Some items are not as good as shown in the picture. The key thing is to choose the right seller and this is not easy when you are overwhelmed by thousands of them.
The price is acceptable even plus shipping costs during deep discount events. I have ordered 3 times from Gmarket and are not happy with them. Some items are good but the others are low quality=> average price is pricey. I do not intend to order again if there are not deep, greatly deep discount.

The customer service almost NEVER answer questions although they heard it loud and clear. Their tactic is to beat round the bush when mistakes happens and after a few more irrelevant replies they close the case. Subsequently if you try to reopen an issue, it will go entirely UNANSWERED. Refunds are not given back. This company is DISGUSTING!

Be careful when you deal sellers on this site. Very Dishonest and Unprofessional. The first time we make orders from 2 stores. The first store has no problem. They send us exactly what we order. The second store send us only 2 items ( out of 9 items we order). What horrible experience. Imagine you were in the same situation. They refund when we complain though, but we really want those items resend to us instead.

The second time we order, a store only send us 1 item (out of 5 items we order). We file a complain but still no response. The other store send us defective stuffs and wrong items.

The shipping is a nightmare. Most sellers on Gmarket set a very unrealistic estimated weight for their merchandise. So you have to pay alot for shipping. But they will only charge for the real weight, so the Gmarket central shipping center will refund the extra shipping fee ( as STORE CREDIT ONLY). You have to use that fund to buy something on Gmarket. With the unrealistic shipping fee, you'll be kept in the circles. The refund does NOT go back to your original form of payment.

We email Gmarket but they say they cannot change the estimated shipping fee because the sellers are unwilling to change.

I made a wire transfer payment to gmarket account, but i added a few more to the amount as to I'm not so sure of the exact amount at the time being.
The transaction is successful, so i received a decrease amount of money on my bank and a receipt of the transaction.
I got home, check on my order, and surprisingly the order is not yet processed, so i made a complain right, I even go 1:1 live chat service.
They ask me for a receipt of the transaction as proof of my story, so I gave them
First the agent told me that the receipt was my withdrawal receipt, and i said to them how come my withdrawal receipt has gmarket acc number on it, and the agent ask to see the pic again, so I send it again
And this time he said its because i didn't transfer the exact amount required for the order so the money is stuck on cyber bank

Now you know that this is a total B.S crap because a transaction success means the receiver receives the money
The only reasonable explanation here is that gmarket has my transferred money on their account but they refuse to refund it and taking advantage about the 1 thing I did wrong (adding a few more to the amount) and use that to reason against me

I will never shop here again, this company has done something so low, it disgust me, you guys should think twice before shopping with gmarket, they might take your money and not deliver your stuff, because they can, what are we gonna do if that happens anyway

I ordered merchandise from GMarket in October 2016 - the product was $52 and shipping was $25 but I was willing to pay the high shipping because it was international shipping. 2 weeks later, they sent me an email saying that I would need to pay an additional $27 (equivalent in wons) in order for them to ship. I immediately emailed back saying that I absolutely will not pay the additional shipping fees! So now it's been almost 3 months and they refuse to send me anything and will not refun my money! Have lodged a complaint both with my credit card company and PayPal- but still issue has not been resolved...

Threaten to end the chat and said that I was "persistently complaining" when they told me to get back to them if I had any problems. So impolite.

The customer service is horrible.
I ordered an item internationally as it did say international shipping is available, but after 10 days, Gmarket contacted me saying the international shipping is not available and canceled the order.

Then, the didn't refund the huge amount of shipping cost I paid for the item which got canceled back to my credit card but gave me something called smart cash which can be used only for Gmarket purchase.

I called and asked since I am not the one canceled but was forcibly canceled, but their answer was simply, sorry, we don't have a system doing that. What? I paid using my credit card and they canceled 10 days after although the seller told Gmarket that they can't ship the day after I placed an order.. but Gmarket only shipped the other item and told me one item is canceled 10 days later so that I can't even cancel the shipped item, and gave me refund to be used only for Gmarket purchase?

I don't want to buy anything from this Scam company.. so I want my money back to my original payment.. this is such a b*** s***

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM GMARKET

I've bought from them a lot of times and they're always great. They only ship through EMS which is expensive so it's more worth it if you buy a lot! Every time I message them they reply quickly. It usually takes a week or two to ship but once it's shipped I always get my order in 2-3 days! Only con I can think of is: if you live in a country that has customs restrictions, be careful. They ship in oversized boxes. I don't pay costums where I live so it isn't an issue for me but it might be for people in Europe so be careful about that! I love that website and will keep buying from them for sure

They cancelled my item order on July 25th and to this say August 13th, they will not refund. Their final words were " call your credit card company " I take this as serious and I am certain this website is nothing but fraud. Do not buy from there.

I've ordered from GMarket multiple times and never had any problems. Refunds and exchanges were a breeze. Deliveey was almost always within a couple days.

I remember the first time I tried to pay on Gmarket. It was really stressful because I missed out a good promotion :(

Basically what happened was I ordered items and paid for it. The items never changed their order status, so I had to contact the customer service. The customer service was good but they told me the order got cancelled and I got refund within 3 days. They eventually had to ask for personal information to confirm my account or something. This is where I became a bit sceptical but I googled and people said it was nothing dangerous to do, and they will delete the information right after they have finish confirming my account. I think that only happens for international customers.

Okay, aside that.. It's really easy to order there. Just make sure the item is available to be shipped internationally. I love that I can shop for items that can't be bought on ebay and other places. Also in Korea the prices for cosmetics is mad cheap and you can get a lot of limited edition easier compared to other English based websites. In my case since I don't reside in USA, I can't buy cosmetics from Memebox but Gmarket supplies it.

EMS is the only optional shipping, so don't expect it to be cheap. However with all the promotions Gmarket keeps offering, I think it's fair. I wouldn't recommend you to shop there if you're not doing a big haul because the shipping price starts always at least 20-30$. It's a good idea to group order with someone as well! I do get free samples from sellers if it's cosmetics. I don't really buy there often but only when I really need something cheaper and rare (like Memebox and Wishtrend items where they sell 50% cheaper than their international store), and in Korea the stores gives better promotion than their international store.
