My recent experience with raj has been amazing. He has been quite helpful. Excellent response time!

They provided me with a great room which was perfect for my requirement of both location and budget. Rahul attended me personally helped me through the process efficiently because I was quite new to the process. They even provided me with a discount when I went for the annual package.

While the letting and administration team are earnest and helpful, the overall process in regards to renting the room was wrought with issues.

The source of these issues was an app called "Checkboard", a background and financial check app that the Househat company insists on using instead of simply providing evidence of income and identity directly via email.

While the app itself is proffesionally made, it requires you to connect your bank account for a financial check. While the process is uncomplicated, if your bank isn't registered with the app (in my case, the Co-Operative Bank), then the entire checking process falls apart and the app becomes void.

I spent a great deal of weeks, up until the final week before my move, trying to resolve the situation. Despite the fact that I manually sent Houshat my invoices, proof of identity and so on - the company insisted that they would only do a check through the app (which didn't work).

In the end, I had to manually get in touch with the Checkboard administration team via a live call, where they had to manually bypass every check on the app just to get through - essentially rendering the app moot but that was good enough for Househat.

One final nag that I feel many should be prepared for, especially proffesionals, is that Househat insists that you MUST have a guarantor. It doesn't matter how consistent your income is or what job you hold.

While a guarantor is standard for students, due to the risks involved with balancing a paying job and personal education - a guarantor should NOT be a necessity for a working proffesional and in fact Househat is the only letting agency I have interacted with in all my years of experience that insists that this is a must.

If like me, you opted to leave the guarantor signing of your contract empty, then you will recieve a message or call (in my case, the LAST DAY before I moved) saying you must go through the entire contract process again.

Again, while the house is nice and the letting team is very patient and helpful, these are issues that need to be addressed in the future.

I would have loved to give a 5 star review, unfortunately there have been one to many misunderstandings and miss communications. I was shown a room that was not available, another time i showed up to view an apartment and no one was there to show it to me. I called several times but there was no answer. Once we found a place the process seam to take longer then it needed to just to be ask to fill our forms last min when it could have been done weeks prior.

I dealt with two separate people and i think that added to the confusion. I must add that they each did their job well, it was the three way communication that was the issue.

I have received great help from their representative Simran with my tenancy. She went out of her way to help me in a difficult situation and I am very grateful. The property is also finished to a high standard and nicely renovated.

I did initially have a significant issues with the company last year when I moved in, and still have issues with only one washer dryer between 6 tenants. However, thoughtout my tenancy they have been very open to communicate with tenants.

Polite and straightforward information from Vinita make my task easy. looking forward for more such helps.

To find a house in the UK is a bit hard. But with the Househat, especially their representative (Raj), it became pretty easy and smooth. He is accommodating, and respond quickly to all the problems. The house I got is really good and well maintained.

Despite the initial inconvenience of moving into an uncleaned room and having to dispose of the previous tenant’s belongings, my stay has turned out to be pleasant, thanks in large part to Vinita’s helpfulness.

Overall, I appreciate to go through the renting procedure with Raj and Sam. They are very helpful, nice and quick to react to my messages and questions.Thank you for that !

Poor communication at times. Also can take very long to get an issue resolved but eventually gets it done.

Edit: After an issue was resolved, they (Rahul) had communicated with me and had asked what they could do to improve. Following this worked with me to ensure both parties have trust in eachother.
