After I posted my last review, my contact at global citizens , Patricia, reached out for the first time. She wrote that she’s been aware of the situation with the bank yet she only now contacted me specifically to ask me to remove my review. She did not care about what was happening with my account until it somehow impacted her. I would strongly advise anyone looking to do a golden visa in Portugal to go a different route with a more reputable agency.

At first I thought that I was dealing with a reputable company appointment times were kept, and online meetings were held. Then after the initial payment was made we have not had any communication form the company, What gives?????

Set up a meeting, none showed up

We have worked with GCS since 2020 to apply for Portugal residency for myself, my husband and our child. We are now waiting to receive our residency card.

Our introduction and orientation took place through video conferences due to the pandemic. We were impressed with GCS’s knowledge and professionalism. They patiently provided everything we needed to know even though we had no prior experience of this kind and asked many repetitive questions. Their fees were also reasonable compared to several other agencies we had contacted.

Throughout the three+ years working with GCS, we have found them to be honest, efficient and resourceful. In addition to having their in-house legal team, they connected us with an associated law firm to process our paperwork. We were given detailed investment options (in our case equity funds or real estate) through meetings with fund managers and their excellent associated real estate company, Goldcrest. Every entity we were connected with through GCS has been very professional. Communications and responses from GCS are always prompt. We also appreciate their secure portal for clients to upload documents.

The only minor disappointment is that the application process is taking longer than we expected, but this is not GCS’s fault but is attributable to slow processing by the probably overwhelmed government agencies.

All kinds of promotion on how professional, yet wastes clients time by not even practicing the basics. Call when you have a scheduled meeting. Why would anyone want to beg for basic business with large investments?

It is a feeling of being supported but not overwhelmed with information. The ease of scheduling and communication is much appreciated with the differing time zones as well.
