WARNING – HOTEL MÖLNDALS BRO IS THE WORST FOUR-STAR HOTEL IN THE WORLD!
Do you want to stand up when you shower? Sorry, unfortunately it cannot be done because the hotel's shower hoses are not long enough. Not even for a man of just 184 centimeters. So I bowed my head, bend down in my knees and turned on the water. Unfortunately, the soap dispenser was broken, so it wasn't the most hygienic shower on earth. And I could forget about a bath. There was no stopper for the bathtub.
The next day I asked the receptionist if we could get a longer shower hose so I could stand up and take a shower. The receptionist knew it was a problem and was very apologetic, but apparently it was like that in most rooms.
There was no housekeeping, which we discovered too late. When we got home in the evening, we found our wet towels on the bathroom floor from the morning. Unfortunately, the reception was closed, so we had to use the bed linen to dry ourselves when showering the next day.
I asked the receptionist why there was no housekeeping. She replied that they had been too busy with the check-out the day before and were understaffed. Then I asked the hotel manager if it could really be true that a four-star hotel does not have housekeeping. He said I lied and that there had been housekeeping. I explained to him that I left the wet towels at the reception in the evening when I went down with them to get some new ones, which they must have discovered the next day. The hotel manager repeated that there had been housekeeping.
The hotel room was dirty. The mirror had red stains that looked like blood. The carpet was filled with shards of something unidentifiable. The wardrobe was half smashed and had no shelves, so there was no space for clothes. The bed was as soft as lukewarm butter. The room was extremely warm and without air conditioning. There was a lot of noise outside, so we couldn't sleep with the window open. The fridge made so much noise that we had to turn it off at night.
We had invited my old mother for an extended weekend and booked two rooms for three nights at Hotel Mölndals Bro. 8,500 Danish kroner is not cheap for six nights in a suburb of Gothenburg, even though the hotel is supposed to have four stars. But when the hotel has such a catastrophically miserable standard as Mölndals Bro, we would have slept better in a hostel for 2,000 kroner.
And the hotel manager - he didn't care at all.
