I switched from there to here. I observed that my son had been misbehaving, so I decided to change place. And, now, my son has been behaving really good and healthy

While they do act as middle men this can be extremely frustrating. I am unable to say certain words, or send updates, videos of the puppy. After the pup is purchased you cannot contact the breeder without downloading the app… know that they charge $40 per payment, had I know that I would have paid once not twice so with all the fees cost me $100. But not being able to contact the breeder is highly annoying.

They allow dog brokers that buy from puppy mills to sell on their website so no you’re not buying a puppy from an ethical breeder they act like they do their research but they let anyone sell on their for profit . They charge you tax they take ease from the 10% commission from the seller so it’s all about money. It’s really not about the quality of the puppy of your new family member. I brought it to their attention that they’re letting brokers from puppy Mills selling their website and they did nothing about it because they’re gaining profit.

Then resells for wayyy more” and you have to remember they’re in sales so their customer service is excellent and this is To make you think you’re getting a good quality dog but genetically you’re getting a messed up dog that’s gonna create vet bills and long-term heartache.

This company provides poor quality, and both times I have used it, I have had a very negative experience. The breeders are not vetted as they claim. If you are looking for a backyard breeder, then this is your site. Unless you specify that you want a breeder with excellent health testing, you get nothing more than the required puppy vaccinations. I finally got a puppy and flew a good distance to pick him up. I was never provided with the paperwork to provide my veterinarian, so we had to start from scratch, potentially duplicating immunizations unnecessarily. When I complained to Gooddog, rather than helping me, they discontinued my account. Also, the prices for the puppies they offer are significantly higher than if you do your research, such as checking with a breeder from a parent club of the type of dog you want. In summary, this is nothing more than a fancy puppy mill.

It was a horrible experience! The Boston Terrier breeder near Cincinnati was not very nice and talked about other clients referred to as an”old couple” visiting her taking up her time. The disrespectful nature of her business approach had me appalled. Her breeding stock produced a litter that had a cleft palate pup. Videos were poorly designed to help clients choose their pup and in my case had the pup with the birth defect in the video. When I expressed concern about this litter, I requested to wait until the next Boston Terrier litter. This was already discussed previously. She obviously now took offense and rejected the previous agreed upon alternative. My deposit was now rejected but the platform did not return my fees voluntarily. It turns out 2 days later, I found a beautiful genetically tested pup for $700 instead of her overpriced litters of $2500! My pup purchase experience was amazing in Pennsylvania. I was treated with respect and got all the documentation for health records. Good Dog platform is for people that like to pick a pup off a phone screen with no interaction or physical inspection. Consumers have choices and I was so glad she returned my deposit so I didn’t have to take her to court. Easy peasey on the phone is not always the best way to find a pet.

Communication was top notch. And every week we got a picture of our pup and info about his growth and personality. Meeting for drop off was so easy. It was a great experience and we love our furbaby so much.

I purchased a pug puppy from Splash of Color Pugs using the Good Dog platform. Using Good Dog made it very easy for me to look at several puppies from several breeders. Most important was working with Illa owner of Splash of Color Pugs. Illa responded to every message within 24 hours, provided photos of my little boy as he grew, acknowledged the payments almost immediately.

I have worked with several breeders in the past and Illa is the first that I absolutely have not one negative thing to report. Most important is that Kirby is everything you could ask for in a happy, healthy and beautiful little pug.
Splash of Color Pugs is the absolute best.

Spent 2 months trying to become a breeder, jumped through all hops just to be denied for reasons that didn't apply to me. I called, emailed still nothing but bullshit. They also claimed they updated me on policy but no. Took 2 months to say 1 sentence they could've started with. They failed full stop. No policy was even discussed until after the denial.

The one draw back, is they take me out every hour or so, although it could be every two days -- I don't know ...They have this huge yard that is filled with adventure. and a covered deck which is great for relaxing. I follow them around all the time - they seem to love that.I have tried fooling them that I am starving -- dosn't work. However, I have "fake peed" a few times ( ha ha ah Ha ).
Oh and the toys are amazing, and we got to watch " Best in Show" last night. ( my favorite ). Well time to go. back to sleep after an hour of playing with all my toys. Pros: Screening is rated as fair, both about potential homes and breeders.
Options to add health testing to each dog in the program is nice.
They did have the video add option for available pups, but recently that option was removed. They do add and remove options frequently, which is inconvenient at times.

Cons:
Their fee they charge buyers is very high ,its 7% and most buyers we tell have no idea this is happening.
You have to agree to pay through their platform, which gives people no freedom to pay what they think the service is worth.

They allow any breeder to be on the site, only having a few requirements:
1) you are who you say you are ( weed out scamers.
2) The breeders must perform health testing, but does not have to publish the results they claim. This does put breeders in a ranking category.

A breeder can join, even if they dont follow the specific parent club's breed standard ( off colors for many breeds are allowed, major structure faults are ok ) while off colors of others ,like French Bullogs, not allowed merle colors).

A phone number that is provided by GD is on the platform when you call a potential buyer, its actually not their phone number. They are tracking your phone calls, and this is a huge privacy concern for me, since this is unlawful to listen or track calls, they can listen to conversations between parties.

People agree to provide information on buyers, hiding their phone numbers , this puts the breeder at a disadvantage on screening people, as doing thorough background checks on potential owners is a priority to be sure pups are placed in safe and the best homes.

