Didn't work for us.
We’re a Danish company processing around 100,000 orders per year. We were approached by Hakio, who claimed they could help us improve our purchasing process. We spent quite a bit of time on onboarding and setup, but once we actually started using the system, it became clear that it wasn’t working as promised for us.
The system recommended that we purchase extremely large quantities of certain products - items that we ended up getting stuck with and simply couldn’t sell (we’re currently sitting on over 1,000 unsold units). At the same time, our new and best-performing products - which sold out quickly - were never recommended for restock by Hakio.
It feels like the system doesn’t understand what drives our sales - things like hype, color trends, and seasonality. For example, in May, the forecast suggested ordering large amounts of burgundy tops, which made no sense for that period. Those items are now sitting in storage, along with hundreds of other pieces that the system wrongly prioritized.
We’ve even had new products sell out within a week, yet Hakio still didn’t suggest reordering. We understand that the platform relies on historical data, but in practice, this approach simply doesn’t work for us.
To make matters worse, you’re locked into a 12-month contract at 12,500 DKK per month (around €1,675 / $1,800), so if it doesn’t work for your business, it becomes an extremely expensive mistake.
We genuinely tried to make it work - held long meetings, gave full transparency into our operations, and even offered feedback on how the system could be improved - but at this point, we’ve concluded that it’s just not suited to a company like ours.
