I had not used Groupon for a few years. I saw a great offer for a restaurant in Dublin I had been wanting to try. It was a great experience - the buying of the voucher and using it at the restaurant was painless. I will be using Groupon moving forward again!
Non-working Coupons
Several times now they have sold or provided me coupons which do not work. Either straight out the vendor does not have a deal with them, or there is some kind of code issue they will spend days lying to you about that it's your fault its not working. Absolute scam of a company from beginning to end.

an absolute "cloke and daggers" of a site. colluding with other sites, taking hard earned money off ordinary people and spinning them dizzy with links. money dissapears into the abyss and no contact with an actual human being to discuss problems. PLEASE AVOID THESE FRAUDESTERS!!!

Groupon.ie use to have great deals for household items bedding and electronicals
what has happened? yous dont sell them anymore just vouchers for restaurants and beauty salons, like I've noticed the English groupon has way more of a selection of items and deals for products & household items, I use to shop with groupon.ie all the time, hope yous will start getting back to selling these kind of deals, it's just not the same now and you will loose customers.
Poor Quality Products
I've bought 3 items from Groupon in the last year, each item was either faulty or bad quality. Very expensive to return for a refund. I won't buy anything from them again. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Bought a coupon for my son’s birthday to buy a suit. He went into the shop to be told that they had stopped this deal with groupon a couple of months ago. When you go on the website today they are still selling this promotion. This is fraud …. When I got on to the web chat they offered me groupon credit. Like you would every buy from this website again. Got a refund when pointed out they are selling promotions that they do not have.

I have been trying to get an issue resolved now since Feb 2nd. I have dealt with 7 different customer support reps and have had to repeat my issue everytime. No one is listening to me they don't understand the issue. I told one rep my full story including screenshots and they still told me it was resolved when it hadn't been. When I finally spelled it out they were like ohhh I will notify our resolution team. I have asked to escalate the issue to management level and still have heard nothing back.
I am never one to complain but I am at my wits end on this terrible customer experience.
I had 2 vouchers and 1 was to be refunded and by accident they cancelled both but only refunded 1. Anyone I talk to says it has all been refunded to my card on Feb 5th even though I have shown them the refund and it is clearly only for half or 1.
Soooo frustrating and the fact that the only way I can seem to escalate it to higher up is hopefully through here.
Dreadful service.
Against my instincts, I tried (2nd August) to use this company to book an online session with a reputable company that specialises in helping people to stop smoking.
Right from the start, I knew something was wrong. I won't go through all the reasons it felt odd. Bottom line: I received an email (3rd August) informing me that my booking was made, and providing me with a coupon.
I had used the service provided by the reputable company before, and they had sent me a confirmation email with a link, Zoom code etc. as soon as I had paid; this time all I got was a coupon from Groupon. I contacted Groupon to explain that a coupon on its own is useless. How could I attend an online course if there were no link or Zoom code etc. to join in?! I must have made this point 6 times to 3 different customer care agents; they kept just replying, "Your appointment is booked".
Eventually the 3rd agent said I could just present my magical coupon "on arrival" at the door...for an online course??!! That just about sums how seriously they took my query/complaint. At this point, I said I wanted a full refund. I had been assured this would be no problem, by the first agent. The 3rd agent said something about only offering credit; I told her I wanted a full refund as promised. She then said she had refunded the money, but it would take 5-7 business days to reach my account (I'll update this review at that point). I have my doubts that I'll see that money again.
I don't know whether this is a scam company, but I'll simply say this: if you're trying to stop smoking, contact the reputable company directly. Don't try to avail of Groupon's offer.
Dreadful customer care. Make sure you keep a copy of any Live Chat interactions, and don't assume you'll get a straight refund.

