Within the first few minutes of meeting Dr Amy, I felt at ease and comfortable and confident I was with the right person to help with my hair loss issues. Having other underlying health conditions, seeing not only a hair loss expert but an experienced GP, Dr Amy was able to make sense and join the dots to make a diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan. She listened with empathy, took the time to ask questions and was thorough with her explanations not using medical jargon that I didn’t understand. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough and I’m looking forward to seeing changes in the next 6-9 months. I left feeling buoyant and more positive than I have in a long time.

Together we explored a holistic review of my health linked to hair thinning . I had my full blood results from my GP ready and pictures of vitamins I take which allowed Dr Amy to review and explain what these meant to my hair journey in so much more details than I had known . I had a great consultation with Dr Amy and came out reassured and relieved. I was very worried about my hair loss and scalp irritation: these symptoms are often dismissed by health professionals as they are not deemed serious enough. I saw Dr Amy at the Hair Gp and am so pleased I did, she’s extremely knowledgeable about everything hair and as a NHS GP is a great person to see as she is focusing on your full health and how to help. The advice and treatment options she has suggested for me are fantastic and I can’t wait to get started and hopefully see some hair growth. She is not trying to just make money from you like some other company’s that I have been to. She has suggested many things I can use over the counter and that makes it very affordable. I was very nervous heading to the appointment but Dr. Amy was so incredibly understanding. She listened to me. She answered all my questions thoroughly and in turn asked me lots of questions. I had such an amazing experience with Dr Amy! Having trouble with your hairline during your late teenage years can be very daunting and has recently taken a toll on my confidence. Right from the beginning, Dr Amy made me feel super comfortable and reassured. She was super kind and really easy to talk to and listened to all of my concerns.
My favourite part of the consultation was seeing my scalp and hair under a microscope, which was so cool and fascinating! She explained everything thoroughly and with great detail. We discussed on what might be causing my hair loss and went through different treatments.
What I really appreciated most was that I never felt pressured to buy anything or start medication right away. I’ve read reviews on other Dermatologists/ Trichologists about people feeling pushed into treatment, but Dr Amy was nothing like that! Admitting to yourself that your post-menopausal hair has noticeably thinned is challenging. Even harder to articulate that to someone else! However, Dr Amy Vowler's sympathetic, professional and engaging approach was essential to commence the topical treatment that hopefully thickens my hair ... I'll let you know.
