREADFUL customer service* (aggressive and insulting) in which agents read from a script, often in poor English, not answering legitimate questions which are asked. Standard wait times on phone to get to an agent - 30-50 minutes.

Their systems and controls and tech are equally dreadful, had a policy with them for 2.5 years and *still* unable to access their online systems. Irish Life spectacularly *fail on a basic regulatory compliance* level, it is a wonder with not less than 4 different regulators that they are still in operation.

Was addimited on. Monday and discharged on Tuesday at Mater Privat. Symptoms started again today, tried to book an appointment online/over the phone to chat to a doctor and get some advice. Next avibility is in next 3 days.
If I decided to go for Mater Private Emergency, we know where I am going to end, don't we?
So, ti's healt ensurance does not really well when I really use it. Very disappointing.

BTW, called Matter, te answer was...try it again tomorrow after 09am .

The worst customer service I have ever experienced! What should be a simple claim refund has turned into an exhausting and incredibly frustrating ordeal. Customer service is completely unhelpful, unresponsive, and dismissive. It genuinely feels like Irish Health is deliberately delaying and avoiding paying out legitimate claims. This level of service is unacceptable, and I have completely lost trust in this company.

My son needed surgery in Croom orthopaedic hospital,one of the Limerick group of hospitals.Its a public hospital.If you have any injury you have to go to Limerick general hospital so the Consultant your under may follow on with surgery in Croom .Irish Life would not cover surgery in Croom.Will cover surgery in the Bon’s in Limerick🤔🤔but your Consultant only works in the public orthopaedic hospital,really .Does this make any sense.Im leaving Irish Life .Would not recommend this insurance company

Apparently receipts issued by the Beacon hospital is not good enough for them to approve my claim. They find any ridiculous excuses to not approve my claim. The receipt was not spelling everything in the exact order they'd like. They ask me to prove the exact amount I paid for each treatment. Funniest thing I've ever heard. If the hospital has to issue separate payment receipt for each test, I'd be there all day!!! And who they think would pay for those if it wasn't me?!!

Anyway save yourself some pain, don't go with them.

I phoned up to see if a procedure was covered. I was informed that it was. Ended up getting a bill saying only half covered. Not good enough. I'm with Irish life years!

DO NOT MOVE YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE TO THIS COMPANY. Appalling customer service, phone not being answered for up to 35 mins (maybe longer), app not working, claims not being honoured, I could go on and on. I can't wait to move back to Vhi.

Absolutely useless… had a second procedure done this year with zero cover from Irish Life. Benefit 2 plan covers so little. The system is designed to only cover more rare procedures avoiding having to cover more common procedures … goodbye Irish life. Terrible terrible terrible
