Haybrook - Estate Agents Barnsley Arvostelua 

I would not normally feel compelled to leave a review of this nature; however, my experience and observations regarding the management at Barnsley Haybrooks have left me extremely concerned.

The way in which some members of staff appear to be managed and treated is, in my opinion, unacceptable and falls significantly below the professional standards I would expect from an established organisation. I will not name individuals publicly, but those responsible for the issues I am referring to will be aware of the concerns.

Having held leadership and management responsibilities myself for many years, I fully appreciate the pressures involved in managing a team, meeting business targets and maintaining performance. However, good leadership should also involve consistency, fairness, clear communication, realistic expectations and respect for employees.

From what I have witnessed, members of staff can be placed under considerable pressure, despite working hard to achieve the expectations and targets set for them. Constantly changing expectations, unrealistic demands and poor communication can have a significant impact on staff morale, motivation and wellbeing.

I believe there needs to be serious reflection at both branch-management and senior-management level regarding leadership style, communication and the overall treatment of employees. Staff who work hard, meet expectations and contribute to the success of a business deserve to feel valued, respected and supported rather than continually placed under unnecessary pressure or uncertainty.

This review is not written lightly or with the intention of personally attacking anyone. It is written because I believe professional management, accountability and respectful treatment of employees are fundamental to any successful organisation.

I sincerely hope these concerns are taken seriously and that appropriate steps are taken to review management practices and improve the working environment for the staff who continue to represent the business every day.

Stephan Medland was the most courteous and polite estate agent I’ve ever met. He did the walk through and valuation and provided us with the valuation of our property. Thank you for all your help and kindness.

Sold a house with Haybrook
Wouldn’t recommend this company at all. They did next to nothing. Kept wasting our time with stupid phone calls. But when we phoned them nobody would get back to us and they would just fob us off. Sold a shared ownership house and the total cost of our share was £80k but they charged us £3.3k. Absolutely ridiculous. They guy called Chris who came to the house to take pictures said because we was only selling £80k said the fee wouldn’t be as high. What a lie that was. He always said we could contact him at any point. Never replied to an email. But when you didn’t reply to him he would be constantly phoning. Kept emailing asking for the same information. It’s was just a ball ache.

I booked an online valuation and soon after I received a reply.
The evaluator Michael Naylor arrived on time. He was very pleasant, friendly and easy to talk to. Michael brought with him printed examples of recently homes sold that were similar to mine, which was encouraging.
I was given a valuation there and then which was also followed up with an email.
There wasn't any pressure after the visit from Michael to market my home with Haybrooks, which was a blessing.

Got cold call from these randomly, don’t know where they got my number from, telling me my house was up for sale, when it wasn’t and have no intentions of it being for sale, fuming.
Woman at the other end of the phone couldn’t care less, what I want to know is, where did they get my private number from
If I ever put my house for sale it wouldn’t be with this company

Based on our initial experience with Haybrook and Chris Hancock we have given 5stars.
We booked the home visit and valuation easily and Chris confirmed the meeting both verbally and by message to avoid any misunderstanding. Chris arrived promptly and was very polite and respectful of our feelings. He was well informed and answered all our questions without hesitation. We didn’t feel under any obligation but he gave us complete confidence in Haybrook estate agents with clear pricing expectations. Top bloke who assured us he would be our contact from starting the process to completion, which we liked. We would recommend based on our experience.

I had the misfortune of dealing with the Barnsley branch, expensive ,very little work carried out by the estate agent to justify the huge fee charged, very little communication, not even a thank you by them after my house sold, my advice go elsewhere as I found the staff to be unhelpful.

Excellent service, very helpful and Laura was a delight throughout the process. Keeping us regularly updated at every stage and keen to help in any way.

Paul Dickinson of Haybrooks came to give me a valuation on my sisters house who has sadly passed away. He was so lovely and I really did have so much confidence in what he had to say. He put me at ease as he was so nice to talk to and very knowledgeable about the housing market and all that it entails.

We began our purchase of a property offered through Haybrook back in the summer. Every step of the way Laura and Amanda had been fantastic at keeping us in the loop, informing us of any changes and chasing the vendors when needed.

Unfortunately, the vendors decided to pull out of the sale when we were ready for completion due to their own sale falling through. Amanda was incredibly supportive and tried her best to reason with them, however she was unsuccessful. However I am so grateful for her kind words, support, and kindness during this time.

We are currently looking for another property, and any with Haybrook always get a second look from us due to our previous wonderful experience.

We had excellent service from Haybrooks when the sold our flat. We were kept up to date throughout the process of the sale.
