Grobdale Arvostelua 

Being there with my brother and his wife, such a beautiful place. Sarah and Andy were very nice and accommodating nothing was a problem, they are the most lovely people on the planet, the building that we stayed in was impressive and immaculate and very well equipped just like home from home. We would love to go there again when the mosquitoes are not there, nice to see all the animals that they have, Jim the farm dog is so good very friendly, if you want a very relaxing holiday then visit grobdale

We were welcomed and felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. Very impressed by our cottage, The Dairy, with its wonderful kitchen and luxurious bedrooms.
A welcome hamper was much appreciated with the bonus of dog treats for ‘Ted’, together with a towel and tennis ball!
The views from the outdoor seating area are absolutely stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed late afternoons/early evenings in this rural idyll.
Sarah was very friendly and always available if needed. Suggestions were made to enhance our stay and guests are encouraged to experience the farm. The pork burgers and lamb shanks we purchased from the farm shop were absolutely delicious and we are looking forward to the honey.
Ted was able to run around in the field next to The Dairy, which he loved, and Sarah enabled us to get up close to the herdwick lambs.
The area is a delight to explore with so many attractions within a 30 minute drive. Our highlights were Threave gardens, the beaches (particularly Mossway), Kirkcudbright, the woods of Cree, and Galloway forest, plus more!
We would not hesitate to recommend gorgeous Grobdale and hope to return soon.

This was our 4th visit to Grobdale, the cottages are so well kitted out and the location is stunning. There are very few places so peaceful and beautiful in the UK where you can get away from it all. Sarah and Andy are excellent hosts.

This was my second stay at The Croft and I can’t recommend Grobdale of Girthon enough. Sarah and Andrew are lovely and have always made me feel very welcome. The Croft is wonderfully maintained and well equipped with everything you need. It is a very spacious two-person property (though I was staying there on my own so more space for me!) and the bed is exceptionally comfortable. The best part? The stunning scenery and views outside. I’ll definitely be booking up again in the future.

Location is amazing, very relaxing, nice & peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Dairy, which is first class luxury accommodation.

Everything was perfect. We stayed in the Dairy - beautiful, very comfortable and wonderful views. Lots of thoughtful extras too - thank you.
It was lovely to meet some of the 4 legged residents, especially the sheep at feeding time. We're missing it all so much now we're home.

Beautifully decorated cottages with everything needed to make a very comfortable stay. Situated in a lovely quiet area so perfect for a relaxing holiday. Added bonus of lamb cuddles for relaxation. This was our 4th stay and will definitely be back soon.

The Croft was well laid out and very comfortable. The quality of the fixtures and fittings was very high. The view was beautiful and the window seat was a bonus. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our time in this remote part of Galloway.

Another visit back to Grobdale, again fantastic place to stay and our hosts are fantastic people can't wait for our next trip to see them in August and also booked in for New Year's.LOVE IT

This is our second time at Grobdale. After finding this wonderful place, we were in no doubt where we wanted to stay while in the area for our holiday.

Once again, we had a wonderful stay. We stayed in The Byre this time and found it to be of the usual high standard in everyway. Immaculately presented and beautifully furnished and decorated. The well stocked welcome hamper was once again greatly appreciated along with a personal greeting for our family.
We found the huge sumptuous settees very comfortable for movie nights and loved the beds for a sound nights sleep.

It is a perfect location for us and spent our time cycling, running, horse riding (thanks again Sarah :)), dog walking, star gazing, sunbathing (the weather was incredible), exploring the Grobdale Safari to enjoy the beautiful scenery, wildlife and farm animals.

We took the opportunity to visit the on site farm shop again and stocked up on their delicious outdoor reared produce.

Thankyou to Sarah, Andy and Lauren for being perfect hosts and sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We cannot wait to return!

