Purchased a Jaguar I-Pace from IM Car Supermarket on 14 February 2026. Within days, and well within my 30-day statutory right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the vehicle presented severe safety warnings including "Traction battery fault detected" and a "High voltage system fault".

It also became immediately apparent that the car suffered from undisclosed issues, including persistent water pooling in the driver's footwell, missing rear bumper trim patched over with red tape, and no proof of the pre-sale service promised.

While the sales invoice explicitly noted that a traction battery fault was present at the time of sale and that they were liable to fix it, subsequent formal diagnostics by Jaguar Land Rover revealed the absolute worst-case scenario: the high-voltage battery frame has sustained severe, unrepairable physical damage and requires a complete assembly replacement.

Dealing with their aftersales team has been an absolute nightmare of avoidance and poor communication. They completely ignore emails when you try to pin them down on their legal responsibilities. When you actually manage to ring up, you are met with a brick wall: the manager apparently refuses to ever speak directly to customers, and the designated aftercare person is perpetually "on a break" or mysteriously unavailable.

Despite formally rejecting the vehicle within the legal window and providing irrefutable, formal documentation from main dealer technicians, IM Car Supermarket has continuously ignored my statutory rights, ghosted my correspondence, and refused to issue a refund. This has left me with no choice but to escalate the matter through The Motor Ombudsman and the County Court. Terrible customer service, deceptive sales practices, and a complete, unlawful disregard for consumer law. Avoid this dealership at all costs.

Do not buy from this dealership very rude and arrogant telling me he doesn’t think I can afford his cars because I wasn’t putting a 1k deposit down on a vehicle when he wouldn’t even let me test drive it before hand and that once I had payed the 1k deposit I had to buy the car even if I didn’t like it so in other words basically trying to scam me for 1k I really don’t know how this buisness is still running I have never ever seen a so called business man be this unprofessional when selling cars I am so glad I didn’t go through with this deal after coming to check the reviews and everybody else seems to of had to same problem as me everytime I spoke to this man the warranty time changed was 6months then 3months then I had to pay for warranty very very unprofessional and I couldn’t believe the way I was delt with never again will I even think of dealing with this man and his cars

NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS MERCHANT.
Especially the MERCEDES E CLASS ESTATE BLACK RJ19NNB 2019. This car has a faulty engine. Now the MERCHANT cover the registration number with the IM car Supermarket logo.

DO NOT BUY FROM IM CAR SUPERMARKET! I made the mistake of buying a Mazda 6 from them. I was assured over the phone that I'd receive the full service history after sale and that the car would receive a full service beforehand. The drive home was fine, but got a red oil light the next day. Took it to a garage and they said there wasn't enough oil (likely to save a few pennies), which could have seized my engine and totalled the car.
I have since tried emailing and phoning IM in order to get the service history and have them pay the £117 garage fee, which is legally their responsibility, but they just ignore everything. They also added on £105 more than the agreed price when it came to paying, hoping I wouldn't notice. They are complete and utter scammers who only want your money and offer zero after sales service. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!

When I bought the car, on the test drive, we noticed a judder from the rear axle at low speed, but our salesman Jamal Khan told me it was just tyre noise and nothing to worry about. As it turns out, this is not actually the case. The judder is an issue connected to the Transfer box (part of the Drive Train transmission). Apparently, a known fault with a 2018 Range Rover Velar.

Since buying the Velar I have asked our local 4x4 specialist, Taylors in Tushingham, to carry out some maintenance work on the car as a preventative measure. They have given the car a full service, replaced the Cam Belt, flushed and replaced the Transfer Box fluid, all of which cost £2680.00, but the transfer box judder remains at low speed when manoeuvring even though the transfer box fluid has been replaced.
It will cost another £2600.00 to replace the transfer box.

I'm having a issue with a ford edge I purchased yesterday. After leaving the dealership the engine management light came on and went into limp mode after 1 HR of driving on the motorway and eventually it stalled on the live lane on the m180 slip road. I had to call 999 to get the traffic officers to shut off the lane and tow the vehicle to safety, this was a very stressful and life threatening situation to be in. I got the car towed to a garage close to my work who will do a diagnostic check. IM have replied saying they will do everything they can to rectify the situation. I will update the ongoing situation on this review

18/03/2026 Local Mechanic has ran diagnostic check on vehicle and came across 4 faults on the PCM including, airflow position sensor, injection pump control module and exhaust temp too high for dpf. He has also advised these faults have been pre existing and have been reset in the past and not rectified.

So far I'm having good communication with the dealership and they have confirmed that they will pick up the car in a timely manner and rectify all the issues I have highlighted. I will update the review accordingly when I receive the car back with all issues resolved.

No relpys to emails regarding car getting recovered back to the dealership be fixed. Phoned the dealership and spoke to Amir who after some time confirmed the car would be recovered on Monday but can't confirm times or the company that's picking the vehicle up which doesn't give me any confidence.

Vehicle got picked up to return to the dealership today, haven't had a reply if all the issues will be fixed yet ( I always seem to need to phone for updates.
If all is well and the vehicle is fixed under the terms or I receive a full refund including warranty I'll update the review as suitable. A review will be left of Trus Pilot also.

Still no update of repairs to vehicle. I have been told it is fixed and doing test runs (more miles on the vehicle and using fuel). However they can't tell me what has been fixed ?

I received the car back on Monday night 30th March. Never drove it till Wednesday and it broke down again this morning with the same issue after them apparently saying it was ok. Now it's like pulling teeth trying to arrange for them to recover the undrivable vehicle for a refund. However I know my rights and I'm still under 30 days from initial pre existing issue. This could potentially be a small claims case. I do not recommend this dealer ship and do not buy the Red Ford Edge SN18VVW if it goes back up for sale.

