Harvey Norman Ireland - Waterford Arvostelua 

I am totally disappointed with my recent experience with Harvey Norman Waterford.

I placed my pre-order on 12 September 2026 at 12:26:08 PM, even though the online pre-order was officially scheduled to open at 1:00 PM. At the time, I was also told by one of the employees that I was the first person to place a pre-order.

According to Harvey Norman's website and their employee, the device was due to be available from 18 September 2026. I therefore went to the Waterford store on that date expecting to collect my phone. However, I was told that the store had not received the stock yet and that it was expected to arrive later that afternoon. I was advised to return the following day or on Monday.

I returned the next day, but was then told to come back the following week. I followed up again the next week and was once again asked to wait another week. Eventually, on 29 September 2026, after 17 days of waiting and repeated trips to the store, I decided to request a refund.

To me, what is disappointing is the way my pre-order was handled.

I was particularly frustrated to learn that the Waterford store had apparently received only two units, and that those units were given to customers who had placed their orders online. When I asked why my order, which I had placed first, had not been prioritised, I was initially told that the online customers had ordered before me. I then asked the responsible person to check the actual order times. After checking, he confirmed that I had in fact placed my order first, but explained that it was just a human error.

What disappointed me even more was that, when the responsible person came to the counter, the first response was simply to process my refund rather than properly investigating what had happened, acknowledging the inconvenience, or trying to find a solution.

I understand that stock and delivery delays can happen, and I would have been willing to accept a genuine delay if my order had been handled transparently and fairly. However, being the first customer to pre-order, repeatedly visiting the store, waiting for 17 days, and ultimately discovering that my order had been overlooked due to a "human error" is extremely frustrating.

I also had the opportunity to compare this experience with the neighbouring Currys, where customers appeared to be receiving their devices on time. This made the situation even more disappointing.

The biggest loss for me was not the money—it was the 17 days of waiting, the repeated trips to the store, and the excitement of receiving a new phone which was a surprise gift being completely ruined. At this stage, with the initial pre-order period already over in all the shops, I also understand that I am unlikely to be able to obtain the device within the next few weeks.

Unfortunately, this experience has seriously affected my confidence in Harvey Norman Waterford. I will think twice before purchasing a mobile phone or laptop from this particular store in the future.

I hope Harvey Norman takes this feedback seriously and reviews how pre-orders are allocated and how customer complaints are handled, because a "human error" should not result in the first pre-order customer being left without the product while later orders are fulfilled.

Darren and James (from the Waterford store) came this morning to deliver and assemble my new bed. They were so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much for them to do.

Paul and Jamie installed our fridge and couldn’t have been lovelier. They were so fast at getting everything done and double checked to make sure we had no issues. Would highly recommend lovely people

Paul and Jamie were so professional and a great help when delivering my mattress and bed frame. It was an awkward space to get the mattress and bed frame into the room upstairs and they were fantastic. It wasn’t a problem for them. Two very nice men who represented Harvey Norman so well.

Paul and Jamie were very efficient, friendly, and helpful when installing our new dishwasher. We would recommend them to anyone.

We ordered a android TV when it arrived the screen was broken i rang straight away they had no problem exchanging it for another one and apologise that it would take a week to arrive but they had to get it sent from a other store as they had none i stock. They also offered a different tv that they had in store if a week was to long to wait
