Havering London Borough Council Arvostelua 

I've been helping my father deal with Havering Council over a parking matter that has now dragged on for around nine months.

My father is a disabled pensioner who has held a Blue Badge for nearly 40 years. He made a genuine mistake over a disabled parking bay, misunderstanding what the small DB014 marking on the sign meant. He accepts that mistake. This review isn't about pretending the original PCN shouldn't have been issued.

It's about what happened afterwards.

He challenged the PCN, followed the formal process, appealed to London Tribunals and has repeatedly tried to resolve the matter. He has also made clear that he is willing to pay the original £80 discounted amount.

Instead, we've watched the demands increase to £160 and now £240, while trying to work our way through an incredibly frustrating and impersonal process.

The Tribunal eventually confirmed that although it couldn't reduce the charge itself, Havering Council has discretion to accept the reduced amount. We're now trying, yet again, to get someone at Havering to actually consider his circumstances and exercise that discretion.

For an elderly, disabled person, this whole experience has been unnecessarily stressful. I've had to become involved simply to help my father make sense of the correspondence and stop what began as a straightforward parking mistake from spiralling further.

We're not asking Havering to pretend the mistake didn't happen. We're asking for some common sense, proportion and a human being to look at the history of the case rather than allowing an £80 penalty to keep escalating.

Really disappointing treatment of someone who has tried throughout to do the right thing.

I think all of you are wicked and evil, putting a club underneath my home and not only that, giving them a licence to play music.

You will never understand what I go through from week to week living at newport house.

What brilliant service from a council
Since the latest members were voted in the streets outside my house are cleaned , the bins emptied and the bins on the streets are emptied daily it’s a pleasure and credit where credit is due if you ring up you even seem to get someone helpful , I can’t say a bad work about them well done Havering council .top draw .

Fulltime bariatric wheelchair user LOCKED in a firstfloor flat with stairs and no lift. Can not access the community, can not access wash facilities. I am being deprived of basic human rights.
I have recordings of Councillors and the Director of Housing lieing to me.
They have been completely negligent. They are keeping me trapped in this property. They told me to find accomodation that may be suitable for me and once I found this, they then offered it to someone else, refusing me. These people are cruel, and they have no compassion whatsoever. They are completely ignorant. They do not listen to professionals or specialist people. They expect a fulltime bariatric electric wheelchair user to fit into a standard sized 1 bedroom flat. THEY ARE DELUSIONAL

So sad to HATE the borough I live in, cannot wait to sell the house and move. Useless council. For many many reasons not worth to list talk the issues.

Absolutely useless. Been a havering resident for 26 years and they are just getting worse. Rubbish suddenly not collected. No answer given yet they soon expect their rent and council tax payments!
No chance!

We are extremely frustrated with the ongoing missed bin collections on cowper Road.rainham!!This has been reported many times already, yet nothing is being fixed.

Residents are leaving bins outside as instructed, but no one comes to collect them. It is now becoming completely unacceptable, especially during the warm summer weather. The smell, mess, and hygiene issues are disgusting for people living here.

Friday’s collection was missed again, and now with the weekend and bank holiday, residents are expected to live with overflowing rubbish until Tuesday. This is unfair and unhealthy.

If the issue is caused by the road being narrow or blocked, then the council needs to find a solution for example, adding yellow lines or changing access arrangements. Doing nothing is not acceptable anymore.

People in this area deserve better. Please take this seriously and fix the ongoing missed collections on Cowper Road as soon as possible.

Stupid PCN rules, agree with below comments, zero communication and just desperate for money

Scum Borough. Received 2 PCN for same "offense" with exact same timestamp. Clearly poorly marked Road signs. Tricks to get money for the financially struggling council. Extortion from regular people with fines going from £80 to £240 with poor communication, can't even get a phone call. Very sad to see

I would like to raise a formal concern regarding the handling of a homelessness case by Tosin Adewumi in the Homeless Department. For the past six months I have been trying to help a vulnerable person I know who is a victim of domestic violence and urgently needs assistance in being placed on the council housing register.

Despite repeated emails and contact from both myself and advocates, our concerns have not been addressed. She has instead been repeatedly directed to shared accommodation with only male residents, which is inappropriate given her circumstances and has caused her significant distress.

What is most concerning is the lack of response, apology, or accountability, as well as the continued absence of meaningful engagement with the issues raised. This gives the impression that her vulnerability and safety are not being taken seriously.

As a taxpayer, I am extremely disappointed with how this matter has been handled. I am requesting that this situation be formally reviewed and that the conduct and decision-making in this case by Tosin Adewumi be investigated for possible maladministration.

I will continue to pursue this matter until it is properly addressed, as the person involved deserves safe and appropriate support.

Have received a PCN notification stating I didn’t pay for original notice. I tried to appeal, but not having original notice that they say they had sent me, which I never received, I couldn’t add the web code, so ending up paying a £240 fine just for making a right turn.

Received a PNC for entering and stopping in a box junction without any photo evidence. The letter said I had not paid previous PNC and therefore fine was increased from GBP 160 to 240.
Tried to contact the council but they may run on a 2 day working week, the days I called the phone was not answered - extremely frustrating.
I filled in the form for an email inquiry but after another 2 weeks no response.
I now paid £240 for an offence I am not even sure occurred to avoid 'further action'.

The state of Child Services in Havering is absolutely appalling. Social Workers not properly dealing with serious and valid complaints and concerns of the general public. Lies and deception in paperwork and ignoring official complaints. Some Social Workers try to do the bare minimum of work and will happily listen to lies, deception and fraud. Even go as far as lying to the Police without the complainant/victim being intially aware. Only finding out after Police informs them that case is closed on the say so of lying and deceptive Social Worker. The blood of many child victims is on the hands of some of their so-called Social Workers and Havering which is extremely worrying. I will happily be a witness as and when Havering Child Services are eventually investigated for, neglect, gross negligence and fraud. They come across worst than the actual perpetrators. Definitely not fix for purpose.

I have been left with no heating and hot water for 5 days now and they keep fobbing me off keep saying they need to wait for it to be accepted. I asked for heaters to be dropped off and they said yes and then also never turned up. I have 2 kids at home that are currently ill now due to it being so cold indoors it’s just not acceptable being left this long without it in the cold weather

update: RSPCA STOP CALLING ME ON WITH HELD NUMBER YOU HAVE BACK TRACKED AND NOW TELLING ME NOT TO FEED THE CATS THE FOOD YOU GAVE ME DO YOU WANT THE 5 cats and kittens to die????

Terrible when they have no care for abandoned properties they give housing benefit for in havering . Lots of ASB at the abandoned property , nuisance tenant and her kids . Left behind several cats and kittens . Tenant will get her karma but council is just as bad as they have no protocol to support communities with such matters

Useless! No fire safety concerns! No response when enquiring about safety! Should be an investigation on how they manage safety in housing!

I recieved messages from bailiffs regarding debt I had no idea about. It turns out it was for a fine that had been sent to the wrong address. I've tried to contact them by phone- there is noone in the department who takes incoming calls. Online enquiries- now 3 months without a reply. Email- 4 months without a reply. Now another set of bailiffs however this disgrace of a council can't even reply to me.

Numerous issues with waste contractors deliberately leaving rubbish in the road on collection days. Whilst not council employees, they need to use reliable subcontractors. You then waste 30 mins on the phone before they answer, to report what they call a spillage, only to be told that because the wind has blown the debris on to your driveway that it can not be collected from private property so you have to go and put it on the pavement. Utter crap and shows that the jobsworth cretins in charge have turned this country in to a cesspit