This was our second stay at Grobdale. This time we stayed in the Dairy. Just as beautiful as we remembered. Immaculate, everything you could need and the bed is amazing. We haven't slept that well for a long time. We had beautiful weather so made full use of the outside seating area taking in the peaceful, panoramic surroundings. Sarah and Andy are fantastic hosts. What a wonderful stay. Sarah, Andrew and Lauren were a delight. We stayed at the Dairy. Absolutely first class accommodation. High standards to all furnishings and linens. Beautiful views from the property. Definitely a must to revisit.

We have just returned from our ninth visit. Grobdale, with its beautiful setting is the place to relax, unwind and regenerate.
The surrounding countryside, with its interesting hidden gems always delights.
Sarah, Andy and Lauren are kind and thoughtful hosts and take great care to ensure that guests have the best experience.

Another great stay at Grobdale with Sarah and Andrew. We stayed in the Croft again which was lovely as always, weather perfect, perfect hosts and helping out with the lambs made our holiday. Cannot recommend Grobdale more highly.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Grobdale of Girthon, near Gatehouse of Fleet, in the beautiful cottage called The Dairy. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the most idyllic and peaceful setting — birdsong filled the air and a sense of calm settled over everything.

The accommodation was absolutely perfect — a cosy, beautifully decorated two-bedroom cottage that had everything we could possibly need. It felt so welcoming and inviting, truly a home away from home.

I brought my two dogs, Hamish and Duke, who were equally well catered for. They loved having access to a secure field where they could run freely and safely whenever they wanted — a real highlight for them (and for me!).

One of the most special experiences was getting the chance to help feed the lambs — such a memorable and heartwarming moment. We also enjoyed many wonderful local walks, exploring from Gatehouse of Fleet out to Sandgreen Beach and around Cally Woods — the scenery was stunning and the peace and quiet just what I needed to truly relax and recharge.

Chris and Sarah, the hosts, were outstanding — so attentive, warm, and welcoming, ensuring our stay was nothing short of fantastic.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better holiday and I’m already looking forward to returning in the near future. Thank you, Chris and Sarah, for providing such a magical place to stay!

Another wonder stay in the Croft. As always received a lovely welcome hamper filled with goodies. This is my third stay in the Croft. I have enjoyed it every single time I have been. Stunning views, amazing walks in nature, great wildlife spotting and of course the beautiful Hunter family who make the stay extra special. Nothing is to much trouble from helping when you forget that one item you need to making sure you have everything you could want. Was lucky enough to be here while a fresh meat delivery arrived so was able to come home with some fab meats. I can’t recommend Grobdale enough and I’m already looking at booking again❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Another wonderful stay at Grobdale (our fourth). Always a wonderful welcome from Sarah and Andy and immaculately presented accommodation. We love staying on the farm, with the kids enjoying feeding the lambs, and enjoying morning and evening walks around the "Grobdale safari" with our dog, watching the kites, curlews, greylag geese, deer, hares and all manner of other creatures. Gatehouse of Fleet and Castle Douglas are great wee towns, and Grobdale is far enough away but not too far -approaching down the farm track makes the stay really special and adds to that sense of getting away from it all. There are plenty of eating options, some of the best views, beaches and scenery in South West Scotland and amazing walking/biking opportunities with a short drive. We can't wait to visit again!

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely setting, Sarah Andy and Lauren were all friendly and welcoming, the hamper was a lovely touch too, highly recommend and if we were ever in the area again we would t hesitate to book!

Grobdale at Girthon is set in a tranquil Scottish valley on a small working farm, run by a welcoming family. The cottage was very comfortable, warm and quiet. From your sitting room we had views across the Grobdale valley. We were made very welcome by the owners, were able to explore the workings of the farm, observe and feed the new lambs and enjoy the night sky, during the high solar activity, after the hostesses made us aware of this. There were many walking opportunities for enjoyment of more active holidays too.

A return visit for us which was just as great as the first. This time we stayed in the Dairy which is very welcoming, clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Great veiws, a generous welcome pack and thoughtful touches throughout all add to a special place to stay.
Sarah, Andy and Lauren are extremely welcoming and friendly they have created a very special holiday location to which we hope to return.
