We started this company to serve the needs of a small portion of the population that has allergies and sensitivities to coconut and palm products. As sufferers of this type of allergies ourselves, we know exactly how difficult it can be to find quality soaps that are safe for our use. This lack of product availability lead us to create Icarus Soap Company. Named after who we deemed to be the best looking member of our family - our cat Icarus - our soap company prioritizes providing products that are safe to use, are ethically sourced, and have qualities and scents we know you are going to love. All of our products are guaranteed to be 100% free of coconut, palm, and any of their derivatives. All of our products are based on our original Fragrance Free formula, which uses rice bran oil, castor oil, high oleic acid sunflower oil, and whole cow's milk to provide a smooth, soothing experience. We do not use artificial dyes or mica powders. Many of our scents are developed in our home kitchen - Red Apple, Green Tea Black Pepper, Ginger Pumpkin - which leads us to constantly advise our customers, "Please, do not eat the soap!" We are constantly working to improve and add to our products to provide our customers with a wide variety of scents to appeal to whatever your preferred scent profile might be. We are also always up to developing soaps that cater to other needs as long as they do not include ingredients that are among our list of allergens.

I have a lot of allergies and this works!

I have a lot of allergies! Let me start with the fact I'm allergic to aloe and coconut so it's really nice that they have options that don't use either!

My experience with Icarus Soap Co. has been NOTHING if not magical and positive. One of their Red Apple bars, which I believe is the standard size for their bars, lasted my grandmother and myself both through a two week long trip where we were swimming and showering at least three times a day each, if not four! Also! At least their Red Apple one is perfectly alright to take into the Galapagos, which comforts me because of the biosecurity measures they take to ensure the health of the area.

I am really sucky at writing reviews, but this brand has a lifelong customer in me! The ordering process is simple and fast, and I've met the owner through forums and they're an absolute gem of a human being. The products are very solid (so much so I really dislike the idea of travelling without one) and definitely leave my skin feeling clean. They also provide wonderful smells, if you for some reason just want the aromatherapy aspect of the bars. They, overall, are kind and transparent and honest and those things matter to me just as much as a product that doesn't irritate my skin.

I'm dating the review to the first day of my trip with family so weather conditions can be reviewed if people are curious (it holds up extremely well in naturally high humidity environments!)
