I've been scammed by their pseudo company, Harrington-Birmingham. Shirt order couldn't be cancelled just minutes after I'd ordered it! (Wish I'd checked reviews first!) Now, my Norton software is blocking the company's website as it is well-known for hacking people's identities and financial details and like another China-based crap company, Oliver Harrison, the goods come from China - not Birmingham. The Yodel delivery was dropped at my doorstep whilst I was out I had no choice but to pick up the parcel. This 'company' is NOT a UK company - it's hackers who are based in CHINA! Please DO NOT GIVE YOUR CARD DETAILS AS THEY COULD BE USED, ALONG WITH YOUR IDENTITY TO HACK YOUR COMPUTER AND, WORSE, SPEND YOUR MONEY!

Took weeks to receive item. Item did not look like photo. Cheap fabric. Attempting to return item it does not look promising. Looks like i am out the money

Can I do zero stars? The sneakers I ordered are absolutely awful. Fit weird in every way possible. Material is cheal. The website is very deceiving, shipping is from China. There's nothing positive. My friend ordered the same product and she actually tried to exchange them. Through watching her experience I decided to donate them, only the homeless will want these shoes. Its what she ended up doing. You can get the exact same product on Amazon and at least get it in a couple days and can return it.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I would not even give one star. I sent back 2 poor quality dresses in August 2025 and was promised a part refund in September but I still have not recieved this refund despite multiple emails. Not only this but this company pretend to be London based but they are NOT. The return address was to China! Do not be fooled as I was that this is a reputable company.

Returned goods with track and trace postage but still waiting for a refund which I doubt Ill ever see!

Diabolical service

Absolutely terrible company built on a series of lies. Items advertised as 100% cotton arrived late and were Polyester. Returns need to be sent to China at your own expense and have now been in transit in China for over 2 months. Refund won't be processed until it arrives wherever it is supposed to get to in China - completely ridiculous. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. It is NOT a London company run by the friendly looking couple on the website, it is simply a scam!

Dress arrived quickly but was poor quality fabric and unwearable.
Returned to address in China. Luckily I have relatives in HK so the tracked postage only cost £6. They keep telling me they have refunded my money minus £8 admin fee but I have never received any money. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE.

I ordered 4 dresses, unaware they were coming from China. They were very unhappy about me wanting to return the dresses. I returned at my own cost (this was okay) but now the parcel has been 'lost in transit' despite me sending it with a reputable courier and tracked. Would definitely not recommend this company.

Don't buy from this company! They falsely advertise eg dresses were meant to have been linen but were cheap and shoddy polyester! Refused to refund fully but after emails gave partial refund. Told I could return clothes to China but would have to pay postage . Scam Company!!

I ordered a dress in the smallest size XS (6/8) and was sent a garment that was at least a size 12 if not larger. There was no refund but I was allowed to select another garment from the catalogue and when this finally arrived, after a lot of email pushing, the replacement saying XS is once again several sizes too large.

I received an item not s as advertised, cheap material, they offered me 20% to keep, I said no and refused to return at my cost to china(not a London company) , they offered 30%, then 40%, then 50%, , I said no,
I claimed through PayPal and got a full refund, I advise others to do the same.

An update to my review - the company provided the details of who to return the dress to in China which I used to the letter! 10 weeks after returning it, the dress arrived back to me yesterday. It was undeliverable as the item was 'refused' on delivery. I do not know what is going on with this company but best to AVOID

I have had a couple of dresses from this website - I have loved them - BUT if you need to send something back ITS A NIGHTMARE.
They make you send the item back to china - the dress I returned was sent tracked on the 04/07 and apparently it is still in transit so that is over 8 weeks so far and still no refund.
On checking the tracking the last update was 12/08 - that was since it changed from Royal Mail tracking to the Chinese partner.
I would have to agree - probably best NOT to purchase from this website - they show they are based in London, items get sent from London but returns HAVE to be sent to China - not good enough for the UK consumer.

I would NOT use this company again.
This is the service I received from them.
They put on their website that this company was EST. 2004 in London what they don’t say is that if you wish to return something it is not London it has to go to China and that it will cost YOU between £17 and £43.
This is our experience with Harrington and Hale.
We ordered 1 dress from them and they put 2 orders through with 2 separate payments and sent us 2 dresses the same, I emailed them within 30mins of the order going through telling them their mistake and I received an email saying they will look into it, 9 days later they emailed me to say that the order has been despatched (yes it took them 9 days to do that) they said there was nothing they could do about the mistake.
When we got the dress we ordered it was too big, so we ask to return it and also to return the dress that they sent which we did not order, this is when we were told that it will cost us between £17 and £43 because the dresses had to go back to China NOT London or we could have a 20% refund and keep the dresses (which are identical and do not fit).
So, then we pointed out that 1 of the dresses we do not order but paid for and receive, there response to this was we could have 30% of and keep the dresses (which don’t fit) or send them back at a cost of £17 to £43.