Amongst all the junk mails I received by Groupon I came to find a purchase confirmation of a hotel in the middle of nowhere made by "myself". I checked my bank statement and the charge was there. I contacted my back suspecting my card had been hacked and they said it was unlikely and advised me to contact Groupon. I was told that the hotel was purchased using the same IP used in previous purchase; however, I only use my Apple phone with every security level possible I can imagine and do not share it with anybody. Unfortunately, my card details was saved in my account. Groupon did not take any responsibility and did not share what IP they said it was purchased from so that I could maintain my trust with them, but it was denied. I can only assume and recommend that their system is vulnerable and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that anyone who has their card details saved with them to remove it immediately. As a customer, I lost total trust on them and will NO longer buy anything there.

Definitely scamming people out of their money. If you order and recieve what you ordered all good. But if you need to contact their customer services you are in trouble. I paid for a voucher. It wouldnt work so I went back to Groupon and rather than refund my money they stole more from my account and now they have gone quiet, wont respond to any of my messages. Sickened by Abrar and the rest of his POS colleagues in Groupon "customer service".

Terrible terrible service. Bought an item which did not arrive. Denied my refund. Left without money and the item i purchased.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. I purchased a pair of expensive sunglasses off Groupon and when I recieved them they were a completely different design. After contacting Groupon they told me that the wrong image and barcode was displayed on their site causing the mistake. I was told that I needed to provide a tracking number when returning the parcel. I was subsequently left out of pocket for this additional cost and Groupon refused to refund me the difference even after acknowledging it was their mistake. Very disappointing experience and I would not use their services in the future.

I went to Groupon explaining that due to COVID I couldn’t attend a hotel booking I booked through them and instantly •Kirubha S• was on the ball and refunded my full €276 (to be fair in Groupon vouchers)
This was perfect for me as I have had multiple happy purchases through Groupon and did not see it ending any time soon! 5 minutes and a full refund and wished a lovely day.
I will be happily buying from here again! Thank you Groupon!
shocking customer service
on the 28th August i contacted the groupon chat facility as i was looking for a refund as i had bought two vouchers from yourselves for afternoon tea at Mercure Cardiff, i had used your online facility to prebook this for the 5th September for my mothers birthday. I contacted Mercure on the 27th August to confirm the booking and to explain one member of the party was gluten free, i was then told on the phone that the restaurant was not yet open and wouldnt be open until the end of september and that groupon were fully aware of this and you had amended your booking system to show such aletations. Would i not have rang i would not have known as groupon and mercure at no time have been in touch to cancel the reservation.
on the chat facility i asked for a full refund as i would have to take my mum somewhere else and i had fraudlently been led to buy something which was not available therefore you had breached your contract law. i was told by your chat person that this would be escalated and to wait 7 days.
i have waited the 7 days and again no reply from groupon. i have spoken to your chat facility again today and now they want proof that i didnt go? how exactly would you expect me to get this? if you do want further proof i bought a different voucher from yourselves for bistrot pierre and went on the same day so i could hardly be going for afternoon tea twice in one day and in two different parts of the town.

Merchant not respecting Covid health measures, and Groupon does not issue refund.
I purchased a Voucher for a laser hair treatment at Heaven Rathmines before all the Covid situation, and didn't have the opportunity to start the treatment. All business closed in March, and they only reopened in July, when I booked to start with the first session. The establishment has no preparation at all to deal with the health measures being taken, I was taken to a 2x2 m2 little room, when the woman removed her mask before starting the treatment (which didn't happen for other reasons). Not happy with all the situation, and not having received any treatment at all so far, I asked a refund to Groupon. They informed me I needed a confirmation from the merchant. I got in touch with the merchant and asked for confirmation. She replied to me offering an extra session, and when i said i was not comfortable and would prefer the refund she stopped replying me. I am asthmatic and wouldn't put my health at risk for the esthetic treatment, and I'm having no success whatsoever pointing this out to Groupon. The company after selling you the Voucher has no interest in the kind of merchant they are hosting in their website, and what happens after it's up to you. Don't trust this company, as if you have any problems they will not care about solving it for you, and it will be a waste of money. Very disappointed.

Groupon is running an ad for Your Smiles Direct who have gone into receivership and changed their trading name. I notified Groupon of this two weeks ago through web chat with their agent and they are still selling it on their site today. Shameful.
