Alma Arvostelua 

I am writing this review in real time while I am supposed to be meeting with a client through Alma.

I am a paying Alma provider, and I cannot access my account despite resetting my password twice today. My client is presumably waiting for me right now, and because her contact information is inside Alma, I cannot even reach her to explain what is happening or offer another way to meet.

I submitted an urgent technical support request, but the automated response says it may take up to three days to receive a reply and warns that submitting additional requests may further delay the response. There also appears to be no phone number or other way to reach someone for immediate assistance.

This puts me in an awful professional position. From my client’s perspective, it may look as though I simply failed to show up for her appointment when, in reality, I am sitting here trying to reach her and cannot because I am locked out of the platform.

Technical problems happen. What is unacceptable is having no way for a paying provider to obtain immediate assistance when a technical problem is actively interfering with client care.

I sincerely hope someone from Alma sees this and contacts me promptly so I can regain access to my account and reach my client.

Alma is excellent. I have had great help with my zoom sessions with Kathleen(Kathy) San Filippo. She is an extremely skilled trauma counselor who has addressed my nervous system and helped me get through some challenging difficulties. I highly recommend Kathleen (Kathy) San Filippo and Alma.

So far I have had a positive experience using Alma. It was easy to schedule consults which made it easy to find the right fit. I had some negative experiences with similar online platforms, so I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I have used the platform for over a year, and have no complaints. Everything has run smoothly, so I have not had any interactions with customer service team.

My therapist Jennifer Boyd has been very supportive and professional in every aspect. I’m so grateful to have her as my therapist because she’s been there to help me through some difficult times in my life that have truly affected my mental health and Jennifer has made such a positive impact in my life. My only complaint is the Alma billing process that I continue to receive erroneous invoices and this needs improvement. Everything else is great and I do appreciate your services. Thank you

I am a returning patient and have had nothing but positive interactions with my therapist and Alma. When I first started a few years ago and again now that I’m back, my experience with my therapist has been only positive, caring and supportive.

I have been through multiple mental health platforms and psychiatrists in the past years and Alma has made it very easy to communicate with my provider. Also, Amanda Tenison is the most caring and helpful and knowledgeable provider I've ever had!

My experience was unbelievable, how I opened up and shared things with a stranger the first time I spoken with them as I never felt I would've done with anyone for the first time. That opened me up to talk more with them.

The Therapist as always is always understanding and a very good listener. Darwin has always been able to relate to me every time I’ve met with him online.

I have had a great experience using Alma for my counseling needs. I love the counselor, and communication is spot on. Thank you for making it possible for me to communicate with someone when I needed it the most.

Alma tells you your therapist is in-network and your copay is $30–$50. You believe them—why wouldn't you? They ran an "eligibility check." So you start therapy, you open up to someone, you start to trust them. Then the email comes: the estimate was "wrong," and now you owe hundreds of dollars in back charges for sessions you already had.
That's not a mistake. That's the business model. Quote a number people can afford, wait until they're emotionally invested and unwilling to walk away, then send the real bill. They target people who are anxious, depressed, and desperate for help—the exact people least equipped to fight a surprise charge—because they know those people will pay rather than abandon a provider they've come to rely on.
And fighting back is by design nearly impossible. No phone number. Just an email queue where you get passed between staff who make you re-explain everything from zero and then go silent. The complaints are everywhere and they're identical: confirmed low copay, surprise bill months later, no accountability.
Telling a vulnerable person "your care costs $30" and then billing them $300 after the fact isn't incompetence. It's predatory, and it's sick. Stay away.

It was easy to find a provider for my needs and scheduling was easy. They make the billing process very easy. The provider is very thorough and carefully assessed me before prescribing a medication.

My work insurance covered the services entirely, but after I lost my job I knew I would lose the insurance so before I lost the insurance i told the provider I would be seeing a different provider I can pay out of pocket because I lost my insurance, they said okay but over 2 months later they sent me an invoice for 150$ it’s not my fault they don’t settle there payments at least at the end of month, I didn’t lose the insurance for awhile even after I ended the job they had plenty of time to charge my Insurance I shouldn’t have to pay for the clinic Alma partners with negligence, but yeah trying to contact someone from Alma is impossible, so even have insurance if you have problem, Alma is unreachable. so something you should know.

Update: they replied too me and as it stands seems like the problem was resolved.

The "help" I received was just basic information I have already googled before. I was over-prescribed medication and sent on my way. Expensive and useless.

I like the scheduling process & text reminders from Alma. Also the billing and receipts are easy to track at the end of the year when doing taxes.

Loved my therapist for 4 sessions. Then she and Alma completely ghosted me. I have no idea what happened or what I was billed. I cannot get any response from the company.

My experience with Alma was wonderful. I love my provider in the ease of Alma.

Therapist completely ghosted me out of the blue and service team refused to give any explanations. Awful service would not recommend. It has been almost 2 months now and I have received no clarification or attempts at support despite submitting multiple customer support tickets. My therapist also mentioned being booked with 8+ clients back to back so it sounds like a case of burnout or overwork.

There are a lot of therapy sites. Alma is simple to use and connects me with my therapist on the things I need most. Alma makes managing my payments painless. I am really glad I found Alma!