Which gave us little choice but to accept the 30% off of the total order even though we did not order one of the dresses that they made us pay for, this cost us £52.42 of which £26.96 was for a dress we did not order and have had a refund of £15.72 but we do have 2 dresses the same which do not fit.

So DO NOT use Harrington and Hale as they have ripped us off. If you use Temu, Amazon, M and S, John Lewis ECT they will accept any returns and not change you between £17 and £43, (even though Temu is based in China)

A scam.
I ordered 2 dress sizes. They did not seem to be good quality. I requested to send them back. They said I could send them back at my charge to their CHINA warehouse and then a refund would be issued. Or I could accept a 20% refund. It didn't leave me with much choice. This company is not being transparent in its returns policy. It is ridiculous to expect customers to send products back to their warehouse in CHINA. I am based England.

Terrible dresses DO NOT BUY.

I bought 2 dresses for my wife on 1/8/25 from this company, which from their website purports to be a UK company based from a shop in London. You could never be further from the truth. I now suspect it is an international company, selling clothing made in China, from where the items are shipped to a Southall address and then posted out to me via Royal Mail. The dresses I bought were totally not as described on their website. In particular the Luisa is not made of cotton at all and the label says it is 95% polyester and 5% elastane. The material clearly does not match the photograph of the dress depicted on the website where you can see the weave in the material and it is certainly not breathable with wick away moisture qualities or wrinkle free as described on the website.
The Eloise is similar in that it is not as described as being polyester fabric, It may contain
some polyester but is significantly more of a nylon material. It certainly is not breathable or
wicking and wrinkle free as described on the website. It is noteworthy that this dress, unlike the Luisa, does not even have a label showing the material composition.
The website says 90 day money back guarantee but there is no contact info other than a UK email address. I immediately upon receipt returned them via Royal Mail tracking to the ‘Return Address’ shown on their delivered parcel, enclosing a letter and requesting a refund. I also emailed the company once the parcel had been taken by Royal Mail. I did receive a number of replies and in summary whilst not giving details of their requirements they said they could not access the parcel from the Southall address. They offered 20%, then 30% discount but I said no and would claim via PayPal. Thank goodness for PayPal and I started a claim. It showed I had made my payment to Global Commerce Enterprise BV and I had to email them first. I did so and no reply so PayPal reimbursed me in full. Global then replied offering me 50% refund, I could keep the dresses but they asked me to close the PayPal claim. They obviously don’t read all the communication properly. One point I noticed was the emails from them were often during the night, unlikely a UK based company, yet all but one suggested their authors had typically British names, which I doubt is correct . Sorry to be writing so much but I would hate others to get caught out like me. Lesson learned for us to check out any reviews first and Companies House first to see if it appears legit.

My advice is don’t buy from this company. The dress I ordered was supposed to be breathable cotton but was 95% polyester 5% elastane, poorly made and too big. Any return for a refund is to an address in China (fulfilment warehouse) though it does not say this anywhere on their website. I doubt the company has any base at all in the UK despite purporting to be “established 2004, London. I believe it to be a scam.

Hello Anna, If you understand my frustrations, you would offer an easier solution. I will return the dress because, it’s NOT what I ordered, I’m-returning the dress because it’s not the same dress as the one advertised, it’s not denim, it’s not a quality product, it’s cheap & nasty. If you can’t be honest with your customers and base your business on Lies, you will be found out. Look.at Trustpilot reviews, you have a score of 1.3 with all of the customers telling similar stories to mine so, the dress will be returned, I’ll follow your difficult return process & I’ll look forward to my reimbursement, if that even happens. If you were taking this matter seriously, you would & should be offering me & your many other disappointed customers an easier & more straightforward resolution.

As others have stated this company misleads its customers into believing they are a London based retailer when in fact they hold no stock and drop ship everything from China. I have checked and the item we purchased is available on Aliexpress for a fraction of the cost we paid. The dress we purchased was poor quality, incorrectly sized and nothing like the image used on their website. After being duped our options were to send it back to China ay our cost or keep the dress and accept a token 20% of the cost of the dress. So clearly their business model is" some customers will just take the hit and walk away and others will accept a 20% refund" (I doubt any will take the trouble and risk of sending it back and hoping they honour the refund) In either case they will make a profit based on the low price they pay to buy and ship to the UK. So based on this it's clearly a scam as I doubt anyone will be happy with the purchase.

This company is a completely scam not in London at all I ordered 2 Dresses supposed to be cotton They are the most disgusting dresses I have ever seen A nightmare trying to return them PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY on anything from this company
