Loving it so far

Homeway came along just as I was trying to work out the best way to control my home assistant instance from outside of my network without exposing it to the internet. I was already using octoprinteverywhere so this was a no brainer

It is NOT free

It is NOT free, as they advertise with. It is false commercial. They say 50 GB is free. It is NOT. Instead they lock the connection few days before end of month, claiming it is used. This to force you to pay. A disgusting way of making business. The program works well, besides this.. but it is not free!

Thanks for your feedback! Our goal is to offer as many services as we can at no cost to the community, but we do have to set limits to keep the service in operation. We are hoping to increase the remote access data limit soon, funded by our increased community support. But even with the current data limit, we see only about 5% of our users hit it monthly. One the Home Assistant dashboard is loaded, it’s all cached locally, so it doesn’t have to download again.

We do really value your feedback and will look into increasing the limit sooner! Homeway is 100% community funded by supporters, as our support increase we can increase the limits for everyone!

Subscription Worth It After a Smooth Trial

The service is fast, and after approximately two months of use, I have encountered no issues. The pricing is reasonable, and I appreciate the option to test the service based on data usage – no need to enter a card until you’re certain you need it. I’ve already subscribed for a year.

Feel free to adjust it as needed!

Good Alternative to Nabu Casa

I found this service while looking for a Nabu Casa alternative on Reddit. It has all the features I need and was really easy to set up.
It is also much cheaper than Nabu Casa.
So far I have nothing negative to notice.