Headlamps are cutting out and front heated window doesn't work.

On response to your response on Google reviews, you never gave a full refund as you deducted recovery costs of £500 from when it first broke down on the day of purchase. You said your "independent garage" said there was nothing wrong with the car which is absolutely bollocks as it broke down again when you returned it to me hence why I brought the car down to your dealership as you aftersales is absolutely abysmal and would not confirm a recovery date to return the vehicle for the 2nd time. Yous are so arrogant that yous tried to sell me another vehicle during this process and in total denial regarding your horrendous feedback score across multiple platforms. If you want to improve, teach you team some communication skills.
Oh and one more thing, Jamal also miss sold me the shady warranty as the car required it's serviced intervals kept up which was not done. This was not disclosed during sale and I noticed it in the small print.

Reserved a vehicle, booked 4hr train journey with the intention of driving away after purchase (because we were told it was ready to drive away). When we arrived the vehicle was a mess, front bumper had lacquer peeling away and the rear driver quarter panel had a massive metal deap scuff all the way along it. Was offered £250 to cover a complete respray of the bumper and rear quarter panel. This would not have covered anywhere near the damage costs to repair. We then decided to look at another vehicle which was also "ready to drive away". Inside was covered in cigarette ash, McDonald's cups and wrappers and it was also leaking oil around the injectors, not to mention the severity of the scored brake disks!

Strangely we decided to get the train home and won't be coming back! Awful service, stay away!

Based on my experience, this is the most unprofessional dealerships I have dealt with in the UK. The vehicle I purchased had multiple issues that clearly had not been properly checked prior to sale. It raises serious concerns about the quality control and preparation standards of their cars.
Customer service was equally disappointing. Communication was poor from the start, and when I was finally able to speak to someone, the staff were dismissive and rude. Rather than taking responsibility or attempting to resolve the problems, they avoided addressing the concerns altogether.
I have WhatsApp messages that demonstrate the level of unprofessionalism I encountered.
Given the number of issues and the lack of accountability, I will be escalating this matter to Consumer Rights authorities. I would strongly advise others to proceed with extreme caution before purchasing from this dealership.

Travelled just under 3 hours to view a car after speaking with J at IM Car Supermarket, I was advised the car had recently been MOT’d and fully serviced and was ready to drive away.

On arrival I was left standing around waiting to be acknowledged, eventually someone asked if I needed any help so advised them of the car I had come to view, half an hour later another guy came to advise that the particular car was not ‘on site’ and said he’d get it there as soon as possible, considering the journey I’d made I decided to wait, over an hour later with no offer of a tea or coffee the car arrived!

I wish I had walked at the outset as what was presented to me was nowhere near the advertisement! When I discussed my annoyance with Jamal he became extremely abusive accusing me of trying to get a discount, never before in my experience of car purchasing have I come across such arrogance! I’d spent hours getting there and a further wait, then another 45 minutes checking the car over, if it was as advertised I’d have had no issue with paying the asking price and at no point did I try and haggle with him. The plain simple fact is I would not have purchased the car as there was no way it would have been MOT’d legitimately from what I looked at. Previous reviews state similar questionable legitimacy.

I have since found the same car at another dealer that was the polar opposite of my experience at IM.

If you are considering going here, think again and spend your hard earned money elsewhere, somewhere you’ll be treated with a modicum of honesty and decency.

They want your money and sell you utter mechanical nightmares. When you try and contact them they never ring back. Just excuses and promises. There warrenty is mis-sold, promising all fixes but in reality is not worth the paper its printed on. They have you running between all three to try and sort anything out. Warrenty company, dealership, garage, then back to warrenty all to confuse and shift blame. A 9 year old car has cost me 12000 on finance and a futher 6000 on repairs with the warrenty doing nothing. Their MOTS are worthless just a pass on paper. They wave you off and your tyre blows on the motorway a month later endangering your family. They do not care as long as they have your money.
Do not trust this company at all. Sneaky little commissions. Terrible business, loads you with debt and crap cars onto you then washes their hands of you.

I got Kia Optima 2018 from them in 3 months
Need fixing interior light, blind spot mirror on passenger side , mirror adjusted switch, and the best LED headlight, and the biggest problem is with the paint , my mechanic spot the vehicle is not paint correctly when I’m try to speak with them customer service told me „ go to Halfords buy clear paint and paint for yourself „ now the issue is the red paint is missing around hood and tailgate. I’m try speak with Menagger but wait 7 days and nobody call me back , when call again that said they can’t do it nothing. PLEASE DONT BUY CAR FROM THEM , YOU CAN JUST LOST MONEY AND YOUR TIME . JUST DONT BUY !!!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTE COWBOY DEALER – AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This place is a joke. If you value your money, your time, or your safety, do not buy a car from here.

Within weeks of driving away, the car started falling apart. I had to replace a tyre with exposed cords (dangerous and illegal), then the warning lights started stacking up: engine management, parking brake fault, airbag fault, plus knocking from the front suspension. This was all within two months of purchase.

Their response? “Wear and tear.” No accountability. No support. No shame. Just a blatant refusal to deal with problems that clearly existed when the car was sold.

They are experts at one thing only: getting you through the door, taking your money, and dumping you with a defective vehicle. Aftercare is non-existent. Once the sale is done, you may as well not exist.

This isn’t bad luck — this is how they operate. Shifting unsafe cars and hoping buyers won’t push back.

Also, be very cautious dealing with “Jamal” — which I strongly suspect is a fake name.

Do yourself a favour and run. There are plenty of dealers out there who won’t put you in danger and then wash their hands of it. This is not one of them.
