Graduate Gowning Company Arvostelua 

The gown was received during the time period I had asked for (my son was away on holiday prior to the photoshoot). It came in a sturdy box, was in good condition and didn’t need ironing. This company was able to help even though his graduation was two years ago during Covid. I found the price for hire to be reasonable and the communication with the company was very good. Thank you for making his graduation photo a reality.

AWFUL. it is a HIRE, therefore you should get the money back. i am from a low income family, which i could not afford the gown yet as it was a hire i had loaned the money from a family member to then pay back. i am now £60 out of pocket because of this awful company. £37,000 for a piece of paper and £60 to keep a hat. scam.

Gowns were heavily creased and falling apart at the seams, with pulls allover and unable to be fastened. After paying £45 for a rental service I would expect better quality.
When leaving the university campus I was followed by an unmarked van and aggressively verbally abused with threats of being tracked with GPS/microchips and fined if I didn't take my gown off immediately. When I explained that I wanted to take some photos with relatives that were unable to make the ceremony, and return the gown later that afternoon, the driver made comments to the effect of "or else" before speeding off.

Gowning was provided by the university. So we had no choice but to choose this company for our gowning. The gowns were collected on the day of the ceremony at the university. Paid nearly £50, and all the gowns were creased. Not even slight creasing. Fully creased, even in pictures the crease lines were very visible. Ruins the entire outfit and makes you just want to take the gown off. Looks very unprofessional and just not nice at all. Went to change the gown and realised they are all like this. Looking around and just saw that everyone’s gowns were so creased. If hundreds of not thousands of students are paying £50 each for their gowns; the LEAST you guys can do is iron them!!

£42 to rent a gown for a day? RIDICULOUS

Reasonable gown hire fee, much cheaper than the one from my under grad!! gown looked nice and great staff helping by the stage before i walked across so my photo looked good!

Amazing time at my graduation at university of Hertfordshire this week started when a lovely young gentleman helped me arrange my gown hire on the day as due to health issues I was unsure whether I’d be up to attending. I was late (thank you m25) and felt so stressed. He jumped into action as soon as he could see me panicking and had me in my gown and off to the ceremony just in time. Even letting me pay on my return as I’d also left my purse in the car! The gown fitted perfectly and was so much more comfortable to wear compared to my undergraduate gown from Westminster.

He even remembered me when I returned my gown and said he was so glad I made it and was happy to now see me smiling!

I feel so ashamed I never caught the young man’s name but a real credit to the company and certainly made part of my wonderful day.

Absolutely no way to contact them. They haven't answered emails or the phone for weeks. What a terrible parting gift to subject graduating student to, a monopolistic unresponsive overpriced organisation. By the way, the University of Hertfordshire web site states that academic gowns are NOT required at the ceremony. Stop banging your head against the wall.

So far appalling, my son is graduating and collecting his PhD very soon, I went online and found that they are only accepting online rentals at the present time.

I therefore contacted the company and was told by an outside telephone answering service that they did not have any further information or knowledge to be able to answer any further questions but told me we could buy one on the day of the graduation!

I feel this is not adequate or a suitable service for someone who is collecting his PhD and when the Academic Gown and Bonnet are normally purchased.

I feel very frustrated and disappointed, especially when this is supposed to be exciting and wonderful time.

Monopolistic policies allow this company to survive. Overpriced and you have no choice.