They rarely answer the phone when you call, they are always busy.
If they send you a request or an email with any accusation, we have never been provided any proof of any of their email "concern". This is highly concerning from an ethical standpoint .
Follow through is slow, its very concerning, they are the gate keeper of funds when selling a puppy on their platform, delays in payment are of concern for me and other breeders who are on this platform. I have witnessed comments on other groups with complaints of long delays with them.

If they decreased their fee % to 2%,or had a flat fee of 100.00 per sale, that would be fair. Breeders are doing all the work, all the research, all the posting of information, building a program based on research and knowledge, while they sit back and maintain a site and pretend to know what an ethical breeder looks like.

Their fees are too high, they do not need to charge a high 7% rate.

Costs for breeders are high, and keep rising, support breeders who are preserving the breed standard, and are striving for improvement. I have been breeding for almost 40 years, this platform has many gaps that are huge and are in of need improvement.

They have poor and slow communication based on the high fees, they could hire more people to provide much better customer service.

Good Dog has some work to do, to get more than 3 stars from me.

I bought a dog here and the staff were enthusiatic and friendly.

Love the pup! Good experience with the breeder who appeared to take really good care of her dogs. Annoyed with hidden fees associated with Good Dog. $45 “protection & support fee” and $23 “payment processing fee” tacked on to deposit. On the final bill, $75 “protection & support fee”and $46 “payment processing fee”. So a total of $190 in hidden fees. And Good Dog assesses fees to the breeders as well. Seriously overpaid for the services that are provided. Users should be advised of fees upfront. Nobody likes to be surprised. My advice is find a breeder, then contact them and deal with them directly.

Silvia made bringing my little girl home so easy and comfortable! She answered all my questions via text (I had a lot of them) and sent me videos of my puppy (initially named Bella, but is now named Sesame) before I was able to bring her home. When I met Silvia and my little girl, she was happy and healthy! Sesame was about 4 months at the time and already knew to potty on a pad the second I got her home. We went to the vet for her check up after picking her up - she was perfect and thankfully Silvia kept her up to date with her shots. I am so, so happy I picked my pup from Silvia! Sesame is the sweetest girl, friendly to all doggies and humans, and full of life!

This company is the biggest joke ever and scam. False advertising to connect with good breeders. I have reported 50 breeders that lie about health testing or use bred dogs at 10 months old and good dog doesn’t care! One breeder has 115 dogs!!!! Good dog doesn’t care! Then they remove actual good breeders with quality dogs and refuse to answer to why! Run away!

I love how the response is reach out iv got tons of text mags and emails showing I have and sent proof which is actually your job not mine showing these ppl have no health testing! And some have 40 dogs in co owns! And back in 2022 I was approved breeder then u took me down because you guys don’t even know the actual usda and department of ag laws. I offered the inspectors contact info saying I didn’t need a license and they refused to listen said I needed to be which was a complete lie.

One breeder they had on their site was raided by the humane society of United States! They were using her dogs in commercials!!!! They didn’t even take her down until I sent them proof and her puppies looked skinny and disgusting posted on the site! I still have screenshots and proof of it

Absolutely do not rely on this company for a dog. They do not back a single thing they claim, or if they do, it is very pick and choosey.

When things like "hooded vulvas" are genetically passed off by the breeder to the unsuspecting customer, GoodDog will back the breeder 100%, and demand the customer support their claim.

The problem is, if these dogs were pre-inspected by GoodDog to begin with, they wouldn't be passing off genetically inferior dogs to unsuspecting customers.

So their false advertising of "Breeders are vetted" is an absolutely dishonest claim.

Our puppy was never "potty trained", came to us with worms, the breeder was extremely dishonest, and flatly told us she bred her dog so she could get enough money to fix the hooded vulva issue in HER dog. She made a lot of money off those puppies and half the litter was female, and genetically predisposed to hooded vulva issues.

Over the past year, we have made a real effort to be transparent and helpful in puppy listings, taking time to explain details, clarify Good Dog’s rules, and make sure buyers understood their options when purchasing through the platform.
Recently, we received an email stating my account was TEMPORARILY suspended—not for health, quality, or care issues (we are show quality for breed standard ), but because we allegedly offered “more payment options than allowed for aGood aDog Buyers” .The GOOD DOG email said our account would be “HAPPILY reinstated “ if we replied back to agreed to follow Good Dog’s payment rules. We felt hurt and chose to question the alleged violation. What surprised us most is when we asked for clarification on where or when this violation occurred, they didn’t response.We even sent examples of wording used in the puppy text and asked where violations happened. No response again.
In the past, I had received congratulatory messages from Good Dog about the detail and clarity of listings, which reinforced thr belief that we were being helpful and compliant. So this situation was confusing. Interestingly Instead of honoring their words and giving the opportunity for us to be “ happily reinstated” - within 48 hours of sending email questions , our account was CANCELLED. Feeling hurt and will never go back to have the chance to be mistreated like that again. What do I think happened? First off Good Dog encourages breeders to turn in Buyers who try to purchase off-platform and Good Dog encourages Buyers to turn in Breeders who try to have buyers purchase off platform . I have had Buyers refuse to purchase through Good Dog due to taxes being added, commission, and charges. I actually have TURNED THOSE BUYERS A WAY, being loyal to Good Dog policies. There was one incident Christmas time , a buyer who didn’t want to purchase through the GOOD DOG platform asked if they fill out the application on my personal Website would that be fair so they could purchase directly through us, and I told them “ That is up to them to choose”. I think it’s possible that GOOD Dog might have employees who masquerade as buyers ( spies I think is the term) to see if Breeders are loyal to them. All I can do is speculate since GOOD DOG refused to provide details.

She is independent and doesn't stay up under you, explore on her own.
