Amazing fun in the sun!
Very good communication both before and during the trip. Halsbury were so helpful in trying to accommodate our needs eg: having hours to spend in Barcelona. The hotel we were based in was fabulous for staff and students and the watersports centre provided varied activities at the right level for our mixed ability students. A fantastic trip all round!

Iceland Adventure
We had a great time on our trip to Iceland, the sites were amazing and the organisation of the trip was easy with the assistance from Halsbury. We took 50 Yr 5-8 children and stayed in two different locations, everything went smoothly and we were well looked after by our hotels and guide.

Halsbury is THE group to choose for a school trip
This is the third trip I have done with Halsbury. Their organization, the guides that they choose and the hotels they pick are tailored to our specifics and then done carefully with school groups in mind. If things go wrong, they fix them quickly. I couldn't be more pleased, our trip was life-changing for our students and I will definitely use Halsbury again.

School trip with 70 students
After a delay in the start to our trip due to an injury, Halsbury were in regular contact offering support and re-arranging timings so we didn't miss any activities which which really helpful and reassuring. A well organised trip and will be back next year

Life Threatening Experience
Our son travelled to Italy for a school ski trip to Sestriere with Halsbury. The hotel, selected by Halsbury, provided our son with food that gave him a severe nut reaction which was immediate during the meal.
Halsbury were not aware of EU law requirements for allergies (which I have in writing from them) and therefore failed to ensure that the correct processes were in place. The school no longer uses Halsbury as a result.
A poor investigation followed with no outcome by Halsbury. The School Travel Forum (STF) were asked to investigate, but they didn't ask for the school's involvement in the process, or provide a response to the school, there was no associated paperwork provided. Finally the school had to request a response from STF and were advised the matter was closed with no issue - but STF did not provide any information about this review which is equally poor and not reassuring.
Halsbury do not adequately monitor the large number of trips and hotels they have in place (having received a large investment) with insufficient auditing in place and a lack of awareness internationally of the relevant laws needed to protect students. If there is an incident their client is the school, and our school received poor communication. Despite their uncaring and poor service I hope they have learnt from the experience, but remain sceptical about their current growth, health and safety, and service to schools. Incidents happen rarely but when they do they often come with tragic consequences and currently Halsbury take little responsibility for incidents. Equally for trips outside of the UK, there will be little recourse to follow up and hold anyone accountable. I am concerned for other children travelling with them at this point.
The return response below from Halsbury is again poor. For parents or schools reading this, an allergy champion is not advisable, and doesn't comply with EU law. The allergy champion in addition wasn't always present during mealtimes at all times. This is why, amongst other reasons, this isn't the EU law in place to protect those with allergies. The law is to have a book available listing allergens. Halsbury were unaware of this law or the book and no-one including my son or the school was made aware of it. When you have witnessed this level of reaction, or had any experience or knowledge of it, or spoken to a medical practitioner you will know that this level of reaction is the result of an immediate intake of an allergen. Fortunately my son had medicine from the hospital he took with him for the trip but was still violently sick with hives. Halsbury haven't addressed me until this point and it is the fastest response yet, as the school weren't provided with such swift responses. I have no interest in addressing them at this late stage. Their response and sympathies are not of interest, only to advise others of taking care and raising awareness of the risks involved. Many thanks

Hi Melissa, we take issues regarding allergies very seriously and we appreciate this must have been a distressing time for you as a parent.
A senior member of staff was in resort at the time and took immediate action to support the school's group leader with the welfare of your son and to begin an investigation into the incident, collecting cross-contamination precautions and procedures along with dish ingredients. Hotels that we work with are audited in compliance with our membership of School Travel Forum (STF). We do completely understand the gravity, and severity, of these situations and were relieved that no medical intervention was needed.
Following the group’s return to the UK, a thorough review was conducted by ourselves and the School Travel Forum to ensure we had taken the necessary steps and fulfilled our responsibilities as a tour operator.
Accurate allergy information was passed on to the hotel before arrival in resort and due to the large number of students with complex dietary requirements, the hotel had a designated ‘Allergy Champion’ present at all mealtimes. Both dishes that were reportedly eaten at the meal preceding the reaction had the ingredients checked, and there was nothing found in them that would have caused a reaction.
The STF report confirmed that there was no breach of health and safety on the part of Halsbury, however, as part of our commitment to continual improvement, we have worked with key stakeholders to identify additional touchpoints where communication could be enhanced. -Kylie

The staff at Halsbury Travel Group provided a highly professional service for our recent school trip. Nothing was too much trouble for them to arrange or accommodate to ensure our students and staff had an amazing experience during our stay in Florence,Italy.
The team have left such a positive impression that has encouraged a further trip to New York to be planned for next year.

Cannot recommend enough
Cannot recommend enough. Everything ran to time, My son is 12 and autistic, he struggles with changes etc. his obsession is football. His school were organising a football trip to the Netherlands! He bravely said he wanted to go. He felt completely at ease on the coach trip. The drivers were very professional, I really want to thank them for the great job they do.

If you are considering booking a music tour with Halsbury - please look no further!! I lead a variety of music groups including choirs, and couldn't recommend them highly enough. They are extremely experienced and can suggest ideal locations and itineraries. Throughout the process they communicate efficiently, provide a fantastic level of support and expertise, find wonderful concert venues and hotels, and have always delivered above expectations. We have toured to Bruge, Barcelona/Girona, Venice/Verona, Liverpool/Chester and look forward to Tuscany this summer - all with Halsbury! Knowledgable staff who go the extra mile to make your holiday work
This was the first time I had been a party leader for a school ski trip and I was nervous as I was taking 30 Prep children (aged 8 - 12). Halsbury are very knowledgable of all the resorts they use and listened carefully to my requirements and found me the perfect resort - it was safe and quiet and ideal for small children. The walk to the gondola and ski school was only metres which meant no stressful walking with skis and poles for little ones. The hotel was incredibly comfy and friendly and nothing was too much for them (birthday cakes, Easter eggs etc).
Halsbury offer a free inspection trip for party Leaders which I went on last Easter. This is a real perk for teachers (we don’t get many perks!) and a great way to get to know some of the Halsbury team, get to explore an area of Italy and chat through concerns with other party leaders. I loved every minute of it, especially the 4 days of skiing!

First class ski inspection visit.
A very well organised ski inspection visit to Claviere for our future school ski trip at Easter 2025. Halsbury staff were fantastic; accommodating, informative and friendly. Accommodation, food and hospitality was excellent. Ski guiding for 3 days was first class in 3 different ski areas; Claviere, San Sicario/Saux'dOux and Sestriere. Incredible week of skiing.
Halsbury took care of us from the moment we booked our ski trip. With knowledgeable staff in the UK and experienced reps in resort we were able to thoroughly enjoy our week in Italy. We enjoyed incredible snow in Marilleva, with our group skiing across to Folgarida with amazing instructors. Jo, our in resort rep was a blessing. She helped us organise all the minor details and became part of the group. The students loved having her around. We enjoyed a great bumboarding session, ice skating evening, in house quiz and fab pizzas at a local restaurant.

New York City - performing arts trip
Halsbury organised a trip to New York City for us, centred around the Performing Arts. From the early stages of organising the trip and up until we returned home, the communication was concise, helpful, and patient. It was a wonderful trip.
