The holiday was a fabulous experience. Our. Guide was exceptional, well organised and knowledgeable. The hotel in Tiefencaster was adequate but rather basic.. the days were very full, getting back to the hotel at 6.30 with no time to shower and change before dinner at 7.30. Would have liked a more leisurely pace.
Wonderful holiday scenery was amazing
We had the most amazing time our tour manager made sure everyone was happy and looked after us the hotels were great the Bernina Express was amazing as was the Glacier express we had just the right amount of eon our days out the group was just the right size and we all got on really well.Just to say thank you once again to our wonderful tour manager Lisa
Our 4th trip with GRJ and again did not disappoint. The scenery was spectacular and the weather was good apart from one day. The only complaint we had was that there was nothing to do in the evenings due to the remoteness of the hotel. There was also quite a steep climb every day to reach the train and bus station.We were all very fit by the time we left. The room was comfortable but the food was quite basic with no choice. Drinks were included in the price which was a bonus. The hotels in Strasbourg and Basel were excellent. A special mention for our tour guide Sian who was very organised in looking after 38 of us. She was always cheerful and ready to lend a hand.
Although the scenery was stunning, there were too many people in our group (38) and the hotel we stayed in was too remote with nothing around it and the food was terrible.
Fabulous trip all the way from the start in St Pancras. Bernina Express and Glacier Express trips were stunning. Thanks to our great tour manager, Sian, who made the whole experience seamless.
An excellent trip on the whole but a few too many train changes and having to cope with suitcases. The tour manager, Sian, was excellent and kept us well informed. I felt the group was too big.
Exceptional! Very well organised. Our guide, Sian, was brilliant - friendly and helpful, providing ideas on what to do on our free time. The Swiss scenery was stunning.

The scenery were amazing. The first 2 days were very tiring carrying suitcases and 3 changes of trains. The rest of the journey was well organised with the tour manager Alan who was very kind and helpful. being very cautious, Alan had us gathered really early for each departure. Perhaps he can relaxed a bit so we didnot have to hang around too long.
Hotel basic at best, late evening meal and very mediocre. No alternative food so went without on 2 evenings. 1 staff member very rude. Mould on ceiling and tiles in bathroom, bed mattress so thin could feel slats and 1" pillow. Charged single person supplement but given single room for main stay so £150 each night for overnight stays, but discovered other people offered voucher that negated this. Although I was trying GRJ with a view to a long haul, based on this experience I will not go with them again.
Great holiday
I have already sent an email. Our hotel, albula and julier was not a 3 star hotel, more like 1 star. The bedrooms are very dingy, the food was awful, the wine was like vinegar. The staff quite sullen. My travelling companion had a shower that flooded the bathroom every time she showered. The hotels in Strasbourg and Basel were excellent.

A most enjoyable holiday. An excellent group of fellow travellers guided and directed by the excellent “Cat” our lovely tour manager. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Wonderfully scenery, great hotels and food. Brilliant all round.
An excellent trip, beautiful scenery, good food , comfortable accommodation and a superb tour manager
Excellent value for money. Expertly organised by an amazing tour manager (Aubrey) Stunning scenery, superb trains. Faultless itinerary. Hotels in Strasbourg and Basel both very good. Tiefencastel hotel was a great location, nice but pretty basic rooms and food adequate but insufficient choice. Overall an outstanding and busy trip which provided a wonderful stay in Switzerland and trips on some of the most stunning train journeys on the best routes. GRJ organisation from booking to return to St Pancras was faultless - no mean feat as this was a complex trip comprising 40 fellow travellers. Communication throughout was timely, informative and educational Finally The group vibe was mainly excellent and certainly added excitement and enjoyment. 100% recommend.
