Needing my old hi-fi repaired I looked at the reviews and thought this looks good. But after going on their website and leaving messages and emails they have failed to respond to any of them, which is frustrating. Finally received an answer, after I posted a review, saying they couldn't repair it as it was old and not one of their mainline brands and to try elsewhere.

We offer in-house repair services and warranty claim facilitation for selected items only. Typically for current items that fall into our official mainline brands.
As such we would be unable to repair your Akira tapedeck. We recommend contacting a vintage Hi-Fi repair specialist for jobs like this. Jim at JSL electronics worth a look.

We depend on courier services to deliver our items in a timely manner across the UK, however we have no direct control over DHL when it comes to local delivery/depot problems.
We shipped your order same-day as the order was placed with us on a 24 hour service, it's very dissapointing to hear that DHL have let you down.

Great experience!
I had a great experience with Jesse at Glasgow Audio.
I went in looking for advice on upgrading the cartridge on my Rega Planar 1 Plus and ended up having a really relaxed, honest and helpful conversation.
Jesse took the time to understand my system and how I actually listen to music, rather than pushing the most expensive option.
He recommended a Nagaoka cartridge, handled the installation and setup free of charge, and explained everything clearly and without any pressure.
The result has been fantastic — a warm, engaging sound that fits my system perfectly and has genuinely made me enjoy my records even more.
It’s refreshing to deal with someone who clearly knows their stuff and puts musical enjoyment first.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for proper advice and a friendly, knowledgeable service.

Fine online purchase experience
Good online shop and keen price for Audioquest optical cable. Delivery tracking facility was excellent and courier phoned before arrival at my home. Delivery time not as prompt as Amazon which sets the benchmark in this regard but, on this occasion, Amazon was more expensive for this item.

Replacement cartridge
I was given excellent advice about which cartridge to buy as a replacement for my 40+ year old item. The delivery was super fast so that was good too.
I would have given five stars had I been asked for a signature on delivery and there was a delivery note . Happily things turned out well.

Hegel 190v. Holborn Online - great service
I purchased a Hegel 190v from Holburn online on the Sunday before Christmas. It was an ‘open box’ offer that was too good to miss. To my amazement, I received the shipping notice on the same day. It was picked up on the Monday and delivered on the Tuesday. Many thanks for your brilliant service. Although it was ‘open box’, it had all the original packing and in perfect condition. I might add that it has totally transformed my Dynaudio Special 40 speakers. My music has been taken to another level. Money well spent! I would have no hesitation in recommending Holburn online.
